Just like the Imperial Soldiers Types, let us imagine some dwemer machines of war variants. There are some rules in it:
1. Star Wars: You are allowed to refer some of your machine types with Star wars droids but you cannot name them similar.
Wrong:
Hidden:
Dwemer Droideka: A wheeled dwemer machine with some crossbows.
Right:
Hidden:
Dwemer polybow droid: A droideka like machine with crossbows instead of blasters.
2. Army Creation: You must clearly differentiate between all your created troop types using bullets or points. If you believe a little citation is needed, clearly state that aside.

The troops are divided as polybows, centurions and spheres. Each of them have their own abilities.....
Right:
Hidden:
Dwemer Centurion: Colossal Steel Golems with steam breathing power.
Dwemer Infantry Droid: Small sized droids that are deadly in packs.
Alongside being of different shapes and sizes, each have different.....

Yeah. I always think of them more as Brass Atronachs than anything else. Dwemeri science involves a lot of fantasy aspects that don't exist in real world science and engineering. The Dwemer used alchemy, enchanting and a unique form of magic they called Tonal Architecture in their greatest creations, including Numidium.
Monsters are bred in labyrinths, labyrinths are bred from walls. There is a reason the Giants choose to remain nomadic rather than follow their shield kin the Nords in building permanent settlements. The Tower is the beginning of all walls.
Not in this context, no. The dwemer automatons aren't purely technologically driven like droids in Star Wars. There's a magical, living essence involved since they all require a soul gem (or in the Numidium's case, the Heart of Lorkhan). I don't really think it's quite correct to call them 'droids' in that case, they're more akin to atronachs from what I understand.
In Star Wars and the real world, Droids need batteries to work while in Skyrim, they need soul gems to work. There is not much difference between a soul gem and a battery. Anyways, we are here to make types of dwemer machines not discuss about them being droids or others.
