Bretons 25% Magic resistance and disease.

Post by Daemos Avetorii »

Does Disease in the game count as a magical effect, and would Bretons have a 25% disease resistance? And also, would casting Dragonskin further reduce the chance of getting diseased?

Disease organisms are living entities, while magic spells are energy.
Baurus: Our job is to get the Emperor out of situations like this. Though I'll admit, things aren't going exactly to plan.

Casandra: At the moment, the deadliest weapon at my disposal is a goblin's head on a stick. I'd be worried if this was the plan.

Oblivion was smart enough to separate effects imparted by spells, disease and poison. I hardly believe they failed to include that aspect in Skyrim.

I think it's spell absorption that reduces chances of getting disease, so Dragonskin would help, but I'm pretty sure the 25% magic resistance doesn't do anything.

They actually messed up a lot of that sort of thing this time around.
The Wiki wrote:... t is possible for Magic Absorption to negate effects of shouts, poison, diseases, weapon enchantments, various debuffs, etc.
They even messed up the coding so that chaurus venom and Falmer poison are both spells rather than actual poison (If you have poison immunity...to bad!).

I believe Skyrim's game engine treats diseases and curses similarly to how it treats poisons, rather than magic effects, although they all come across pretty similarly in function so it's hard to tell.
Monsters are bred in labyrinths, labyrinths are bred from walls. There is a reason the Giants choose to remain nomadic rather than follow their shield kin the Nords in building permanent settlements. The Tower is the beginning of all walls.
