And yet, you didn't visit the garden!? Good as it's rather filthy and filled to the brim with rotting teabags. That and the fact that i happen to live in the garden of England has nothing to do with the remains of my UESP foes being found every year. And no, London is not part of the garden. London is classed as it's own thing. Bloody London with it's city and it's smog and it's lack of proper teabags. I mean, where do they get off on... *goes on a massive anti-london rant before going onto a rant about Aarah's lists about lists about lists*

I saw this on a Rick Steve (traveling show) episode. My last post may have been about how I enjoy learning/experiencing cultural differences, but this is where I draw the line. I would have to rinse my mouth for weeks!

This basically restricts you to NYC. Our touristy areas are generally hot. I say FL is the absolute worst though admittedly I may be biased.

Honestly for me though I just don't like the mosquitoes. The heat I can handle but the mosquitoes are unbearable.

After that, we left England and went to Ireland for a good period of time, went from Dublin, to Blarney/Cork, then to Killarney, up through to Clifden, and then back to England via Dublin ferry. We then spent a week or so in York, and then headed home.

And, I must say, that's a very nice country you've got there (speaking for England of course, though Ireland was great too).
Did you kiss the Blarney stone?

I went to the Cotswolds last year and been to London several times, didn't like the capital much, but it was for 'business' so that might have tainted the experience somewhat.

Sounds like you had a right old tour! I would like to visit the U.S. and Canada. British Columbia looks lovely, and Vancouver looks cool.

Admittedly? Yes. I have mixed feelings about doing so.
I ended up doing it, Leroy, because I figured I might as well while I was there. Though I was resistant, it seemed better not to regret it later.

British Columbia is amazing, definitely a great place to go in Canada. Vancouver is one of the coolest cities I've been to, and the nature there is just as excellent. I can't speak for eastern Canada (never been), but Quebec and Toronto are supposed to be nice, though mainly French-speaking (not so much the case in Toronto, though).
As far as the US, I'd recommend Northern California (particularly San Francisco & its surrounding areas like Berkeley and the northern rural areas [Muir Woods, etc.], Yosemite is cool but it's more central and a [&@%!] to get to from San Fran), the Seattle/Puget Sound region (and while you're in the area, Portland and Astoria are lovely), Colorado (particularly in autumn, it's incredible in the mountains. Denver is a nice city to stay in, but if you want the real mountain experience I'd suggest going somewhere like Aspen or Steamboat Springs [Glenwood Springs is nice and central too, albeit closer to Grand Mesa and the drier parts of the state]). In Central and Southern California, areas of no disappointment are San Diego, or Morro Bay. Steer clear of Los Angeles unless you ever plan to visit me.

I'm admittedly a Westerner—I haven't visited much east of the Mississippi. I have been to Washington D.C., though, which is quite nice. Also been to Baltimore, which I remember being pretty decent, but very, very urbanized. Virginia is quaint, but admittedly it doesn't seem like there's much to do there. If anything I'd recommend taking a day trip down there from D.C. I'd love to visit New Orleans some day, but I haven't gotten the chance.

Oh, sorry for the paragraphs. I'm a travel [&@%!].

Depends on where you go in Quebec. Montreal is fully bilingual, so you likely won't run into much trouble even if you don't understand a word of French. Ottawa is the same, though it leans a bit more on the English side and Montreal more towards the French. Quebec City, though, is very dominantly French-speaking, and I would imagine the smaller towns are even more so.

Vancouver/B.C. in general is still on my "yet-to-visit" list, and it's high priority, especially now that I've made a bunch of friends from there in uni. I'd also like to see the Maritime provinces out east. Great nature/small-town sightseeing, and crazy accents; what's not to like?

For potential visitors, I can also vouch for Alberta having some cool stuff. Banff in the Rocky Mountains is beautiful all year round (I went in the summer). The Calgary Stampede takes place each July, and come winter my friends from there all talk about how great the skiing is. There's also the West Edmonton Mall, which has its own arcade, mini amusement park, and full-size water park. (And yes, lots of stores.) Alberta's a great way to get a feel for just how big Canada is, while still getting to do some touristy things, in the same way that Toronto is the best place to see the diverse urban side of the country, and how Quebec City is the place to go to experience the history of Canada.
Start the groove.

Where else in the World have you been, Weasel? Or maybe it's too long a list! :P
In comparison, I'm very poorly travelled, so there's loads of places that I'd like to see. Russia, Iceland, Switzerland and Norway or Sweden are favourable for Europe. (Note the lack of hot places. :P ) I'd love to see the Northern Lights too. I saw them where I live once, which was lucky to see them further south, but it would be amazing to see them in their full glory.

It's not too long, especially excluding the UK, US, Ireland, and Canada. I've been to Germany (three times! More specifically, I've visited Munich, Berchtesgaden, Rothenburg ODT, Berlin, Görlitz, and Dresden), Austria (also three times! Most time spent in Vienna, Salzburg, and Hallstatt), the Czech Republic (Prague, and a brief swim in the Vltava at Český Krumlov), and Poland (briefly, not my favorite place). Also been to Hawai'i three times, once to Kauai, once to Maui, and once to the island of Hawai'i itself.

Always wanted to visit Iceland or somewhere in Scandinavia, or maybe even Svalbard. Cold tundras intrigue me.

I always wanted to venture to the UK, tho not exactly London >_> Also Spain, bc [&@%!] yea

You should totally come by Canada, may I recommend Toronto? Its a big city for sure, with plenty of variety. Its proximity to the coast and decent weather temp is also worth considering. But all in all, Canada is just great, just swell

Like wise I cant speak too much for the US. Maybe visit Dohva up in Alaska(watch out for bears tho) or maybe one of the big cities like NY(watch out for the thugs) or the capital (watch out for the politics). Per the temp, maybe stick to the northern states along the border

I live near a few tourist attractions, County Louth has a fair amount of them, especially related to Irish mythology. That's why Louth is called the Land of Legends. If I look out my bedroom window I can see a Fairy Tree. I'm about a kilometer away from Cú Chulainn's stone where the legendary Irish hero is said to have died. But most exciting of all, a little bit to the north, past Dundalk is The Magic Road. "The Magic Road, why ever is it called that Kerr? Is it where the magic tractor turned into a field?" No, watch. Play both videos at the same time for the full effect.

There are trees around Colorado where I'm originally from that are bent over at the base of the trunk, and then bend straight back up at the end of the horizontal bend.
They were Ute Prayer Trees, and they always bent west toward Tavakiev, the "Sun Mountain" (Pikes Peak) that was the most sacred ground for them. They bent those trees toward the mountain so that people could make the pilgrimage from hundreds of miles away to the sacred grounds in the Rockies, just by following them.\
