The Skyranger in 'Original Xcom' had space for 14 soldiers, iirc. Each of the 'SHIV's used up 4 spaces so you'd likely end up with 10 soldiers and a SHIV on missions.

I modded my Old Xcom so the first four soldiers had ridiculously high stats and became an Elite 'Army of Four'. But 4 isn't enough to complete the missions so they needed support from the squishies - and it added a whole new aspect to the game that I personally really enjoyed.

SHIVS are kinda overpowered in my game. Got the Plasma hover one and well, it took out a freaking Mechtoid with one shot! Not even my snipers get that kind of power! Even my MECs failed to do that! SHIVS are useful for scouting and MELD recovery. Sure, if it gets damaged, it affects the after report but the life of one SHIV is cheap compared to the life of a vetran.

Did the Alien Base yesterday. Lost my crowd control MEC to a Sectopod. Seriously, fear the Sectopod. You can't disable them. You can't hurt them. They shrug off all damage and have to be whittled down bit by bit. Lost another MEC to another Sectopod during base defense. Man, the base defence really did a toll on XCOM. Out of the vetrans i had left, only one survived. And that was my col sniper. She saved the goddamn day! Took out the Mechtoids, finished off the Sectopod, killed Muton elites and Mutons. Wiped out the Cyberdiscs. I kinda had to semi-retire her because she is too good. That and the game thought i could do with more snipers.

Now, i have 12 on staff. I want assaults dammnit! What am i going to do with 12 snipers!? I can't afford to build 12 plasma rifles! Hell, i barely have enough laser ones as a result of them being left over from my slaughter of EXALT.

Got 4-5 PSI ops atm! MELDED Annette as she is assault and by making her invisible, i hope to turn her into a one woman army. Probably have no choice but to do the Overseer mission but will probably prepare for the Temple ship by getting plasma everything, getting the best of the best ready and doing the rest of the planet in Sat coverage.

I think, in total, i have lost 40-50 men and woman.

Also, it is way too fun to punch sectoids.

And 24 damage from a Plasma SHIV. Just wow. That is...... how? How did it do that much damage?

Pro-Tip: You don't need more than 4 Plasma Rifles, 2 Plasma Snipers and 2 Heavy Plasmas because you are going to bring at least 1 but no more than 2 Snipers and Heavies to every mission. Same goes for armor and other equipment, just unequip items from the people who aren't going on that mission rather than leaving it on people who aren't using it. There's even a button to unequip everything from people who aren't in your current squad on sqaud selection before a mission. It will save you a lot of resources although it might be bad if your base is attacked because you can't select a load out for your squad in that circumstance. But other than that it worked for me.

I played the Resident Evil 7 demo and I didn't like that much. I mean I love Amnesia as much as the next person and the first two chapters of Prenumbra, Alien Isolation and P.T are all pretty good. But I wasn't really feeling it with the Resident Evil 7 demo, although I did only play it once and I know I missed things which might have been interesting.

Anyway, I didn't hate it, I thought it was alright. I'm sure I will play Resident Evil 7. And it can't be worse than 6, right? Right?

Played Planetside 1 until the last server shut down today. It really sucks. I've not been this invested into many things in the past. And I the things I was this into in the past where things I was able to end on my own terms if I wanted to. Being this invested into an MP game is a first. And it eneded on Daybreak's terms (as is their right).

See you in a few years, PSForever.

So erm....

I completed XCOM, had Annette as my volunteer. Started a new game with all second wave options enabled(Unlocked some because it was on normal and makes the game even more interesting/challenging) on classic. Erm....

Thin Men are [&@%!].

They are lucky [&@%!] that can one shot you from the begining of the game. Portent is turning out to be the hardest [&@%!] mission in the game! I survived Newfoundland with just bullets. I survived the alien ship in Slingshot. Portent? It's [&@%!] harder then those two combined! Even the big [&@%!] you, i'm here, Cyberdisc was easier to cope with with mere bullets. Here? THEY CAN ONE SHOT YOU!

What the [&@%!]!? WHY CAN THIN MEN TURN INTO SUITED DEATH AGENTS!? I'm having to techincally save scum. By that, i mean, flat out can't afford to lose my only support class squaddie. Already lost a heavy but wasn't a good one. Support class has low will but good aim. Thin men are [&@%!]. When I get my MECs, i am punching them to death! I will burn them! I will use nukes on them! Probably a good thing they didn't give us that as an option or most would never get past this mission in classic without nuking it from orbit.

GTA V Update: About 20 hours in, and I'm having a ball. You know the drill, starting crimes, murder sprees, stealing cars and souping them up.....And crashing blimps of course!

Damn hard to make money in this game, but I appreciate the challenge.

waiting for No Man's Sky to drop, playing Magic Duels on the xbox, Battlefront on the ps4, and good 'ol Oblivion platinum edition on the ps3, still compelling even with those old school framerates and pop-ins, and efficient leveling, considering all the nominal and hand-holding rpg systems around these days, has turned out to be a pretty interesting and involved mechanic.

I'd go with New Vegas. That game really is an experience.

I ADORE Oblivion, but NV is simply better, and one of the finest games I've played in this past decade.

Seconding New Vegas. One of the best Bethesda-formula experiences ever, and arguably the best Fallout game to date.

New Vegas add-ons blow away Bethesda's, IMO.

Obsidian can be crazy creative when they have no leash, and I love it!

Actually I might refute that Fiar. I found New Vegas' addons pale in comparison to the quality of the main game (the writing and dialogue for Lonesome are AWFUL), while I still say to this day that Shivering Isles is one of the best expansion packs in video game history, period.

My recommendation; if you have played both Oblivion and NV, get Oblivion's SE. Shivering Isles is worth it.

Hmmm, I go for the content it provides, usually. Not the story.

I AM a bit more of you standard dungeon delver. If I can raid new areas, get good loot, I'm happy.

Go with New Vegas. It is an excellent game and whilst Obsidian had to use a god awful engine, they managed to get it to behave well. Well, better then Fallout 3 on the PS3. Writing is strong, actions actually have consquences and everything is wrapped up in the endings. The add-ons make sense and are far better then 3's. I mean, Aliens? No. Just no. Aliens are nothing but easter eggs and never should have been featured in an add-on focused on them. So far, New Vegas is the best modern Fallout game in terms of story, writing, humour and roleplaying. And no, i don't really care to debate which is the better game. Regarding 3,NV and 4.

I would go for Oblivion as well but get the PC version. I kinda can't stand the leveling system and combat in it nowadays. I would get a mod that fixes the leveling system so that trips don't turn into battles for your life every single time because of a [&@%!] levelling system. But Shivering Isles is the best expansion that Bethesda produced. If only they put the same amount of effort into their DLC as they did with Shivering Isles. I mean, Skyrim's DLC was good but Dragonborn kinda doesn't stand up against Shivering Isles. I know it's an add-on but if they did it as an expansion, they could have made it the best thing they did.

^ Agreed.

Especially with Oblivion, thankfully everyone who has it on PC is spoiled for choice on mods. You can make the game unrecognizable, and that is excellent!

Get both on PC if you can. Mods. Simply because of mods. I have heard that Modders managed to fix most problems with New Vegas in terms of stablity and Oblivion but mds. I may be a bit biased as i want both versions on PC but lack the system or funds to get them. But mods. Moddy mcmodds.

Alas, mah time with XCOM is over. The time of Dragon's Dogma:Dark Arisen is at hand. Shockingly, i've only completed the Dogma part once. I've owned it for a few years. This shall change! Applying the no roleplaying rule to it as that seldom puts me off the game due to it not being rp friendly and so far, i'm enjoying it. But why, oh why, are bandits so powerful? I mean, [&@%!] the shield and sword bandits. I swear, they have a move that can take away move health in on hit! Playing as a Strider. Because why not? It's an RPG where you can climb monsters and slay them. I naturally want to do the class that does that efficiently. Me main pawn is a fighter, may turn into a warrior, may not. Depends. Will go Ranger then Magic Archer. Ranger once i've maxed out Strider and Magic Archer for end game or for Dark Arisen.

Funny I make my first class mage, I've done the cycle around 5 ish times, only one when DD:DA came out though. I had a lot of fun during that, even now i keep finding new little places and chests. PC playing is fun though. But if you're going MA i suggest a few levels a ranger in any case to up the stamina you got.

Sorc fun fun fun.

That is the plan. It's more of a "In case i need it because of magic" class instead of me wanting to do it. Recall endgame dungeons and BB being [&@%!] towards normal classes.
