A couple post game questions
So today I just finished the entirety of the Main Quest, and I have also complete the Daggerfall Covenant Story,Fighters Guild Story,Mages Guild Story,Coldharbor and every side quest within the DC Zones. The only things I have yet to do are
Ebonheart Pact Story or Regions (Including Cadwell)
Aldmeri Dominion Story or Regions (Including Cadwell)
Anything in Cyrodiil(Not much of a PVP person nor am I sure if my build is that survivable against other players)
Wrothgar or Imperial City and soon to be released Thieves Guild because I have yet to buy the DLC
Some group battles in Coldharbor
All Group Dungeons except for Arx Corinium and Darkshade Caverns of which is was asked for help in randomly since I am not EP player.I tried to do some of DC Group dungeons but could never find a group.(I am on PS4) and you cannot Solo those don't even try you will be slaughtered.
The Public Dungeons in Bangkorai and Coldharbor Razak's Wheel and the Village of the Lost respectively.
Craglorn
So I have some questions
1.Do you have to have a group to do Craglorn or can you solo
2.Is there anything to do in Cyrodiil besides Alliance War Stuff(Like quests and the like)since I wouldn't mind visting Cyrodiil again since I loved Oblivion but I also want to able to enjoy exploring and not constantly being attack and killed and then being stuck there for the duration of the campaign period.I prefer PVE since in my past experience with any Multiplayer game MMO or not,PVP is usually degenerates into a non competitive of a small group of players with some kind of advantage picking on the little guys so they have no chance to level and make it a fair fight.
3.As for experiencing the other alliances regions and story is it best to do it through Cadwell's Silver and Gold Almanac or just creating a separate character for each alliance.I think I heard that a patch that's coming on Tuesday is gonna change the way that works because from I have read how it works now is like this
DC>Silver AD>Gold EP. Does that patch give us the choice because so I would much prefer to do it DC>Silver EP>Gold AD since I would prefer to do the Ebonheart Pact next since I don't care for the AD and so that will be my last Alliance. So Cadwell or New Character
If I do a new character I am just gonna do the Alliance Stories because I see no reason to the Fighters,Mages or main quest again.
4.If I were to a new character what build would you recommend, I am think Templar for Class so it would be like this
EP
either
Dunmer
Nord
Imperial
Templar
AD
Altmer
Khajiit
Templar
The build I just beat the game with was a Breton Dragonknight which was good but even being champion rank 1,and upgrading my weapons and armor as soon as possible in my case Sword and Shield with heavy armor I found my enemies took a good number of hits to kill. Then when other players either lower or same in level would come by and kill then in like 2 hits with either Staves or Swords, and Aedric Spear.I am left sitting their wondering how do they do that,it was amazing.

Re: A couple post game questions
For the most part, Cyrodiil is pretty calm if you stay away from the keeps or the paths that people take between keeps. There is a huge amount of pve content there. There are 5 or 6 towns that act as pve quest hubs which send you out to quick easy quests around the countryside, and there are many (I want to say 18) delves, and many of these delves have multiple bosses in them. There are quite a few points of interest to discover, some of which aren't marked on the map at all, and a lot of nice varied scenery.

Re: A couple post game questions
I have yet to experience anything introduced by the thieves guild DLC (including the changed cadwells almalac) due to not having access to the internet from my new home, but here's what I can tell:
1. Craglorn solo is REALLY difficult, even if you are V16 (from what I've been told), and some bosses are really hard if you are a three people group, so a four player group is something I strongly redommend.
2. As Deandra said, there's plenty of PVE content in cyrodiil that can be done with little interference from PVP (unless you come about someone from another alliance who kills you despite you want nothing from him, thats frustrating sometimes. Still, there are occurences where peolpe of different alliances band together to beat PVE content in cyrodiil). As PVP in ESO is usually not 1v1, but rather many vs many, even a character not well-versed in PVP can score with a group and rise through ranks (will be harder, of course^^)
3. I'd say this is more of a personal preference. If you want to experience different classes and builds, create new characters. If you want one strong champion, focus on the almalac. Keep in mind that Craglorn is designed to come after the other alliances at a level of V10. As I said before, I have yet to get the newest updates, but their preview said that you could pick the order in which you do the allinaces for the almalac. Doing fighters and mages guild as well as the main quest for a new character may prove usefull for the skills and abilities you gain from them.
4. The templar class is primarely build for healing, but also can function as a tank or dd. If you want to choose your race based on your playstyle, you first should figure out if this character should focus on stamina or magicka for damage. dunmer or altmer would be better for magicka, nord, imperial and khajiit for stamina.

Re: A couple post game questions
1. I've heard of people going solo in Craglorn, but a group is absolutely necessary for certain things. I haven't done anything there yet, but from what I've heard, certain quest stages require you to have multiple people with you, standing on stones or whatever to unlock doors. No idea what it's like on console, but on PC, it's difficult to find a group for Craglorn anymore. Most people who go there go only to farm Nirncrux.
2. As Deandra and SarthesArai have said, there is quite a bit of PvE content in Cyrodiil. The only thing you have to worry about is the gankers, but they can be killed, if you survive their initial burst. If you do delves though, places like Cracked Wood Cave are very popular grind spots on PC (not sure about consoles). There's a chance you can encounter groups of other alliance players grinding in a delve and most of them probably won't hesitate to kill you. Heck, I took my only DC vet (v3 vampire magicka Sorc) into Lipsand Tarn not that long ago to see how she handled it and I got attacked by an AD player. I killed him, but still... It happens. Even in the delves closes to your alliance's gates.
3. I'd be more inclined to focus on one character until they are either high in the vet ranks, or with a decent amount of CPs. For that, I'd say to do Silver and Gold first, then move onto DLC zones. The TG patch will give you more choice, but from what I've messed with on PC, it doesn't change the level of the Gold zones (EP, since you're DC) and you're not scaled at all. It starts at v6 and goes to v10.
4. Eh. Yeah. The Templars were (are?) the preferred healer class. From what I understand, most people tend to roll Breton for magicka Templar(I think most choose Altmer for magicka sorcs), and the Stamplars... Are not as common. I know at least one Nord Stamplar from Cyrodiil (Nikolai the Nord, in EP), and on the AD side of things there's Mojican, but I haven't got a clue what race Mojican is using. My magicka Templar is an Argonian (and was my first character), while my stamina Templar is a Redguard.
Oh, and about people killing things quickly... They've probably got min/maxed super builds with high CPs. Or just high CPs in general. I've only got 327 at the moment (the cap is 501) and even that makes a huge amount of difference when compared to those who are actually new, or have less CPs.
As an example: my DC Sorc, back when she was non-vet, entered Blackwater Blade for what was supposed to be a brief mission. I wound up actually taking part in some PvP and I encountered one person who could not survive my character's burst. Most people could, and I assumed they had a decent amount of CPs spent in the Warrior constellations for resistances, but that one person just... Went splat. Crystal Blast followed by a single Mages Wrath. Poof. Dead. I have never seen somebody drop that quickly. Only explanation I can think of was that they were a brand new player who either had very few CPs or none at all.
That kind of imbalance is exactly why Blackwater Blade is one of the two no-CP campaigns on PC.

Re: A couple post game questions
1. As mentioned already, certain Craglorn quests and instances require you to be in a group of four to progress—often in the form of stepping panels. As for Craglorn proper, lower Craglorn can be soloed for the most part—even at lower veteran ranks—if you have a build that deals decently high DPS while preferably having equally decent sustain. If you're a lower veteran rank, just avoid the Nereids, Dunerippers, and Wasps (oddly, the VR11 Wasps are deadlier than the VR13 variety).
2. Cyrodiil certainly offers PvE options through dungeon exploration and quests that are located at their respective hubs or scattered out in the wilderness. Many of the towns and villages offer quests that are repeatable and reward enough experience for their relatively low difficulty, which is excellent for building up your Champion Points. Keep in mind that you may want to bring someone with you, especially if they're experienced in PvP, as there may be times other players will try to slay you as you're attempting to turn-in quests. Otherwise, the open wilderness tends to be safe besides the keeps and outposts, the roads between them, and occasionally the dungeons or dolmens. Always stay hidden whenever possible, or move swiftly when on horseback. I HIGHLY recommend to anyone who has reached level 10 to visit Cyrodiil, complete the tutorial, and unlock the [Assault] and [Support] skill trees to invest in the skill Rapid Maneuver immediately.
3. In my opinion, it's best to bite the bullet and go through all the Silver and Gold zones on each character. It is time-consuming and repetitive, but you'll want to collect all the quest-awarded skill points and experience (decent boost to your Champion Points progress), the Skyshards, the Lorebooks (to reach Mages Guild level 10), and whatever else I may have forgotten. Typically, I slog through the Silver and Gold before accessing the DLCs, which I consider the true rewards.
4. Typically, Templars tend to be on the Magicka-based side of the spectrum. Out of the racial choices provided, Dunmer are the most magically-inclined jack-of-all-trades race with a handy boost to Stamina, which can allow them to switch to a Stamina-focused build if need be. Imperials are also a jack-of-all-trades race, but lean more towards the bulky side of the spectrum. However, they can optionally invest in Magicka entirely with little investment needed in Health and Stamina, though it would be a shame to not play up on their strengths. Nords, like the Argonians and Khajiit, are sadly stuck in much more niche roles that can be fun, but rather limiting. Altmer fill in the role of Magicka Templar slightly better than the Dunmer do, so that is definitely not a terrible choice. Truthfully, though, you should play whatever race you enjoy the most, as that's what you'll be staring at the entire time you play it.
Depending on which role you wish to cater to, you can be a Caster/Healer, or a Healer/Tank. The former will probably have you investing in Destruction Staff (Inferno is the most popular), Restoration Staff (more heal variety for certain situations), and Dual Wield (for the overall higher Spell Damage and Twin Blade and Blunt passive using dual swords), donning at least fives pieces of Light Armor. On the other hand, Templar Tanks want to focus on Restoration Staff and One Hand and Shield, and donning at least five pieces of Heavy Armor (for the block cost reduction). Depending on what sets you use, such as Hist Bark, you may not need much Stamina invested as a Tank, whereas skills like Repentance can lessen your Stamina woes, which allows you to focus more on Magicka.

Re: A couple post game questions
I think most everything I wanted to say has been outlined above, but a couple of points:
As of the TG update, you can do Silver or Gold in any order -- so if you're on PS4 you'll be able to shortly. But keep in mind, unlike the DLC, the zones won't be scaled to you, but to the vet level they were originally meant for (when there were only 10 vet levels). I can't recall the exact level range of the mobs in the first zone of gold, but I think it's about V6. So if you're only a V1 that might be tough.
Silver and Gold can be a bit of a slog, especially if you don't particularly like that alliance, but they have such nice rewards (skill points, skill line increases, a pot you can wear as a hat
), I do them in the intended order. If you stick to the quests in Cadwell's Almanac and don't do any side quests, you can tear through it pretty quickly. I almost always find myself overleveled as I go through these, but I have the ESO Plus subscriber boost, and I often run with experience scrolls/Psijic Ambrosia. Those will help if you just want to get it over with.
And if you get bored with Silver/Gold, do some of the dungeons! Random dungeon finder can be a lot of fun and awards a load of experience, and running normal dungeons will teach you how to play in a group, which is vital for vet dungeons/endgame (if you're interested in such things). Just know that as a DK some people may be expecting you to tank, and if you're not up for that, set your dungeon role accordingly. (Have heard too many horror stories lately about people queueing as a tank accidentally and ending up in an unbalanced group that couldn't handle the content).
Oh, and as someone who mains a Dunmer magicka Templar, I have to say, go for it
I know the meta is all "only make magicka Templars Altmer or Breton!" but I love the Dunmer and they do have some bonuses, so Dunmer it is for me.

Re: A couple post game questions
Thanks for info everyone so what I did was I did get any DC skyshards I missed, completed Bonesnap ruins which I forgot to do back when I was in Stormhaven which at my level was a breeze.Did Razak's wheel which I was lucky to run into some people who tagged along with me and we made short work of that dungeon.I then proceeded to do the group battles in Coldharbor, some with help others I got lucky where I would beat one die, beat the other, die and beat the other, because I just didn't have the time to wait there for someone to come along to fight the things so we could do it together.Which is surprising that worked since if don't kill all the group bosses in one particular counter without dying they usually revive not stay dead.
Now all I have to is Village of the Lost which is easier said then done since only once have I found someone else doing it at the same time I could tag along with and there is no group finder for Public Dungeons and since I am on PS4 no zone chat either.I was doing good that partner but then I got mobbed by 6 daedra at once I have no idea what he was doing but I got slaughtered.
So I hoping I have better luck with that dungeon soon, then after that I will doing the Caldwell stuff in order though I will going for full completion in the faction areas.I also try getting getting a group to do the group dungeon in the DC Areas. After all that then it will be time for DLC and Cyrodiil.
Quick question, would you recommend me going into a low level area to grind in a ranged weapon skill ? All this time I have been doing melee only which has probably been the cause of some my trouble.Since I have heard ranged weapons are seriously OP in this.Which ranged skill would recommend for a DK.

Re: A couple post game questions
No. If you want to grind a skill, you need to do it in an area where the monsters are within 5 levels of your level (+5 to -5). Otherwise you don't get any exp for the kills. Get the weapon you want with the Training trait on it, ideally green or blue (since that improves the speed of Training).Maxrebo wrote:Quick question, would you recommend me going into a low level area to grind in a ranged weapon skill ? All this time I have been doing melee only which has probably been the cause of some my trouble.Since I have heard ranged weapons are seriously OP in this.Which ranged skill would recommend for a DK.

I don't play on consoles, but I wouldn't say Craglorn is impossible to solo
*whistles* You need a reasonably good build though, or gear (having both helps, of course). It's a wonderful zone imo! I hope it will be battle-levelled soon...
If you want to explore it in a group, even 2-man will do as long as you have some survivability and healing in the group (which all classes can have, yes? ^^). You definitely don't need a 4-man dungeon group with traditional roles, not anymore.
The only boss that's very annoying is Shada, but you'd probably need to bring a friend to open some certain doors in Shada's Tear anyway, so.

I feel like Shada should be pretty easy to solo at v16 if you've got crushing shock or that morph of poison arrow that interrupts. Ambush would probably do the trick too.legoless wrote:Shada is hell. Re: A couple post game questions
Sorry for continuing offtopic -,-
Well, Deandra that's some very good advice, thank you for pointing that out. I killed her now, but for me the problem was always reaching out to those 4 mages that all cast their spell which does about 15x4 damage to me. But I quickly killed one, used teleport strike to reach out to one and crushing shock on them as well (not sure I saw any effectful interrupting though, but I guess something probably got interrupted!). Still, realistically I have to be able to absorb damage from 2 of those spells, because I can't circle around the 4 platforms alone so fast. But wohoo, it's done now.
