Hmm, well that didn't work. I suppose most people down here haven't taken courses in etiquette. What could I say...? Perhaps I could try talking to the girl.

"Hello, there young lady. My name is Adelia Kingsley, and you are...?"

The Taphouse

"My specialty? Huh..." Malcolm scratched his head before grabbing a glass, shining it extra hard, and pouring Adelia some Atollian gin, "Six Echarts."

While waiting for Adelia to retrieve the money, he turned to Rin, "Afraid I don't have any, little miss. Maybe your daddy can take you somewhere else for it."

Adelia reached into her bag and retrieved an iron. "Sorry, I don't have anything smaller."

She picked up the glass and took a sip, then screwed up her face in an attempt not to spit it out.

"It's very... nice." She coughed, and gave the bartender a smile.

Rin & Mausier

"No no no!" She said in dismiss. Slowly she climbed down her guardian's back, like many times before. She would have none of this tomfoolery, none of it! Her small frame popped over the edge of the counter, her crossed arms holding her above as she balanced on her toes. "Not tha't kind of juice!" She quickly pointed to the selection of flammable yet popular drinks "Tha't juice!" She seemed to have her eye on a particularly tan liquid, brandy or rum perhaps?

"Huh?" Rin said, snapped from her juice fueled admiration "Wha'cha on 'bout?" She tossed her head about, wondering whom she was talking to "Meh?" Questioningly pointing at herself

Monad nodded following the comment the rat-faced man made. He looked at the bar and the man guarding the way to the basement. I should have told them before we got here, would have made things a lot easier. He nodded in the direction of the bar. "If they don't turn up anything, I might be able to convince him to let the two of us in there." said Monad to Holman. "But I'd need your help and even then..." Monad shrugged, his tone indicated uncertainty, that it shouldn't be a Plan A, just something to fall back on if the pyrates failed.

Monad's idea for how they could get past the door was to assume the form of the mother and pretend to be a prostitute with Holman as their pimp, a task which would be a lot easier if they'd brought make up, a different set of clothes and maybe a fancy hat with a feather for Holman. Monad didn't feel very confident about the plan but it was better than just walking up and asking to be let in.

"Why, yes. You were certainly the intended recipient," Adelia paused and looked around the room. The looks that people were giving her were making her nervous. "I was wondering if you would be so kind as to let me...tag along for a little while." Mm, maybe some incentive would help. She reached into her bag and pulled out an iron. "I would be willing to pay, if that's what you require."

Morgan, having found a courier to send off his notes at some point during the transition, stepped up to the door, delicately lifting the eagle knocker just before pounding it down upon the door. A little bit of magic used to help the sound carry a bit. Make it a dramatic entrance, the knocking of a door of a probably dead man. "And now we wait."

The Taphouse

Malcolm watched as Adelia drank the alcohol, "Well... I'm glad you think so." There was a hint of concern in his voice that he couldn't hide.

"No, I'm afraid that would be more to Master Wolfram's liking." he told Rin as she pointed at the rum, "But - ah - what's this?" He fumbled behind the bar for a moment before pulling out a rectangular shape wrapped in a decorative foil, "A little chocolate for a little lady." He offered it to her in the hopes of placation.

Whitevale

After sharp raps, the door was presently opened. The callers found themselves staring at an elegantly designed clock before they looked down and saw their greeter, a pudgy boy with a red bowl cut and freckles. Though his hair and complexion differed from that of his father's, Roger fancied he could detect a fair share of common features between their young host and his father.

"Hullo." he said in an oddly deep voice, staring blankly at the trio.

Rin & Mausier

She looked at the posh stranger as if she was some fool "Wha't am I, some' tour guide o' somethin'? Ya haven't by chance lost a few screws there then?" She knocked on her own head to finish off her statement. What kind of class girl walks into a taphouse looking for time spent?

She returned her attention to Malcoml "No no no" Shaking her head in protest, once more pointing to the rum "I want a' tha't!" She slammed down an iron coin "I got' tha coin if ya got' tha stuff?" She was not backing down, not even for that tempting chocolate. Mausier shallowed his shoulders, and tapped the bar counter in silent concede.

Roger - Whitevale

Before arriving at Rupert's, Roger had stopped off at his own house and changed into some fresh clothes.
The gentleman once again wore a grey suit, plain this time, with a wine red waistcoat adorned with a subtle gold pattern. His cravat was no longer navy, but a bottle green, however his hat and shoes appeared to be the same as that which he wore earlier.

Having briefly popped into his nearby clockshop, he now stood on the doorstep of 221 Tottenham Court.

"Good morning, young man. We are looking for a Mr. Rupert Lowe. Is he your father, perhaps?" He asked the boy nicely, noting the child's resemblance to the portly man.

Adelia put the iron back in her bag with a scowl. This insolent little girl was starting to get on her nerves. She just wanted to experience something new, that wasn't too difficult, was it? She turned to the bar and took another sip of her drink.

She muttered under her breath. "Lost my screws, indeed. Fine then, you don't have to take me with you. I'll find something else to do, with someone else who actually cares about a girl's life-long dream."

She began to look around the room, searching for someone who seemed willing to welcome a newcomer. After a minute she turned back to the bar, mulling over her options.

Perhaps I should just leave... I guess I'm really too much of a lady to have an adventure. I could stay here a little bit longer, maybe something interesting will happen. Oh, Mother's going to kill me when she finds out that I went off alone.

A-hem. A sharp clearing of the throat from Cornelia, meant a signal to Alistair that she smelled an opportunity of some sort. What she was referring to, specifically, was left unsaid, but Cornelia's gaze drifted in the direction of Adelia.

Rin & Mausier

Rin held her persistence for the trade, no sign of backing down. However solemn words seemed to have reached a solemn mind. From across their gap, Mausier could not help but look at Adelia for a moment with those mute eyes of his. A serenity of crimson, cast in silence

Rin conceded to her guardian with a sigh, clearly ill fond to his drawn attention, but she got his point even if she had plans of her own "Wha'ts all this talk 'bout dream an' all that?" She shied away from looking her in the face, it's not like she was heartless or anything. Empathy was another thing though

"Why in the world would you wish to hear the dream of a fool, if that's what I am to you?"

She paused for a second, wondering if she could even try explaining her dream to someone. Anyone who heard it wouldn't have any doubt that she was nothing but a fool. She decided to go ahead and say it. If the girl thought that she was a madwoman, so be it.

"But fine, if you must know, I wish to go out and see the world, have an adventure or something of the sort. I can't stand the thought of being cooped up in the world of afternoon teas and walks in the garden all my life." She waited with bated breath to hear the girl's reaction.

Victoria Vario

Victoria elected to return to the origin of the tragic incident in the hopes of finding any evidence of magic being used along with determining if there were any other signs of it being planned to ensure the train hit that exact spot at the right time.

Rin & Mausier

"An' here I thought ya was just another posh pretty girl.." Rin teases at the women "Yer right, yee are a fool. But ain't life just full of 'em?" She flashed a large smile

Her smile slowly faded from sincere to forced, rosey red started to touch her cheeks. Mausier had yet said a word, nor his gaze shift from that women. In a tinge of jealousy, a short fuse was lit.

Rin spun around spontaneously to meet him head on, throwing a fit with her arms as she harmlessly attacked her guardian's lower frame. He replied with nothing, instead looking down on her little scene

"Stop tha't staring! Its rude ya know! She ain't no book to read!" She protested with fury "Wha'cha mean by Every bird has their own song, whether cage'd or not? Wha'ts that suppose to mean?!" Rin stomped her foot in statement, her arms fisted at her sides with a face growing more red by the moment

Adelia stared in astonishment at the girl began her tantrum. She looked up to the silent man. "Oh, did I do something wrong? I certainly didn't mean to."

Who is this girl? One minute she's as sweet as can be, and then suddenly she's throwing a fit. And what's with her guardian, anyhow? He hasn't said a single word, but she acts like he has.

Rin & Mausier(Optional)

"No! Not you.." She said with some reserve before jutting out an accused finger, pointing at Mausier without mistake "But you darn kno'w what ye did!" Her cheeks pouted out, she clearly felt like some injustice was done

Mausier didn't try to deny nor defend himself, it largely seemed to be a on sided verbal confict. Without need, he turned back towards the bar but not before a solemn hand was reached out. Lighly it cupped the top of her hat, softly rubbing it down and messing with hair beneath. She could not help but tilt her head forward, a shy jest to overcome.

As her hair beneath messed and it's attacker relinquish this act, the small girl grabbed hold of two handles of her hair, embarrassed for many reasons. Under her breath she voiced "But she n' I aint nothin' like me..."

Adelia turned her head to the stranger, suspicion in her eyes. Her curiosity got the better of her, however, and she started to speak. "Well, I suppose that I am quite good with my hands, working with gears and the sort. I know how to use a gun, as well."

Monad didn't expect Holman to ask for the plan there on the spot in front of all the other patrons. So Monad decided to lie slightly, they didn't want to reveal their nature as a mage in front of everyone else. "Well actually it wouldn't get me in, but it might get you and my sister in. You can trust her, she works near here and should be getting out..." Monad took out their watch and checked the time to add to the believability of his story. "About now actually." He put the watch away. "I was thinking I introduce you to her and then you both come back here. Say she's a working girl and you're her minder, that someone downstairs sent for her, that it's a surprise. Say you need to go down with her to get payment and tell Bors if he wants to ruin his boss's birthday party he can turn you away." Monad took another puff of his cigarette. "Once you're in you drop the act. You're the detective, she's your partner and you ask the questions you want to ask. Only problem is you'd be getting in under false pretenses, might make them angry. "

Holman lifted an eyebrow. He certainly hadn't expected that to be the plan. "I would say that's quite a big problem, isn't it?" he replied quietly, here referring to Monad's last statement. "There'd be no reason for them to cooperate with us if we've [&@%!] them off. We might be able to convince them, what with how important this is, but... are you not concerned about putting your sister in danger?" He didn't mention his 'ability', of course, but he didn't think it would be a factor anyway; he'd be wary to use it on a powerful figure like the gang boss, and that'd be if they even reached him.

Holman eyed the rat-faced man, unsure of whether he'd heard all that; and if he had, what his reaction would be. From how much the man seemed to know and the way he'd said it, Holman thought it was highly possible he was a member of the Wheelers himself.

"She can handle herself as well as I can." said Monad in an equally low tone. He nodded his head in the direction of the bar, noticing that Alistair was currently talking to someone. Monad had to wonder if he'd forgotten about the job and was trying to chat her up. "Let's talk to firestarter over there, tell her what we know. She can get her friend to try and talk his way in. Meanwhile we find my sister and you bring her back here. If Alistair can convince Bors to let him past, good. If he can't, we have a Plan B."

The Taphouse

The rat-faced man didn't seem to be paying attention to their conversation, though Holman couldn't be completely certain.

Whitevale

The pudgy boy squinted at Roger, "Yes, but he's at work right now. Was there something you needed?"

Lauxan Train Station

When Victoria arrived at the station, she would notice a multitude of black carriages clustered around the station. Evidently, the City Watch was investigating this area. Her hunch would be confirmed as she entered the station, seeing a few officers poking around the mostly empty train station. She saw that the employees and merchants who had been in the station that morning were being questioned by the police. Interrogating the ticket vendor was Commissioner Frederick Clay himself.

Before she could venture further into the station, she was stopped by a young officer, "Halt. No entry beyond this point."
