This has happened before, albeit rarely. One of my followers disappears. No, not for 24 hours or even a few levels, just gone. period. Of the two Jemane Bros I prefer Guilbert as a Leader and a fighter...generally letting the drunk stumble his own way through the quests.
I used the console to place me at Guilbert's Ref ID., and sure enough, I was whisked away to Moranda (exterior, roughly 200 feet from the doorway). I enabled Tcl on and scoured the area, and no Guilbert to be found. This has happened precisely once before...never found Guilbert. All patched, all UOPs, no follower mods, and followers were limited to the two Jemane bros as I play on close to maximum difficulty and they have come in pretty handy at times.
Any suggestions as to what to do here? I'm loathe to make a "copy" of Guilbert unless it has no consequences. I can't reload to a save when this occurred as it's been ten levels and I'm well into Shivering at the present.
Perplexed. Thanks.

Did you try disable, enable, and then moveto player?
If that doesn't work, try resurrect and then moveto player.

Re: Missing Guilbert Jemane
Thanks for the advice.. For some unknown reason I 've wound up with 2 copies of Guilbert Jermane now instead of none <G> Does anyone have a suggestion how to rid myself of one of the copies so I'm back with Reynald and one Guilbert. I did use the Base ID with the placeatme command....which I found out after the fact was not recommended by the UESP as essential characters with a copy brought to them will not necessarily follow quest scripts...SOoooo, when I ultimately return the Jermane Bros to Weatherleah, I have the sinking feeling that the quest will not play out properly, and I will be "out" a possible Escutcheon of Chorrol. I had to have this problem didn't I? LOL Thanks for any and all advice. Cheers.

Re: Missing Guilbert Jemane
I don't think having two Guilberts would effect the outcome of the Sins of the Father quest. It's not like the quest depends on whether they survive or not. They're always essential until you actually complete that quest anyway.
Shouldn't you be able to just click and disable one of them?
But no it's probably best to load a previous save to avoid any possible bugs.
And never use "placeatme" again. NEVER! If you need to find an NPC, look up their RefID and use "<RefID>.moveto player" or "player.moveto <RefID>".

You'd be surprised how many weird bugs can happen when you duplicate a non-generic NPC.
