Nammu

As casual as ever and not a moment in delay he answered "Just one gold coin" He must of been very sparing with these dried herbs, one can suppose

Time-skip now. Sorry I kept you guys waiting! I only specified where Theodastyr and Nammu are, so the rest of you guys can be wherever you want.

Also, POMC's back.
Spoiler:
Name: Baronet Theodastyr Camlorn, seventh son of Baron Tristane Camlorn of Beauchamp, seventh son of Lord Gaspar Camlorn V of Camlorn
Race: Breton
Sex: M
Age: 21
Appearance: The baronet has unblemished, rather feminine features borne from an affluent upbringing and a lifestyle that consisted of not doing all that much. His skin is very pale, having spent much of his life inside his father's manor, or his grandfather's castle. He has the dark hair of his father and grandfather, and other than being younger and less well-built, he appears very similar to both of them.
Personality: Devout, charitable, righteous and just are just some of the adjectives that Theodastyr would use to describe himself. In reality, most would call him entitled, or enlightened by his own intelligence, or rather, lack of it. While he is not stupid, he isn't particularly bright, and would rather beat up peasants than read books. Of course, that is assuming that he could fight, which could not be further from the truth. His one redeeming feature is, perhaps, that he is too foolish to be a coward, and could at least be described as courageous in some way.
A short bio: Born as the seventh son of the seventh son of Lord Gaspar Camlorn V of the city of Camlorn in High Rock, Theodastyr was brought up as petty a noble as could be, being seventh in line to inherit his father's title, and thirty-ninth in line to inherit his grandfather's title. From an early age, he expressed none of the aptitude his father or grandfather had for warfare. His grandfather was well-known for his bravery and military exploits, and was dehorsed nine times in one battle against some Redguard mercenaries, until he ran out of horses and had his servants push him into battle on a wheelbarrow painted to look like a horse. When the wheelbarrow lost a wheel, he then had his servants carry him into battle on their shoulders.

With virtually no chance to inherit the city of Camlorn, or any of the manors of his uncles or his father, Theodastyr was left with only a few choices. Like many of his older brothers, he could be sent off to join the priesthood, but his lack of religious devotion made such a fate unlikely. Nevertheless, his father attempted to send him off to join some missionaries of Akatosh in Elsweyr, and this plot was only stopped when priesthoods across Tamriel adamantaly refused to take in any more Camlorns, fearing some sort of familial takeover. After this, his father tried to shuttle him off into the Imperial Army, but these machinations were stopped by Theodastyr's military incompetence. Finally, Baron Tristane begged his father to give Theodastyr some small hovel in the middle of nowhere to get rid of him, and thus Theodastyr became a baronet at the age of 16, in charge of the new village of Theodastyrville.

Somehow, Theodastyr accidentally burned his own village to the ground, and was forced into exile by his own peasants. Taking refuge in his father's manor, he stayed there for three years, until, much to his father's enjoyment, he came to a decision to go out on a grand adventure for glory, with the promise from his grandfather that, should he not die on the adventure, he would be given a new town to rule. And thus, at the age of only 21, Theodastyr set out from his father's manor with a small retinue of men, on the search for glory.
Skills: On occasion, he can be flattering and charming to other people, and his grandfather's name is well-known enough that a well-read bandit may try to ransom him off rather than kill him outright.
The Cave

Rosa silently but eagerly took the offered herbs. Either she wasn't paying attention or was simply being generous, she handed Nammu three golden Septims from her coinpurse.

She bid Kelessa a good night and unfolded a blanket from her pack, laying down away from the campfire and the other men. Despite the obvious lack of comfort, Rosa did not seem too bothered by the cold or the hard ground. Soon enough everyone in the cave felt the inevitable and unstoppable compulsion that can only be brought on by a need for rest. And so they relived themselves of this in the best way: by sleeping.

Later that Night...

The last embers in the campfire had begun to die, darkening the already shadowy cavern. The cave was quiet except for the occasional grunt or snore from one of the workers, and every once in a while, a slight draft came from the newly excavated tunnels. It blew like an icy whisper over the expedition, and the adventurers instinctively braced themselves against the cold. Grimaces crossed their faces unconsciously with each coming of the wind. And then the noise started...

At first, it sounded like rain. A pitter-patter that echoed throughout the cave but then came the shrill metallic sound like someone dragging the edges of two blades sharply across each other. The workers stirred. Then came the deep, reverberating pounding of... drums? At this point nearly everyone in the cave was awake, except for Rosa and the Baronet, who remained seemingly oblivious to the noise. The huge Nord who had cleared the tunnel earlier stood, "What in Oblivion is that?" He hefted his pickaxe and, flanked by two other workmen, approached the diverging tunnels.

As the trio advanced, a piercing screeching came from the right-side tunnel. Mixed with all the previous sounds, it resonated through the cave like a furious wind. It was as if Kyne herself was flying towards them with an army of bats, screaming at them to leave. And then, suddenly bursting from the darkness, came a the source of the continuous screaming: a large horde of Falmer. The trio of workers had no time to lift their weapons before the swarm fell over them, bashing them with axes and stones and their clawed fists. The worker's screams echoed through the cave and then died out as the Falmer abandoned their lifeless bodies and charged into the cave. The workers leapt up with shouts as the Falmer charged towards them, tearing at those closest to the tunnel.

The Baronet's bodyguard burst from their tents, half-dressed and with swords in hand. All but one of them abandoning the Baronet's tent, they joined the fray in a desperate attempt to stop the massacre.

Baronet Theodastyr Camlorn

Theodastyr had been sleeping rather soundly despite the fever dreams that his illness had plagued him with. The herbs Nammu had provided worked like a charm, and he might have slept through the whole battle before he was roughly shaken awake.

"My lord, you must rouse yourself! Demons of the night descend upon us!"

Standing over him was his faithful guardian, Flacus Rian, who was somehow dressed in full armor. His black plate mail and helmet were arranged immaculately and his purple cape hung from his shoulders. He held his greatsword in one hand as he frantically shook his charge.

Nammu

For a moment, three Falmer stopped and sniffed the air, growling at the scent. They broke off from the main group and one began smashing Nammu's work station apart, while the other two leapt at Nammu, smelling the offensive herbs that clung to his robes.

The Cave
Kelessa sat up, the noises arousing her attention, the time used to tie her hair up in a bun, just enough to keep it out the way, then the Falmer arrived. She stepped up, walking towards them allowing magic to clash down on her, cloaking her in armour and placing a sword, two in her hands. She had a rest enough to do that surely. "Finally a Bal-blasted fight.." She grumbled angrily.

Sorry about the wait! I had a date. :P
Windhelm - Prison Exterior

Valentia examined the signet ring, then giggled. "You know, that almost sounds really nice. It'd be something to rub in my parents' faces." she mused. Her voice had dropped most false tones at this point, and she was now speaking quite sincerely. "But I guess you didn't hear; I just got a new job offer. I might be staying around here for a while, running in some interesting circles. So I hope you don't want a housewife, Sir Laennec, because you won't get one out of me."

The guard that Nora spoke to turned bright red under his all-covering helmet. "Y-yes ma'am; er, champion. Right away." he said, taking the body from Nora and heading off to the Hall of the Dead, leaving Eolwyn and Nora on their own outside with the remaining guard, as well as Valentia and Dorian.

Windhelm Prison - Interior

"Twenty-seven in total..." Seeks-the-Lost mumbled, doing the math in her head. "Two given to the younger Linvail, one to the daughter, one to me, and one kept by the father. One in the hands of your party beforehand, and one in the hands of the former Jarl. Of these, your group now holds six. The seventh, I believe the daughter escaped with. The other twenty... I cannot say. It takes time to find them with the ring that I gave you during my capture."

Niralie had entered the room by now, having followed the voices. She had heard everything after "the other twenty".

Windhelm - Temple of Talos

The next injured person Zudeel came across was a bosmer man, aged around the end of 'middle aged'. He wasn't dressed for combat; instead he had the look of a shopkeep about him, or perhaps a bartender. He laid groaning in pain, a nasty gash on his hip.

Nammu - Cave

In the hours prior, Nammu finished up his deeds. He took the donation from Rosa without question, stuffing the coins within a random pouch. He would of seen to each of the others had they willing submitted, those that had not recieved a woefull warning. As night fell deeper, and embers burned slower, idle was the priest once more

Farther into the night, as darkness played with the looming cinders, sleep came so easily to those less hollow. Removed from the warmth that others embraced, one with the darkness and that most frigid. Nammu just sat there, silently upon a lone rock and as still as one too. He just stayed there, hours on end, just staring off into the distance without a reason to say

Then something changed, the silence within the caves was slowly being threatened. He was very clearly still aware by this time, but not a word or warning was spoken, the only response he gave was a vigil glare at the excavated way. As more and more stirred awake, and the climax neared, he merely shifted in his seat and leaned forward with his clasped hands upon his lap, he couldn't help but show a small grin 'This will be.. interesting'

Then the Falmer came, foul dwellers of cities long lost, forsaken race that gravely misplaced their trust. Savagely they tore through, unrelenting as they unleashed their ambush. Then, as if things werent interesting enough, a band of these vandals took insult against his contemporary workstation and even to the priest. Had he been more of the warrior type, he may of welcomed the challenge, but instead he gave a small sigh as if it was more trouble than not.

Ever calm was he, even in clear danger. His staff was near at hand, he was more than mentally prepared for this possibility, but long did he hope not to be as involved as he now must. A twist of a single arm, a quick snap og his fingers and a few solemn words, and so he went to conjure forth his guardians. Two lesser bound Shambles, both with rather shocking personalities, they rarely disappoint. He had hopes to use them as body shields, to intercept his foes mid-range, and do what they do best... mindlessly kill and then die in a blaze of glory

Eolwyn

Watching the guard take Malvirian's body away, Eolwyn deduced that Nora must have decided to enter the Palace instead of visiting the Hall of the Dead.
"After you." She gestured with her hand towards the entrance, where they could make their way to join Grelok and Niralie.

Niralie - Windhelm Jail

"What's going on?" Niralie asked. She knew that they were talking about the threads, but not specifically what was being discussed.

Khazi-daro - Cave

Khazi had always been a light sleeper from her time out on the streets, and she was awakened shortly after the noise began. As soon as she caught sight of the Falmer - creatures she'd neither seen nor even heard of before - she looked for a high point. Preferably a ledge, or maybe a high rock - something she could climb upon - even a tent if it was sturdy enough to support her. If she found one, she would climb up it to get out of the fighting. Open combat really wasn't her thing.

Nora looked mildly confused from the guard and his rather blush approach 'I wonder what's all that about..' It never crossed her mind to charm the guard, then again she didnt dwell on it much. None the less, she followed along with Elowyn to their shared destination

The Cave

Nammu

The two Falmer were stopped in mid-air by the sudden appearance of the conjured Shambles. Unable to feel pain and with mindless rigidity, the first Shamble raked its claws across the face of its target. It silenced the Falmer's screams of agony with a quick slash across the throat. The third Falmer abandoned the workstation and leapt to help his surviving comrade. Together the two Falmer managed to hack off one of its arms. The maimed Shamble simply picked up its arm and stabbed one of them with it. The last Falmer attempted to retreat, but the two Shambles pounced upon it and systematically tore it apart.

With no further orders, the duo charged into the fray where they were quickly obscured from view by the darkness and the swarm of Falmer. Two loud explosions and a sudden drop in temperature told Nammu that they had exploded in a blast of frost magic.

Kelessa

Kelessa found herself fighting side-by-side with Mr. Ruuz and his Argonian friend, Talks-Too-Much. Ruuz fought with one of the Akaviri katanas he had been sharpening earlier. His face was unreadable as he calmly hacked through the screeching Falmer. Meanwhile, Talks-Too-Much appeared to be giving himself a fifty-minute pep talk under his breath. His lack of visible weaponry was explained by his uncanny quickness. He dodged the strikes of the Falmer with ease, owing much to his small size, and delivering roundhouse kicks and sharp punches to his opponents. A Falmer raced towards him and was promptly tripped by a swishing of his long tail. Ruuz finished it off with a quick chop to the neck.

Talks-Too-Much turned and opened his mouth to say something congratulatory to Ruuz, but was cut off as a three-pronged bolt of lightning erupted through the cavern and struck him. The Argonian was sent flying away from the combatants by the blast. Approaching them with a dwarven-made sword in one hand and crackling sparks of lightning in the other was a heavily armored Falmer.

Khazi

There was indeed a somewhat large rock conveniently nearby. Khazi scrambled up the boulder with ease, her claws aiding her in the ascent. From her perch, she had a full view of the battlefield. As a Khajiit, she could see better in the dark than her comrades.

She saw Nammu summon the Shambles and Talks-Too-Much thrown across the cavern as the Falmer mage approached Kelessa and Mr. Ruuz. Standing silhouetted in the entrance to the tunnels was a Falmer beating upon a large, makeshift drum with two human femurs. The Falmer horde seemed to consist entirely of melee fighters. She could see no bowmen among them.

Dorian

"You'd never be a housewife anyway, Dame Rumare." Dorian laughed, "It's better for everyone involved if magic and cooking don't mix."

He grew more serious as he thought over what she'd said, "Here? With the Orc? Do as you will, but someone once told me 'When running with wolves, don't forget about their bite.' And I'm sure I don't need to remind you that you're in particularly wolfish territory... and company."

The Cave

Sinyail, being still close to the entrance of the cave, decided that the best thing to do would be to bring in reinforcements and then blast the... whatever they were with ranged spells.

So, he called upon his trusty battle-proven daedroth to provide the first part, and lightning spells for the second.

The Cave

As Sees-In-Shade awoke to the sound of screaming, his own screaming soon joined it, almost drowning out the sudden thumping of his own heart. As he practically jumped to his feet in the cranny along the wall where he had slept, the startled Argonian reflexively drew his sword and cast a Chameleon spell. Panting, he remembered where he was, and looking around the darkened yet noisy cave, he quickly concluded where he needed to be: anywhere else.

Sees-In-Shade began following the wall as quickly as he could towards the dimly lit entrance - and the ominous sound of drums - praying to no one in particular that the chaos would not block his path.

Baronet Theodastyr Camlorn

The Baronet had been dreaming sweet dreams of a world wherein he was the master of Camlorn, and the whole Tamrielic Empire itself. Just before he was dragged, kicking and screaming, from his dreamworld, he had been sat upon the imperial throne in White-Gold Tower, having praises and gifts lavished upon him by all the nobles of the land.

When his bodyguard shook him, and not at all softly, Theodastyr sprung to attention, jumping so high, so suddenly and with such force that he almost went through the roof of the tent. Due to a mixture of post-fever delirium and the abruptness of his awakening, he wasn't quite sure whether or not he was still in the midst of some awful dream. In a rather nonsensical fashion, he began to exclaim his fear of buggery and of the marauding bandits surely on their way to seize him. It took him a few seconds to regain his sense and composure, and he was rather thankful that only Flacus was present to see his outburst.

"Demons, you say!?! Well, we must deal with this nonsense at once! Fetch me my sword and my armour, and we shall see that these demons are sent back to whatever fiery depths of Oblivion they have come from!" he proclaimed, always fancying himself as a sort of valiant and powerful knight and being perhaps a bit too confused to be cowardly. "I am Theodastyr, son of Baron Tristane, son of Lord Gaspar of Camlorn, and I shall see these demons scattered and driven from my camp as my father or grandfather would do! Let these queer creatures taste steel, I say!"

Windhelm Prison Exterior

Valentia frowned. "Well, what would you have me do? I'm not going back to the University. I'm not going to get caught up in serving Jarl. I'm not sure if I'm even going to start my book over again."

She motioned for him to accompany her into the prison. "Everything I used to do seems so small; this Thieves' Guild business sounds like a step in the chaotic direction, and that's... well, I guess it's what feels right in my heart. So unless you've got a better option for me, this is what I want to do."

With a giggle, she added in a last remark. "If I didn't know better, I'd say you're still sore over being thrown on the table. Literally and figuratively." she teased.

Windhelm Prison Interior

Eolwyn and Nora entered the prison and made it to the room while the Argonian mystic pondered the question.

Seeks-the-Lost hummed for a while and finally answered. "To scry for the location of the other Threads, one would need to have a passing ability in Mysticism, and then use the Ring of Unseen Wisdom in tandem to seek them out. The greater the mystic, the greater the ability to seek the Threads."

Temple of Talos

Zudeel's healing magic washed over the unconscious Elethir, and slowly his wound closed. The bosmer grumbled and groaned as he stirred, and finally opened his eyes. "Th-thank you." he murmured. He would live.

Katlina entered next and looked upon the gathered crowd of healers and patients. She saw Zudeel standing over Elethir, his healing complete.

The young girl that had talked to Zudeel earlier ran up to Katlina with wide eyes. "Are you a champion too?" she asked.

City of Windhelm

Everyone who was currently wearing or holding a thread began to feel the item(s) grow noticeably warm.

Niralie - Windhelm Jail

Niralie wasn't so sure about ignoring something odd like that, especially considering that they were Daedric artifacts, but didn't say anything in response to that, just hoped that he was right.

She shook her head in reply to his question. "No, I'm focused on Restoration and Destruction. And enchanting. Which reminds me... I had an idea earlier: if we need to carry around these things for an extended period of time, it might be a good idea to make some look-alikes; it might buy us some time if we get into any trouble. I imagine the Jarl would be willing to have the city's artisans craft us some, and then I could apply the corresponding enchantment."

Nora - Windhelm Prison(Non occupant FYI)

Prior and even upon entering the dungeon with Eolwyn, Nora had every intent to take things cautiously and at a fair pace. She had questions, and a wierd belt. Some of the words and talk the others were using only confused her 'Threads? Unseen Wisdom? Sanguine Hewing?' She was horribly lost in understanding

"Soo..."

As if things weren't too much, something started to change. Her hand started to feel warm, warmer than it should be... almost unnatural.. as if.. 'The belt!!' As if in a sudden surprise, as if struck by horrible pain, she clinched down her fist over the belt as if to strangle it, over this 'thing' that was wrapped around her palm. Without patience or any kindness she took action

Holding out her bounded fist towards Eolwyn and the rest, all with this look of mixed emotions, she demanded in a dramatic voice "W..What the hell is this!! What the hell is happening?! Is this some trickery?! Explain, now?!" Her teeth were clenched, she was ever tempted to toss this 'foul ember' upon the ground and snuff it out with her boot "This has something to be with your doing, isnt it?!" Nora was in fact very rude by interrupting in this outburst, but in a way it was understandable... or not

Eolwyn - Windhelm Prison

Eolwyn listened to the Argonian speak about how to find other Threads, when Niralie and Grelok started to notice a heat emanating from the ones they possessed.
She put her hand on the outside of her satchel, and sure enough, there was indeed a slight warmth permeating through the leather.
Hmm...this feels suspicious.

The Bosmer looked at the Orc and Altmer in exasperation as they brushed off the sudden occurrence and continued talking. The Nord, however, displayed a much different reaction.

"For Stendarr's sake! You're still wearing them?! I said to take them off when we were outside! Remember in the war room earlier? You said that you would only wear the Threads for as long as you needed them. Do you plan on leaping around the prison? Or throwing a giant fireball? I don't think so. It's bad enough that you've kept them on, but now that they're getting hot then that must mean something's happening with them. So please, for your own sanity and safety, take the accursed things off before you get like the old Jarl, or start fighting each other for them!"
Eolwyn let out a long, exhausted breath after her speech, and glared at Grelok and Niralie in annoyance.

She then turned to Nora, but spoke with a less agitated tone. "Calm down! It's not us. We don't know what's going on with them. Just drop the damn thing on the ground if it's getting you frightened. Or give it to me and I'll keep it in my bag."

The Cave

Sees-In-Shade

In Sees-In-Shade's haste, the effect of the Chameleon spell was imperfect. From close up, one could still see his ghostly outline, though it rendered him invisible to those far away from him.

He stumbled often in his retreat and a sharp stone painfully embedded itself in his foot. He burst out of the cave and into the dark, frigid night. Safe at last, but not alone....

"Leave us, spirit!" a group of three surviving workmen were in front of him, slowly backing away. The one in front and the speaker was a red-haired Imperial in his 30's. He held a pickaxe in one hand and an amulet of Talos in the other. "In the name of the Nine, we command you to begone from us! Return to the cave from which you came, return to your eternal rest and torture us no more!"

"Y-yeah. Get!" it was the short, greasy Reachman who had argued with Nammu earlier. The Redguard next to him nodded his head at every word... or maybe he was just shaking.

Sinyail

The summoned Daedroth, lacking any specific orders, charged straight into the mass of the Falmer horde. It raked at the beasts with large claws, snatching up an armored Falmer and crunching it beneath its teeth. However, their small size made it hard for the large Daedra to fight, especially in the darkness. The Falmer, sensing that it was out of its element, began climbing Sinyail's Daedroth. It roared in pain as the ascending Falmer began stabbing indiscriminately. As it bellowed, it scorched the cave with its breath of fire.

Sinyail's bolts of lightning soared through the cavern, filling the air around him with static. He was unable to see if his spell had it anything, but it most likely had. However, the light provided by the brief magic allowed him to see a transparent figure racing past him: Sees-In-Shade.

Theodastyr
Hidden:
Your armor and weapon can be whatever you want. Within reason, of course.
Flacus frowned as Theodastyr made his request. But loyal to a fault, he retrieved the Baronet's gear, helping him into the armor and handing him his sword.

"Stay behind me, my lord." Flacus cautioned, "And do not let the beasts surround you, lest they pull you to the ground and devour you."

The duo burst out of the tent and into the cavern witnessing the full scale of the battle. At there emergence many of the Falmer turned their heads and raced towards them with knives in hand and continuing their devilish screeching.

One leapt out of the shadows at what it perceived to be the weakest target: Theodastyr. As it flew past, Flacus beheaded it with a single, powerful strike. The head rolled to Theodastyr's feet, spurting blood and showing its sharp teeth.

Khazi

Not even her own allies were able to detect Khazi. For all intents and purposes, she was effectively invisible. A band of Falmer were racing past her boulder, heading towards Flacus and the Baronet. Also nearby, Rosa was backed against a wall by a pack of the savages. With a motion of her hand and a blaze of light, she drew a wall of flames between her and the Falmer.

She fired arrow after arrow at the leering Falmer, but they deflected many with their shields. Already, the line of fire was beginning to die down. It was only a matter of time before they would be able to cross it.

Dorian

Dorian followed her into the prison. "Oh, I certainly do have a better option. But its an open invitation, so you'll have to wait until later to find out. Though I promise you, it's a real doozy."

"I've got bruises yes, but not just from that. Burns too. Who knows? You might see them later as well."
