i can't activate lexicon pedestal

I’m doing discerning the transmundane. I already did everything the long quest required, but i can't activate the pedestal.
Septimus didn't gave me the blank lexicon. So i did that console command thing and place them in my inventory but they don't work. Aren't marked as quest items.
I did same thing with the scroll. All well and good... until i tried to go back to my house. I couldn’t reach it, i had several crashes. I cleaned my save, and all my books disappeare in it. I tryed to kill Septimus, stole those two items and go back. This it is marked as quest item.. Is there a console command to put the blank lexicon at the pedestal? Please help me!!

Do you have a save from before you began the quest? If you do, it might be easiest to just redo the quest.

i was trying to avoid doing that. it was a VERY LONG quest. But the thing is, it was bugged or glitched from the very beggining, because Septimus Signus didn't gave me the items to do the quest in the first place. If there is a way to fix that, i'm willing to do it al over again.

Of the people I've tried to help, you might be the first person who actually has a back-up save. Hopefully it's a one-time issue (I couldn't find this bug on either the UESP or the wikia), and it will fix itself. If it doesn't fix itself, and you don't have too many mods, then you might try reinstalling the game, as it could be a script issue.

ohh no.. not reinstalling.... i'm married to Valgus. No way!
I have too many mods, and too many saves, for emergency issues. I had problems in the past and i swear it wont happen again.
I too researched the web, and i find no solution, but i did find others with the same problem and no answear.

Did you console command the Elder Scroll into your inventory before you tried putting the lexicon on the pedestal?
I'm just wondering whether the lexicon won't work because the game knows that you already have the scroll.
It's probably not that, but just thinking out loud.

The problem is that even if you add the lexicon to your inventory, it is just "a misc item", and not "the item the quest is looking for" (because it is not set as the quest alias), so that is likely not going to work.
Reinstalling the game won't cause problems with your marriage, if you backup your save files, but it may be a lot of work if you have a lot of mods.
if you try to redo the quest - it's not that long, and you can skip the whole dungeon delving with the "coc TowerOfMzark" console command.
As you tried to add the scroll - did you use 0002d513 or 0002d4f1? The latter would be the correct one, as that is the reference that is tracked in quests, compared to the base item. And don't forget to "setstage DA04 30" if you cheat yourself the scroll

well, i kind of sort of resolved the problem: i started the quest from an old save. it is not resolved, but my saves needed a cleaning....
