In need of a little help on PS3 Skyrim

Post by wheelman_23 »

Hello,
I am in need of a little bit of help on the PS3 version of Skyrim, and in hopes someone on the forum has played it - or DOES play it, I'm in need of wondering two things : Is there any EASY way to raise the Destruction skill so that way I could purchase the tome for the Fireball spell (So I could sell the one or two scrolls of fireball I was saving for the Break of Dawn quest, hahaha. :) ), and my second question in which I need help with is this : I came close to going into a cave in Whiterun hold that has one of the words of power to - I believe the Fire Blast (not sure), and outside at the entrance is a high elf mage, and - I always hate fighting high elves because it makes the player-character an automatic enemy of ALL of the Thalmor/High Elf clan. I am in need of help to prevent myself from having those paid (and armored) assassins want to kill me in the name of the Aldmeri Dominion.....or do I just go ahead and kill the guy and go ahead to make myself an enemy of the Thalmor, since I'll be doing things against them later in the game anyway (The thalmor embassy infiltration quest, then saving that one dude in Riften's Ratway - etc. etc.). On an enchanting trouble I WAS having, I saw a video on YouTube recently that gave a tutorial on how to raise the enchanting. Might try that out sometime, because I hope to get the perk that allows TWO enchantments. :) Thank you, forum folks and take care. I'm kind of a newbie here.

Easy way to level Destruction? Not really. It's a notoriously hard skill to level, and your best bet is just use it on every enemy you see.

The High Elf question has an easier answer: Go ahead and kill him. For one, the Thalmor hate you anyway; two, killing him won't affect any faction relations at all.

Good luck on the Enchanting, it's on of the best skills, but it's a pain to raise to a high level.

Faction relations are not related the way you think they are. :) Doesn't make any difference if you kill them, to anyone.

For destruction, or any combat skill for that matter, healing spell in one hand, destruction spell in the other. then just grind them out against something with high health (reduces the risk of accidentally killing your opponent) healing it as needed.

The spell should be available at level 40 destruction IIRC; Farengar or Faralda will stock it.

Don't forget to swap your standing stone bonus before levelling a skill, it saves time.

Yeah, enchanting is annoying. What I did was to store and fill every single soul gem I came across as well as various cheap weapons and armors I made when leveling Smithing, and when I was about level 40, stacked up mage stone, well rested and lovers stone (through Aetherium crown), disenchanted a few items I had stored for that purpose, and made helova lot enchanted items at once using up various petty, lesser and common gems. Did some 25-100 skill in one go.

Destruction...well, there's one, rather...cheap and unsavory trick. Load up with as many magic regen and restore magic potions as possible, go to Windhelm. There is...pretty much guaranteed random encounter on the road just west from Windhelm stables, around the bridge. If you save on a good spot, like the crossroads, you can load until the random encounter generated is M'aiq. Poor Khajit is an excellent practice target. He will take damage but won't die, won't incur a bounty for attacking him, and he won't attack you.
