Lakeview Manor Nails and Half-Moon Mill Lumber

A couple of problems with my first homestead:

Arrived at the site and built the foundation of the starter house.

Wanted to go ahead with the next step, the wall framing, which requires nails. Found iron in the chest and used the anvil - but there is no nails in the menu to select from to craft (or any other HF items). Went back to Falkreath- no nails there either.

The above was before I went to Half-moon Mill to buy lumber. Thought maybe this should be done first. Got to the mill and was attacked by a Dragon. The Dragon kills Hert and I cannot ask permission to cut my own logs. The quest marker is still there so I use the mill. No matter how many logs I cut it will not clear the quest marker.

Probably two unrelated glitches.

Go to a different mill, there are lots of NPCs who will sell you lumber. Very odd that the nails aren't showing up - are you sure you've explored every blacksmithing menu?

Yes I read on the wiki about going to a different mill. So that's fixed.

As for the other- is there different blacksmith menus I am not seeing? I looked primarily at iron and steel.

Can't remember. Is there not a Misc menu?

There is separate menu called "Building Materials" containing iron hinges, nails, lock and one more I can't recall. It doesn't require any perks.

Yep I found it - finally.

The left hand menu of categories does not show all of the categories initially. If you click in one to bring up the item menu you cannot scroll the category menu. What finally worked is to click in a blank space in the category menu and then scroll all the way to bottom to show every category, then click on a category to bring up those specific items.

Glad everything was just simple operator error.
