icons pop up when using restoration

for some reason when I try to use my magic to restore health 5 icons pop up on the upper right of my screen. it says that my speed and agility are being drained. I have gone to the altars and have cleansed myself hoping that does the trick, but it doesn't. I've tried drinking potions for disease and poison, but nothing works.!? what gives? I think it happened when I did the Knights of the nine quest and had to take on one of the characters curses.

This is the Curse of the Consumed which, as you say, you will have gotten from one of the characters in order to obtain the gauntlets in Knights of the Nine. The effect will not go away until you continue with this questline and receive the Blessing of Talos.

hmmm. then I might have a glitch going on because I have gone to the altars in the churches and to Talos' one; activated it, and still this happens. I have gone to the actual shrine and done the same thing with the same results.....great now I must play the whole game unable to use my restoration magic....bummer. lol

It is not the usual blessing that you can get at the churches, it is actually a spell that is only obtainable near the end of the questline. Keep playing the Knights and you'll soon be able to restore yourself to your full potential once again!
