The lady looked amused. "Well, we clearly have no match for the boldness of House Wendbridge, in deeds or in words," she remarked gaily. She gestured for her bodyguard to shift over, making an empty space between them. "So, will you be competing in the joust today? Or any of the events tomorrow?"
Rosemonts
"Look, listen to your cousin," said Ser Aegon. Aemon nodded his agreement, and the guards rolled their eyes at Ardan's insistence. "If you don't leave soon, that fellow may just come back on his own, and then you'll have no way to repay this poor ser."
Donnick
Ser Donal snorted. "Well, I'm hardly more than a peasant myself," he said. "I can count those ten dragons I gave you in terms of how many nights' food and rest they'd be able to buy me. The only way it'll pay off for me is if I defeat Ser Alyn, and even then I only get whatever coin he has on him. My principal gain would be not in gold, but in reputation. And if I could make it to one of the upper rounds..." The knight practically went starry-eyed.
"But, you must be well used to the sight of gold, being a mercenary and all," he said, glancing at Donnick. "What's that life like?"
Ser Brandon gave a smile and appreciative nod as he acquiesced, and took a seat next to Lady Rosby. "Our man, Ser Jon, will be taking part in the jousts. What he may lack in technique, he more than makes up for in...substance." He looked across the stands, taking in the sights for a moment, before returning his attention to the lady. "I will be competing in the archery contest, and my brother Ser Jory and I are entering the melee."
He elected to prod a little, with his next batch of flattery. "Does anyone accompany you to the tourney, besides your guards? Surely, someone must be fighting to bestow a wreath upon you."
Ardan shook his head, pouting. "Who wanna be nice.." He grumbled under his breath, he hated it when he was spotted for his tricks, even when he did his best to make it seem as if he was innocent. Infuriating, this black mood crossed his face very clearly.

"Come on Ardan, you aren't getting out of it now. The sooner we find this man's companion, the sooner you can get back to your seat." said Robert giving his cousin a pat on the back to encourage him to get moving.

Ser Aegon was beginning to look cross. The stranger in front of them said in a helpful tone, "I'm not asking you to go talk to him and escort him back here. All I would know are his whereabouts and what he's up to. He's a real... character, you see, and I don't want him landing himself in any trouble. I'm sure you understand." He gave Ardan a pointed look at this, and went on, "Consider it to be some nice, simple exercise. As exciting as this joust is, it certainly is a lengthy one, and I don't doubt that you'll benefit from getting up and stretching your legs for a moment."
Ser Brandon
"As it happens, I came here with my betrothed, Ser Willis Darklyn," said the young lady. "He's going to be up soon, and of all the competitors, he was drawn against his brother, Ser Joffrey - you know, the one in the Kingsguard?" From her expression, she seemed to find this amusing. "And so, in spite of what I'm sure will be a valiant effort on the part of my good ser, I don't expect I'll be seeing any wreaths today," she said with a lighthearted laugh.
"But what of yourself?" she asked, raising an eyebrow. "Is there no comely maid waiting to applaud your valour in tomorrow's events?"
He smiled in appreciation of the lady's humor, before replying to her quiery. "Oh, there certainly is. Several, in fact. Of course, we haven't yet met, or been introduced, but I feel my performance in the tourney will make for a fine introduction." Ser Brandon puffed himself up. Clearly, he wasn't about to court the Lady Rosby (not in any official manner, at least), but he might at least make his family name known--or perhaps make a friend of her. As she had done of her own jest, the knight gave a lighthearted laugh at his own boastful jest.
Hidden:
"Let me introduce you to my friends!", she said. And then the House of Wendbridge met people from House Lannister, House Darklyn, House Frey, House Bolton...and was swiftly erased from history. Heh, but hey, if she has ladyfriends...
Ardan pouted, standing up and grumbling under his breath. "Stupid geezer.." He breathed out, a evil eye shoved at the man before he begrudingly started to move to leave the benches. 'How did he even spot me? I made quite sure!' He thought, picking his nails as he thought.

"You have my thanks," said the man, as the Rosemonts who were going got up from their seats. "If he's not right nearby, you may want to check if he's at the stall of the group he's with: some Dornish merchants. It's a short walk north, a large stall with an orange tent behind. Hard to miss. I don't know if you'll need it, but his name's Cordeo."
Ardan, Edmund, and Robert made their way down from the stands, and to the edge of the merchants' row. Cordeo was nowhere to be seen from the trio's present viewpoint.
Ser Brandon
Lady Rosby laughed. "Well, I most certainly hope so," she said. "It would be a shame if such a well-spoken, handsome man was to go uncoupled. To think, you came here as a sellsword from across the Narrow Sea, and I daresay you're more courtly than half the highborn lords in the Seven Kingdoms!" She said this last part as if trying to keep her voice down, and with a conspiratorial grin. "I don't suppose all of the men in your company were so refined, and we Westerosi women have been missing out all this while?"
The gods may grant a long life to the meek and humble, but I would rather lead an interesting, successful life. "Such kind words, my lady. I would not see the most radiant ladies of Westeros go wanting." Mimicking the lady Rosby, the last part of his reply was hushed, though came with an even more conspiratorial grin. He pursed his lips ever-so-slightly, and were it physically possible, he would be straining to squeeze every ounce of charm he could, out of his pores.

HE'S GOING FOR IT. [&@%!] it, she's only been betrothed.
"It's quite interesting." Donnick told the knight whilst putting the crowns into his pocket. "None of the loyalty crap where your options are die for some fat [&@%!] with grey hair or die because you wear a flag of a house that another house wants dead. Just the freedom to do whatever I want for gold, [&@%!] and occassional, running away when you've slept with a nobleman's daughter." He smirked at the last bit and was merely making a joke. "Sure, most view us sellswords as honourless [&@%!] and some are but Westeros has need for honourless [&@%!]. It's a dangerous life but so is being a knight or living in King's Landing. If you're good at it, it's an easy way to make gold. If you're [&@%!] at it, it's an easy way to die. But so is playing the noble's games." He told the knight whilst watching the tourney. He wasn't about to tell the knight that he wasn't a sellsword but a thief as that would have been both stupid and a quick way to die. He rather enjoyed his life and not being killed was one of the perks of being a good thief. That or freezing his balls off on the wall if he was ever caught. He liked his balls and didn't want them to be frozen whilst being banned from [&@%!]. He liked [&@%!]. A lot.

The young Lady's eyebrows went up, and she quickly put on a neutral expression - although Brandon could see that the corners of her mouth were curled just the slightest bit upwards despite her efforts. "You should be careful, my lord," she said in a tone that was just ambiguous enough. "I do not think it would be good if Ser Willis were to find out about... such sentiments." She leaned back in her seat, her pose the embodiment of casual aloofness, but her eyes danced with lively warmth.
Donnick
Ser Donal nodded along with Donnick's tale. "Well, you make it sound attractive, that's for sure," he said. "I'll be honest, my life isn't that different from a sellsword's right now - save for the fact that I see less gold - but unlike you, I suppose, I'm ready to join up with the first lord who offers. If the gods let me live long enough to sire children, I want to give them more than just some dirt and chickens, which is all my parents will leave for me. That's why I left the farm and became a hedge knight's squire in the first place."
"It's not for everyone and there are slight annoyances such as dying, illness, being viewed an attack dog if that is the type of thing to ruffle your feathers and the lack of true friends but the coin, the [&@%!] and the food are often worth it. Of course, it does have it's fair shair of rubbish inns but a sword that is sold doesn't really get to complain about it's bed." Donnick remarked. "Dirt and chickens huh? Decent living for some, i would imagine but gods, what a boring way to live. Now, I'm not lazy but I like not getting up at the crack of dawn to chase cocks and hens and the dirt is always going to get fought over by sir dick and lord noble [&@%!] because it happens to be in the way. Fortunately, times like those are good for business."

In for a star, in for a dragon. "I dare do all that is worth doing, for he who squanders the blessing of The Warrior is no true man" proclaimed the knight boldly. "Among all the stars in the sky, the grains of sand across Dorne, and all the finest Qarthian silks, I see no reason for two souls to be...Strangers." He leaned in to whisper his next line. "Any day, I would risk the Stranger's kiss, to gain yours."
"Milady, this is - I mean, you can't let - we don't even know this man!" burst Lady Rosby's guard in a sudden stammer, looking generally distressed. He hadn't heard Brandon's whispered line, of course, but all the rest was enough to give him a sense of what was going on here, even if he wasn't the sharpest twig on the branch. "Think about Ser Willis! And your father..."
"Please, Dirnt, you have nothing to worry about," the lady said to her chaperone. "You know I'm nothing but faithful to my dear betrothed. Ser Wendbridge and I are simply making friendly conversation. And really, you should be happy I've made a new acquaintance. After all, if we run into him at the festivities tonight, you'll have found someone you can trust to guard me so that you can sneak away and join your comrades for drinks..." At this she gave a quick glance to Brandon, while Dirnt went a bit red and muttered, "Well, I don't know about that..."
Donnick
"Yes, yes," said Ser Donal, who it was obvious was becoming increasingly absentminded. Donnick finally was made aware of what his distraction was when the match that had been underway ended, and the hedge knight stood up abruptly.
"Alright, it's time for me to go," he said. "One more before I'm up, and I'll need to prepare. Thank you for your help, and enjoy the proceedings while I'm gone!" There was enough time for Donnick to offer a parting word if he wished, but either way Ser Donal would promptly be off and on his way to collect his horse and equipment.
Barely a minute had passed before Donnick noticed a presence fill the gap in the bench beside him. If he turned to look, he would see the same black-garbed, grey-haired man who had previously been sitting in front of the Rosemonts. "Greetings, my good man," he said in a discreet tone to Donnick. "If I may be so bold, I believe I may have a proposition of work for you. Would you be interested in hearing more?"
The Rosemonts
Robert, Edmund, and Ardan made their way to the tent and stall fitting the description they'd been given. There was one merchant at the stall counting earnings, and the tent flaps were open to reveal two more of the Dornish travellers relaxing inside. None of them were Cordeo, however.
The man at the stall noticed the three lordlings approaching, and reacted accordingly. "Hello there, my friends!" he said. "I hadn't expected to see anybody coming by what with the joust on, but if you're here, is there something I can help you with?"
As casually as a commoner scratching an itch, Ser Brandon produced a pouch of silver stags, and held it out to Dirnt. "Go for a good strongwine from Dorne, if you've any taste. Perhaps a Lysene red, or a Myrish firewine. Or simply as much ale as you can stomach."
He placed a hand on his belt, and looked out towards the tourney field. "I made the Wendwater run red with Blackfyre blood. The Lady Rosby is more than safe in my company, rest assured."

"Depends on what you have to say." Donnick uttered to the man in a very discreet manner. He refused to look at the man to avoid gaining any notice and to give the illusion that it was two people whispering about the tourney.

"N-not here!" said Dirnt, his eyes darting around nervously. They kept finding their way back to the pouch of silver, though. "T-tonight, okay?" He said softly.
"Indeed, you can meet us then," said his charge. She said this lightly, in the way that two friends just making arrangements might. "Look for us just after dark, around the stalls closest to the castle and the inn."
Donnick
"Well, I don't have much to say now," the man stated, "But if you'd join me at the tavern this evening, I could fill you in. Suffice it to say, I have need of a man of your talents. There'll be a substantial reward, of course. All you have to do is meet me there; I'll be in the alcove in the far right corner from the entrance. There may be others with me. So... shall I expect you?"
