Been forgetting to do Paragon and Renegade, whoops.
Hard gained +3 Renegade.
Calor gained +3 Paragon.

Deck 2 - CIC

"Right..." Takora muttered. Why was she keeping him on in the first place? Krogan were valuable shock troops, sure, but...

The Captain cleared her throat and went over to her console in the center of the CIC. She tapped a button which produced a holo-interface for the ship's intercom system.

"This is Captain Takora." she announced. "We're departing from the Citadel as I speak. ETA to the Widow Relay is about 10 minutes, then we'll be making the jump to a nearby system. Won't be long now."

Deck 4 - Forward Batteries

The posted Asari engineer, a young woman by Asari standards, merely rolled her eyes and 'humphed' at Broktar's comment as she continued to work.

Captain Takora's message resounded through the deck.

Drau Broktar listened to Takora's words, then gave another thin smile in the engineer's direction. "You hear that crap often enough, I'm sure. Doesn't make it any less true. But don't worry. Even by Krogan standards, I'm harmless."

The old Krogan then tore the ship in half with a singularity field resumed his examination of the weapons, satisfied in having tormented the poor Asari with cheesy compliments.

Cehan was either too clueless or too polite to pick up on Broktar's flirting, instead thinking to himself, "Reaper tech. I suppose it was necessary, and the danger's gone now, but it still feels wrong. What if... what if the Reapers become like the Protheans to some later generation?"

He didn't voice these thoughts, instead muttering to the Krogan, "The guns aren't calibrated correctly."

Broktar turned to face Cehan. "What? How do you...Okay, go tell it to the engineer, there. Tell her what to fix. If you just start waving around your omni-tool right away, people will think you're a saboteur again."

"About time." Churkan remarked as he searched for the crew quarters and a room that was big enough to handle him. He always hated waiting on board ships before a battle as the one thing that he truely loathed was the possibility of being killed before he even had the [&@%!] chance to face his enemy in glorious battle. She better have a good [&@%!] plan or i'm using the Churkan method. He thought to himself whilst questing for the crew quarters.

Calor found a place to sit down as he waited for the ship to depart.

Cehan chewed that advice over for a second, shifting his feet nervously. Finally, he nodded and approached the Asari engineer.

"Excuse me, but your guns aren't working at optimal capacity. Is that regulation?" he asked, inclining his head.

Deck 2 - CIC

"If he causes trouble..." Takora muttered as she looked to her lieutenant. "Space him." she added. She was quiet enough for Hard not to hear, though Calor did. It was up to him whether or not he wanted to do something about it.

Hard found a map of the ship on a wall, pinpointing the location of the crew quarters on the Deck 3.

The Hestia soon hit the Mass Relay and launched off into the next system.

Deck 4 - Main Batteries

"I'm sorry?" the asari engineer asked as she peered over the console. "Oh, yes. The guns always have a bit of a heating issue at maximum capacity, so we have to run things a little lower than maximum. Standard regulation."

Despite her words, Cehan could see through his engineering expertise that improvements were still possible.

Cehan frowned, "It's a simple problem: the excess heat could probably be nullified or controlled with some work. At most, you might need to upgrade the guns, but you're working with the Spectres and the Thessian Navy. Credits shouldn't be too much of an issue, right?"

Deck 4 - Main Batteries

The engineer frowned back. "They're the latest model, it's just... experimental technology, you know? If you think you can calibrate them better with the console, you're welcome to try."

Calor decided to keep Takora's comment to himself. If the Krogan knew they were considering spacing him if he acted up, he would probably start acting up. Nothing good would come of telling him, it certainly wouldn't make him behave.

Churkan made his way towards the crew quarters on deck 3 and wondered if he would be sharing a quarter with a lovely assari at the cost of having little room or having an entire room to himself.

"Oh! A-all right then." Cehan blustered for a moment, not having anticipated being asked to work on it. He stepped over to the console and switched on his omni-tool. He'd cut communications with Veollma as soon as he'd left C-Sec custody for fear of being discovered. He'd probably try to reestablish contact when he had some privacy.

As he worked, he muttered the steps and caluclations quickly under his breath, the words barely discernible due to the rate at which he worked, and thus, spoke.

Deck 2 - CIC

Takora stepped away from the console in front of her and approached Calor. "Thanks for trying to rein him in. Looks like nothing muscle, and the brain isn't a muscle, is it?"

Deck 3 - Crew Quarters

Upon reaching the third deck, the smell of a kitchen hard at work hit Hard's nostrils. It smelled of Salarian cuisine, which usually involved a lot of salt.

Deck 4 - Forward Batteries

Vague because maths and guns is hard
Cehan's mathematic solution fit the bill nicely. It was an oversight on the designer's part, and with a few minor alterations, Cehan harmlessly siphoned excess power from non-essential, hardly-used systems to allow for additional power and heat efficiency from the Thanix cannon. The numbers on the console showed improvements on almost all fronts.

The posted engineer blinked. "I... Can't believe I didn't think about that." she mentioned. "I... wow. Thank you!"

"Damn Salarian and their salt." Hard muttered whilst walking towards the crew quarters. Whilst he would eat anything, he have a strong hatred of having too much salt in his food but made a note to not beat up the fool that made it too salty. At least, not now. Maybe, a few years back, he would have but now? he had a damn purpose and by his quads, his shotgun, he would fufill it. Oh and save the entire colony.

"Amused response: No, intelligence doesn't seem to be that one's strong suit. I'm surprised he didn't accidentally discharge his weapon." said Calor looking at the Asari Captain. Asari were hardly a rare sight but it had been months since he'd spoken to a member of their military. "Curiously: You must have a lot of experience to be the captain of your own ship. How long have you been in the military?"

Deck 2 - CIC

Takora smiled when Calor spoke to him. It was nice to have a polite guest on the ship. "Oh, me? Well, I'm six-hundred and thirty-seven right now, so... er, close to two-hundred, something in that area. Lucky enough not to have gotten killed yet, so they gave me a ship."

Deck 3 - Crew Quarters

Hard came into the view of the kitchen and saw that there was indeed a salarian behind the counter, working at a breakneck pace for krogan standards. There were two fridges behind him, one labeled for levo-amino and one for dextro-amino, indicating the ship had some turian crewmen as well.

"Courteously: I joined the military when I became an adult but only did one tour. Then when the Reapers attacked I re-enlisted, I only finished that tour recently." said Calor. It was rare for Calor to be forthright with his past towards strangers but this was hardly private information he was revealing. If the Captain had checked his history then she would already know all this.

Churkan ignored the Salarian for they were not on his radar at this point in time but did notice some Turian food. He wasn't surprised that they would have been involved for he was used to various races working together but he did respect the turians due to their miltary prowess.

Cehan smiled, "No problem. Well, it was, but... Never mind. Glad I could help."

Not wanting to appear too socially-incompetent, he attempted to continue the dialogue, "I'm Cehan Haraji, I don't think I caught your name?"

Deck 2 - CIC

Any further conversation was disturbed by a ping emanating from the commanding officer's panel. The voice of the pilot resounded over the intercom.

"Captain Takora, we have a distress signal coming from the Hades Gamma Cluster. Plutus system, planet Nonuel." spoke a male voice; it sounded Turian. "Patching it through."

A static-filled signal started playing.

"...got civilians in the facility here. Requesting assistance, we can't resist t... ...ood Pack forever. I repeat, requesting assistance."

Takora cleared her throat. "A little light on the details there..." she mumbled. She tapped into the intercom and spoke. "Alright, ground team, we've got a situation." she spoke, referring to the Spectre-recruited members of the crew. "We're going to be jumping into the Hades Gamma anyway, and Freya ain't going anywhere. In any case, it's up to the lot of you if we pop in and give it a look. It'll be your asses in the line of fire anyway."

Calor had been standing near the Captain when she spoke so he heard the distress signal. "Cautiously: What do you know about this facility? Do they have AA guns the Blood Pack could take control of and use against us?" said Calor. Calor couldn't help but feel like expendable canon fodder. With so little intel they had no idea what they could be facing, there could be a hundred mercenaries for all he knew.

"Duty calls, or whatever." The elderly krogan began making his way up to the CIC to voice his opinions in person.

Is the intercom two-way, like on the Normandy? I'm just asking for future reference and to bump the thread..

Cehan nodded to the engineer respectfully and padded after Broktar to see what the decision would be, and perhaps to voice his opinion.
