Hand-to-hand questions:
I'm planning on starting up a Monk playthrough for some silly reason, and I'm curious how Hand-to-hand compares to regular weapons. Does it break though any of the "needs X or better weapon type" resistances? How well does it scale for damage? Will I end up using a weapon far more than actually punching something?
Oh for the love of little green tomatoes...

I can only answer half the question, but here I go:
when I did the h2h playthrough, it bypasses any 'needs x or better' requirements.
I believe it improves with skill and strength, but don't quote me on that

Quoted. But also follow up. From the wiki:LugkAgumbuk wrote:I believe it improves with skill and strength, but don't quote me on that
[uesp=Daggerfall]Attributes[/uesp] wrote:Strength governs encumbrance, weapon damage and the ease of increasing strength-related skills.
- Modifies the amount of damage your character can inflict with either his bare hands or a melee weapon. Greater numbers translate to greater damage modifiers.

Re: Hand-to-hand questions:
The bypassing the weapon resistance was the most important thing I needed to know, so definitely thanks to that.

Re: Hand-to-hand questions:
I would suggest you to become werewolf, since that's will increase you'r hand-to-hand damage, also you can attack any enemy with bare fists, that can be really useful, i remember once when i killed nymph with my hands, only because all my weapons were steel and that's not effective against nymphs.noobishlord wrote:I'm planning on starting up a Monk playthrough for some silly reason, and I'm curious how Hand-to-hand compares to regular weapons. Hand-to-Hand is much better, than any type of weapon just because:noobishlord wrote:I'm planning on starting up a Monk playthrough for some silly reason, and I'm curious how Hand-to-hand compares to regular weapons. - It bypasses any "needs X or better weapon type" resistances.
- You may attack foe with a bow, and when it's too close, just switch weapon and keep fighting with other hand.
- Unlike weapons, the damage it implicts increases with Hand-to-Hand skill improvement. So, when your Hand-to-Hand skill is about 300% or more, your fists and feet are much more deadly weapon than anything else.
