The books are a great deal of the athmosphere in the games. Entire lore you discuss is based on them too.

The grammar is sometimes a bit wrong, but given styles of certain books it may suit the text.

The architecture is the major factor in proper level design. To say something is better than the other would only describe your taste.

So do you think you could have done better if you were given the choice to make the game?

There are a few glaring mistakes, but overall they do a good job.

How important are books in the games?
You can play and enjoy all of these games without reading a single book, but you'd be missing out on the greater part of what fills out the background lore and makes the world seem bigger and more interesting than what's presented in the game's engine. So, pretty important if you want the full picture.
Which race is the most educated of all?

In the traditional sense we'd recognize, Bretons, Altmer and Imperials value education the most. Other races may be academically trained but are more likely to value magic, combat valor, tribal bonds or spiritual piety.

Could the grammar in these games be better if they were a little more complex?
I don't really understand what you're asking here.

How important is art?
Dibella is the goddess of art and beauty, and she's worshiped by several different races. Things like statues, gardens and paintings are very common all across Tamriel. I'd say art is very important.

Which civilization is best at architecture?
That's probably a very subjective thing, don't you think? Most races' architecture is suited to the environment in which it's built.
Are the books in the games interesting or useless?
They're useful if you want to flesh out your understanding of Tamriel, as its citizens see it, and enjoy some good stories. You can enjoy the games without ever picking up a single book and reading it, but you're missing out on a lot.
Would you like it if the game consisted of more complex words?
I don't really see why that's necessary. More complex words don't necessarily denote a higher intelligence, nor are they always better at conveying a message than simpler ones.

Is Skyrim a bit much modern?
By whose standards?

Is the horned Viking helmet at all acceptable?

In the real world, no. It's probably not historical at all. In Tamriel, sure. Tamriel has its own unique history. Ancient Nords in Tamriel definitely did wear horned helmets. There's really no comparison because Skyrim is not meant to be a part of ancient Earth in any way, shape or form. It's a completely alien world.
Monsters are bred in labyrinths, labyrinths are bred from walls. There is a reason the Giants choose to remain nomadic rather than follow their shield kin the Nords in building permanent settlements. The Tower is the beginning of all walls.

I checked out the 'better dialogue overhaul' mod. That is what I speak of.
Does anyone think that Old London font would be appropriate for Skyrim?

I think the fonts used back in TES II and III would suit it better. Classic never gets old.

I'm not exactly sure what you're getting at here, this is a pretty vague thing to ask.

But I dig Skyrim's font. 'Modern' or not, it's unobtrusive, and I love that.

As far as the way people speak and/or grammar is handled. I'm glad it isn't super old english-y. That stuff gets aggravating after a while. ES does a good job of maintaining a Medieval atmosphere without directly adapting it. It does its own thing, including the manner in which people speak. It's almost unfair to compare the setting to a real historical period.

Overall, this post is for those people which like history and English language and literature.
1. Usually fair
2. Pretty important as events from bygone and unseen eras are described to the player
3. Probably the Altmer, as High Elves seem to be the most educated/intelligent
4. Art seems to be appreciated throughout Tamriel as you can see elaborated & illustrious structures and region-unique masterpieces in Morrowind, Cyrodiil and even in Skyrim so I'd say that art has a prominent place in Tamrielic society.
5. Do extinct/presumed extinct civilizations count? If so then I'd say the Ayleids or the Dwemer otherwise Dunmer or Nedic/Imperial.
6. They're useful for the reasons I listed in #2, lots of them are interesting fun reads such as the Cabin in the Woods, Palla, and the Locked Door.
7. The games are/were fine as they are, there's no need to over complicate things with an elaborate vocabulary unless we're talking about an in-game cultural thing like the High Elves for example who already use big words anyway.
8. Is this in a vernacular sense? I don't think Skyrim is any more modern than Morrowind or Cyrodiil (Oblivion) in the sense that no one has really spoken ye' olde English since Arena and Daggerfall.
9. Sure why not? They're Nords after all.
