What kind of Roleplays do you like?

So this is something I've wondered for a while, and might be beneficial for current and future DMs/GMs.

There are lots of different paths a roleplay can take, and lots of styles they can take on. But what is the consensus for this particular group of RPers on what you enjoy the most? This poll is an attempt to answer that question.

So, choose your top 3 styles of RPs and let's see if we can crack this egg! While all RPs probably contain several elements of each of these styles, there is usually one driving theme. That's what I'm looking for. What central RP theme do you like the most?

Action - runnin' and gunnin'
Adventure - explorin' and stuff
Comedy - wat even is this?
Drama - mainly character interaction
Horror - somethin' bad's gonna happen
Mystery - whodunnit?
Romance - I love you.
Thriller - Ohmygosh!
War - War never changes splosions, factions, and such

I've voted: War - Drama - Adventure

War and Drama were easy; I love war-torn settings whether it's just in the background or the foreground, and for ages I've wanted to run a massive RP set across a corrupt and war torn world filled with different factions and groups, and with loads of characters spread out across a huge area, all trying to work towards their own goals alongside the main overarching plot.

The last choice was a bit of a toss-up between Thriller and Adventure, but in the end I looked over my (admittedly short) roleplaying history and decided that I usually leaned more towards Adventure (Pioneer, Rough Seas, Fallout) than Thriller (RotLD), so I went for that.

I like roleplays about regular people who try to hang onto their own personal goals and help their own friends and family while being sucked into the political maneuvering of the higher ups all around them, and having adventures all over the place while having their morals tested. Where you have three different groups of characters, all doing their own quests in different places, and growing close or falling out, with all of it tying together in the end. That's why I tried to get characters with detailed backstories and personal ties to the world in my own two RP attempts. (That's ''Shadows of the Past'', and ''God Wills It''. Neither of which lasted all that long, so it makes sense if you've forgotten them and are wondering what the hell I'm talking about )

Easily Drama, Horror and Adventure. I love RPs with these three elements and tend to stick to them more easily than others. Any dark fantasy that has good characters and an eerie aura to it will have me coming back again and again for more. Examples of this being The Coming Dark, Revised World of Night, World of Darkness: Shadows of Ireland and Blacklight: Day of the Wolf to name four.

In short, adventure n action, followed by drama n mystery. I may go into greater detail on another day

I went for:

Adventure: "Let's go over there and see what we can find!!"
Drama: "What did Pete do yesterday, Susan?"
Mystery: "What the hell is that!!!"

I like creating my own stories. Think of this: A kid runs into a pack of wolves and gets protected by a traveler and then the kid joins him in a mysterious adventure. In the 2/3 part, the adventurer dies but the kid completes the adventure and becomes a hero.

My roleplays tend to evolve into something resembling a Terry Gilliam film.

Action, adventure and thriller. I also love me some drama but could only pick three.

I just love a nice actionpacked roleplay, with interesting characters, a well-paced story and high stakes. Very high stakes. I like RP's in which any mistake can be the character's last and in which death is final. No deus ex machina twists; he/she [&@%!] up, he/she dies if it's the logical conclusion.
Not a big romance fan, but I do admit that that is partially due to the fact that I come from a site where that sort of thing was always determined beforehand and really forced down your throat. Myeh.

I was considering that, tbh, but I think I need to develop my TES characters a little further before they are RP ready.

It's a little different than that, yo. It's not just ES we do! There's a Dragon Age RP going on, as well as a Fallout RP, and an original universe to name a few. In addition to Tamrielic Adventures, of course. A lot of them suffce whipping up a new character in ~15 minutes and hopping in, but whatever you'd like to do

Oh, that's nice. Currently I'd stick to Skyrim though, haven't been able to play it in ages, so now I need lots of Skyrim in my life.
