I believe the vampirism thing was because of the specific strain, not her being a vestige. I believe the lore on the Bloodfiends specified they were all largely unaffected by sunlight. In fact, I believe the guy you did the Rivenspire quests for walked around in broad daylight.
Monsters are bred in labyrinths, labyrinths are bred from walls. There is a reason the Giants choose to remain nomadic rather than follow their shield kin the Nords in building permanent settlements. The Tower is the beginning of all walls.

I haven't done the vampire quest, but I think the reason Lamae Bal makes you a Scion is because you are a soul shriven. The strain is one thing, but being a Scion is something unique.

To be honest, I know there's at least two distinct Vampire quest lines in ESO. I haven't encountered any in the Dominion stuff yet. Assuming Lamae is late in the Covenant quest line? I'm aware she appears in this game, but I've only beaten the Ebonheart Pact quest line 100% of the three. The vampire story line in that one was a little bland and under-whelming. Pretty good for a quest that's basically an excuse to give the Vampire skill tree to players, mind you, but I liked the Rivenspire vampire story line in the Covenant lands better.

I had to look up Soul Magic, that's pretty cool. But, what's "friendly fast travel"? Transporting to your friends? And what drawbacks do you lack as a vampire?legoless wrote:Lore-friendly fast travel, badass soul magic, a unique ability to harness the power of vampirism without a lot of the drawbacks... A good few quests also involve doing things like forfeiting your soul or walking through soul-tearing barriers without any ill effect.Leckan wrote:Does the Vestige have any power besides immortality and self-resurrection?
There are also the numbers. Glirion the Redbeard actually talks about the multitude of soulless adventurers wandering Tamriel - thousands of 'potential' Soulless Ones. They can do some serious damage in a group.
And wait, if you have no soul in your body, then how do you give up your soul or suffer from soul-tearing barriers?

Actually, she's from a World quest. Similar to the guild questlines, becoming a vampire involves travelling through a portal to an Alliance-neutral area. So everyone has the same experience getting the skill tree - those vampiric quests you encounter in Rivenspire are actually the zone's main questline.Pilaf The Defiler wrote:To be honest, I know there's at least two distinct Vampire quest lines in ESO. "Lore-friendly". See this and the related sources for info on ESO's fast travel system from a lore perspective. And my point is that you can't give up your soul, so you're immune to stuff that might kill a mortal.Leckan wrote: But, what's "friendly fast travel"? Transporting to your friends?
