^ Agreed. We must move faster into another topic. (This scene bothers the hell out of me, he downshifted and the Jeep barely reacted. Also it was a bad time to downshift.)

I read a few of the recent rants, and this is not meant as a direct comment at anyone one of those.

Is it weird that I've never been excited at the announcement of any pregnancy in my family? I've been excited for friends who have been pregnant, but the only family members of mine who have been pregnant have not been in a good position to be pregnant.

One of my best mates has that there thing.

One day I'll say 'Ey want to catch beer and watch a game' and he'll agree, say the same thing a day later and he'll be offended. Certainly makes for an interesting relationship, but it can cause a fair amount of issues too; best of luck to ye.

How long have you guys been diagnosed and what do you take for it?

Thanks for the well wishes yall are the best.

I've learned a lot about how the mind works over the years and I've discovered how to manage my issues believe it or not. I used to be losing my [&@%!] a few times a week now it's literally like a once every few months (if that). That's a powerful statement, it takes years to rewire how your brain operates/thinks. It can be done but it takes serious [&@%!] work every day and it's boring as hell. I know this is a bit cryptic but I'm not gonna give medical advice on an internet forum. Anyway it takes a lot of discipline and as I start to feel better I slip up and go back to my old ways. That's where I am at my age, so I'm actually not so bad off. I think in like <5 years I will be completely rid of said bi polar.

I have MDD and NPD diagnosed, not BPD. My therapist says she isn't sure, but I am. The person I'm dating has it, and our symptoms and feelings are so similar that I have no doubt. I don't take any psych meds. You can all go read/follow my blog if you wanna know more about mental illness and what it's like, I post about that a lot. Also about gender and sexuality (or lack thereof, rather) stuff.

Maybe it's because I'm a woman and we love babies...but I've always been thrilled when friends and family come out with the news even if they aren't in the best of positions. It just means I get to spend a whole lot of $$$ on baby stuff...because babies are adorable and blessings nonetheless.

Also, RE Bipolar: It all depends on how you take care of yourself. I have a friend who is Bipolar (granted, there's two types which manifest differently too) but she takes her medications, sees a psychiatrist on the regular, exercises, eats healthy, has 3 children...and lives a relatively healthy, well balanced life. She has her moments but they aren't bad for the most part, more moody type stuff. But ages ago now, I dated a man who is Bipolar, and he drank, smoked, did drugs on occasion, and he (still) lives an unhealthy lifestyle partying and being wild. He's almost 50 now. He has serious issues, is suicidal at times, etc. I hear about him from time to time because we have mutual friends. He's still up to the same antics and he just gets crazier and crazier as time progresses. And we're talking serious stuff like he sees [&@%!], thinks the cops are after him, blows all his money, gets fired from jobs, hurts people, etc. Mental illness isn't anything to be ashamed of, it just has to be managed properly or else it will take you down.

Not all women love babies... Speaking as one who can't tolerate children or babies.
Hm. Maybe saying I can't tolerate them is putting it mildly. They drive me insane.

At this point, I'm just glad that nobody in my family has announced a pregnancy (that I know of. I only know half of the family because my father's side consists of bunch of abusive [&@%!]). But once it happens (and it might not be long if my not-quite-15 cousin keeps doing what she's doing), I'll be the one that goes "Ew." Of course, if it's my cousin, I'll also be the one to tell her she's a [&@%!] idiot. She's already cutting herself and doing drugs to try and "fit in," so...
