Been submerged to Mass Effect -universe. Beat the First Game with female Vanguard Shepard and enjoyed enourmously kicking Geth butts all over the Galaxy. Transferred her to Mass Effect2, nr 3 is waiting it's turn.
I've started Witcher 2 but I don't feel compelled to continue playing it, unlike with Mass Effect.
I've also tried to finally get thru the Dragon Age 2, but my Hawke is stuck at the final battle of act 2... Can't get all those qunari without getting killed.

Glad to see you enjoyed Mass Effect 1. While extremely flawed, it's a great experience. I'm more hostile to ME2 and 3 for various reasons. Look at my sig for gosh's sake.

When you get to ME3 and are on PC and are worried about its terribad BW endings, these mods may help (choose only 1):

MEHEM: http://www.nexusmods.com/masseffect3/mods/66/?

JAM: http://www.nexusmods.com/masseffect3/mods/265/?

LIME: http://www.nexusmods.com/masseffect3/mods/379/?

Click on their pages to learn more.

The series had a major impact on me. I wouldn't be rewriting the thing if I didn't care. Hope it brings you some more joy. And if it doesn't, you can always stop by my forums to discuss a different idea on it.

Team Dextro FTW.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, I loved ME 2 and 3. Extended cut helped a lot of the flaws of the ending while keeping the artistic concepts they had around. Play the game modless for the first time around and make your own conclusions about the ending. Don't let the internet color your perceptions.

ME3's one of the finest gaming experiences I've had in years. Would love a PS4 remaster of the series or somethin.

I loved Mass Effect 2 and Miranda Lawson's ass. ME3 was excellent apart from the last 10 minutes but i view the entire game as the ending to the trilogy and don't let the rather disappointing ending ruin it for me. I still can't believe people made it out to be as if it was the worst thing ever. It was not. I can think of worse ways to end Shepard's journey.

I doubt they will remaster it on PS4 and X1, Union. Bioware doesn't seem to like doing that.

I do intend on FINALLY buying the ME trilogy on PS3 as a birthday gift from myself to myself. For some reason, it is hard as hell to get over here in the UK and i am hoping the one i've seen on Amazon will stay in stock until i am 23 on the 19th.

I think Mass Effect 3 was bad, not just the ending. I think the game as a whole was pretty weak. Sure there were good things in it like Tuchunka, I still like recurring characters and combat was the best it had been (I don't like Mass Effect 1's combat at all, playing it felt like kind of a slog because of the combat) but on the whole I think it was bad. And while Mass Effect 2 is my favorite, I really like the characters and their recruitment and loyalty missions, I think the main plot tied to those missions was also pretty weak due to a lot of nonsensical things.
Spoiler:
The things you are doing to prepare for the suicide mission are very strange. You never even probe the relay (the Shadow Broker did and he wasn't even planning to assault the thing) and instead of researching the collectors, you spend the whole game putting together a crew you might not even need. You're just lucky that they collectors only seem to have one ship and a space station so a ground crew is useful.

What if they had an armada of ships like the Quarians? Or were living spread out on a planet? You have no idea what's on the other side, they could easily have both those things. How would your one ship and 12 friends come in handy then? Why does sorting out your issues with your dad make your more likely to survive a missile to the face? I understand what they wanted to do with loyalty but in practice the cause and effect doesn't add up for me.

So yeah, I like the game, but I have significant problems with it.
That's the thing with Mass Effect I guess, with the series and individual games. I don't have a uniform everything's good or everything's bad opinion. Also in my mind Mass Effect 3's ending does retroactively weaken the series. If you are reading an interesting mystery story and then the end is a load of nonsense it weakens the mystery that built up to that and if you go back and read the mystery again it won't be as good.

That said I do like the series and people should without a doubt play the trilogy, I strongly recommend them.
----

I'm playing Neverwinter Nights 2: Mask of the Betrayer. I dropped the difficulty down to easy because the game is pretty hard (the campaign is Epic Level D&D so 20+.) I installed a mod to let me have the maximum party size. For some reason there are 4 companions you can recruit (well, 5, but 2 are mutually exclusive) but you can only have 3 in your party at any one time. This is despite being able to have 4 companions with you for a significant portion of the base game. Not that I've met the 4th companion yet, hopefully the mod works.

That is a very good point. But Shepard is kinda the ultimate badass in the ME universe and a petty thing like probing it is far below them. Just charge in and hope that they don't bump into the armanda. Joking aside, i think Shepard and Co were putting all of their eggs in one basket when they got the IFF. That and time doesn't really favour them. It's either wait for the probe to get reading or rescue their crew ASAP. Granted, you can [&@%!] around and then save what's left of them. Grunt's death is pretty stupid if he is not loyal. He's a freaking Krogan. A walking tank. A bullet to the stomach would only [&@%!] him off. Not kill him.

As for ME3, it is too action based then RPG based and there should have been more quests. I do wish they went with the original premesis of having a sadastic choice on the Assari home world where Shepard gets impaled via rebar and has to crawl towards either Liara or another squad mate. Would have made Kai Leng be the [&@%!] we hate. Apparently, that would hate gotten people angry if they only had ED-E and Vega left but they could always have developed back up companions or use ME2's. I mean, some, they could have returned. Grunt? He could return as he is damn useful in a fight.

Hopefully, ME:A will learn from the mistakes of ME3 and have more roleplaying elements then be a shooter.

I completed Uncharted 2 and 3. Uncharted 2 is the better game. It just feels like they tried to outdo UC2 with UC3 and there is a bit of padding. Excellent games though.

Playing Shadow of the Colossos HD and well, i'm not giving it my full attention. Last time i did that, it bored me. Just probably 2 hours a day or one Cossli. It's simple but having to travel to find them, it gets a bit boring at times. Oh and the controls are a bit awakard.

May play with my snake later. By that, i mean Metal Gear Solid.

Just finished Jedi Academy, and now I'm replaying PoP: Sands of Time. On my buddy's PC, he and I have set-up a primitive VR rig (It involves moonlight, something that sounds like a disease, crazy internet speed, and a cussed up mask-thing) which we hopefully get to try out tomorrow.

Oh, and I'm also shooting for "First person to beat Morrowind on a Raspberry Pi".

Hitman is my target. I have been playing it for a week now and it is Aboslution. It is a great entry into the franchise but the instinct aspect? Kinda mixed about it. It's useful and it isn't. Useful for hints, enemy paths but i've disabled that to be closer to a traditional Hitman experience. It is useless when it comes to diguises as there is one [&@%!] flaw with the system. apparently, everyone knows everyone. I understand if it was used sparingly. E.g. The motel level would have been acceptable. But not when it's a cop, or a firefighter! It's just frustrating to have to restart the checkpoint because instinct ran out. The Hitman Trilogy wasn't perfect with disguises but it was viable to do it. This? It's annoying as hell! What's the [&@%!] point if the disguise only lasts a few seconds. Oh and guess what? You can't do anything whilst using instinct!

Anyway, gameplay is solid and intially, i was playing for the score and the plot. It's turned into playing for the plot and doing it my way. Surprisingly, i got silent assassain ratings on a few levels where i killed non-targets. :O Tis a bit short though but i will admit, the length is perfect for the plot. However, i do wish Contracts was not limited to online and could have been a series of side missions off line with the create mode. Or just more hits to do. Hopefully, Hitman 2016 will improve on Absolutions' template and from what i've read, it looks to be bigger, a return to Blood Money and more engaging.

I finally got round to playing Undertale and I finished it with the "True Pacifist" ending. I heard a lot of people say good things about the game and they were right. It's great. If you haven't played it yet, you've probably heard a lot of other people say this already. And I'm going to add my voice to theirs, play Undertale, it's excellent.

I also finished Mask of the Betrayer recently which was also fantastic, much better than the Original Campaign of NVN2. In fact you can skip the base game of NVN2 and just jumping straight into Mask of the Betrayer. It's a great RPG (Mask of The Betrayer that is,) probably the closest thing there is to Planescape: Torment.

I am finally done with Witcher 1. Wasn't bad by any means, but meh, not my favorite. There's plenty of problems with it such as awkward conversations; quite a bit of grinding; many female characters being sex appeal and sex dispensers first, characters second (I'm an ace, I don't want sex at all -_- . Give me characters dammit.); the game being too simple in some areas and too convoluted on others; and more. Was it time well spent? Mostly. Will I be playing it again soon? Probably not except maybe the supplemental modules.

I would only recommend The Witcher 1 for fans of the book series. I was a fan when I played it, so I enjoyed it quite a bit despite its flaws. But if you're a newcomer to the franchise, I'd say to play The Witcher 2 first, as it's objectively the superior game. But for the love of God, don't play TW3 first.

In fact, I'd honestly say that for the best experience in TW3, you should read the books first. It's a great game regardless, but the main story is a little lacking if you don't have any attachment to the two debut characters, Yennefer and Ciri.

My computer can only support Witcher 1 it seems (it's a 2009 laptop I think. It's ancient by any means). I also have no working console that can play W2 (have a PS4, but as far as I know, W2 isn't for that. Also, my Xbox 360 broke). W1 worked for me because my computer could actually play it (and I play my computer by far the most). So yeah...... :| .

The Witcher trilogy sounds like my jam and I already own them on GOG, but I haven't played them yet because my current PC can only run the first game. Being able to run The Witcher 3 well is the standard I want to have for when I get a new computer, once I have that I'll finally play the trilogy back to back. Also I know the games involve importing your saves, so I'd want to do that.

I've started XCOM: Enemy Within. Looking forward to customizing my soldiers, growing attached and then having them all die as the aliens emerge victorious and conquer the earth due to my own incompetence. Not looking forward to chryssalids.

Resident evil 5:Gold edition, DMC HD, GOWIII, Shadow of the colossus HD.

Resident Evil 5

It's a good game and in my opinion the last of the good resident evil games. I've not played the Revelation series but have heard nothing but good things about them. The plot is ok but Wesker is kinda crap and clichéd. All CV and 4 built up to was this? No. Since when did Wesker decide to become a god? In fact, i hate to say it but FINAL FANTASY DID IT! And FF does it a lot better then "Humans are evil. I shall save them with uroboros." It's a 5-6 year old game so my threshold for spoilers is not applicable. QTEs are done well. Gameplay is er... it's good but a bit awkard. I [&@%!] hate the one hit kill enemies! just annoying and whoever designed a section to be Lickercest is an [&@%!]. That was not a fun bit and the [&@%!] AI is crap at that part. Just runs past thus activating all of them. Sheva is a likable character and Chris, by god, how did he go from an average man to Chris Hulkfield? He literally punches a freaking boulder in the final boss fight! A FREAKING BOULDER! Can't tell if that's awesome or just so bad it's good. Mercaneries on 5 is good. Played the Lost in Nightmares DLC and why isn't the rest of Resident Evil 5 like that!? With the gameplay needing a bit of tweaking, it would work with the traditional camera angles!

That's more or less it for 5. Played a bit of 6. It is [&@%!] [&@%!]. I mean, it is [&@%!] [&@%!] [&@%!] [&@%!]. It's that bad. Why, Capcom? Why did you murder Resident Evil with 6? Even the films..... actually, no, the films are crap. Last resident evil film that is good is 2 and even then, Alice is a goddamn mary sue that beats up Nemesis. Freaking Nemesis! If you're going to feature that in a film, have freaking Jill Valetine finish it off! NOT ALICE! AAAARGH! Also, T-virus does not create a Nemesis or Tyrant. That's the G-Virus. YOU HACKS!

God of War III.

Awesome. Excellent. Bit frustrating. Kratos kills god. Epic music.

DMC 1

Wow, the gameplay hasn't aged well. Just feels slow and well, not that fun to be honest. I loved it back in the day but 3 kinda spoiled me.

DMC 3.

Excellent gameplay. Dante is at his most cockiness and knows how to [&@%!] off everyone. Awesome.

Want to get ME2 again(Current copy has a scratch in that causes the dialogue to play up) but i kinda want to get the Arrival DLC and the cosemetic stuff. Thus not getting it until i get me jurb. And no, no-one will turk mah jurb.

Sadly no, hopefully I will in this three month holiday. Along with all elder scrolls games, assassin's creed games and a few others.

By the way, did you play the game? Any tips about that?
