That sounds cool, Kerr. Most noble families have political marriages with other families, watering down their features--I'm pretty sure most of the seven kingdoms are brunettes. Apart from those with a good amount of Lannister or Targaryen blood in them, resulting in, of course, blonde hair or platinum blonde/silvery hair, respectively. But it would be cool for the player made family to have some dominant features, too.

Anyone interested in joining House Wendbridge, on that note, their hair is predominantly dark brown/black. Northern blood/descended from the First Men.

We could compromise: Lord Richard and Lady Charlotte, maybe? And I think the Rosemonts' dominant trait could be dark green eyes and... I don't know, maybe dirty blonde hair? But just for player choice opportunity I could also say that the mother has brown eyes and black hair. I could change that if anyone really wants to look a certain way and still be a part of the House.

Speaking of Lady Rosemont, I wonder what house she would originally be from. Could be any nearby minor family. A few possibilities: Ashford, Meadows, Fell, Morrigen. You can use http://awoiaf.westeros.org to look up more.

I just looked for Charlotte, and...it's not. But. I mean. That's up to the DM. I don't think it's such a stretch. If it was like, I dunno, some earthly cultural name, or a name in binary, that won't fly.

Gotta admit, the first SIAR was one of the few RPs that I read that I wasn't a part of. It was very well done. I might definitely be interested in joining a game like that if I can think of an interesting character. That said, I'm not hugely into text-based RPs anymore so don't make any decisions based on this post, cause I'll feel like a [censored].

I would be up for Hope Falls! And no, i'm not reusing Clara although this could change between now and when/if it's up.

SIAR sounds interesting although didn't you turn into Lord Music the Troll master during it?

To those who are interested in my DA RP, i have two rough ideas on how to handle the magic.

1. I copy and paste the entire lot from Origins and add 5 to each school but only give you 20 skill points to play around with.
2. I don't use all of the spells from origins but create my own, which i would aim for 20 per school and yes, Blood magic is in. And yes, you can use another PC to fuel yourself but [&@%!] off a fellow grey warden is never advised. I mean, do you really want to [&@%!] of someone that also kills darkspawn for a living? You do? Ok but i'm not going to be held responsible for any PC deaths caused by it. Joking aside, let's get back to the 2nd idea. I would give you 20 skill points in total.

I am debating if i should use a levelling up system to see if it keeps things interesting. Is it a good idea or would it be a [&@%!]?


For Warriors and rogues, i may not use skill points but styles. E.g. Two handed Greataxe. You love to chop people in half and the Greataxe is the biggest axe you have. You are neither fast nor slow but you get the damn job done. Each style would have their benifits and drawback. The only specialisations i would include are Beserker and Templar(Human and Elves only) due to the lore. Whilst dwarves may serve in the chantry, i personally feel it's pushing it by having dwarves use templar powers due to the nature of it.


I am considering using SPECIA and having requirements for armour. E.g. 10 Strength enables you to wear massive plate armour whilst 5 is only enough for up to medium. 1 Strength PCs would be a bit of an issue for me as i simply would not know what to do with them. Do i restrict them to a silly wand at the cost of their diginity? Or do i treat them like the Mr Burns of Thedas?

I kind of agree with All Hail here, we don't really have much of a population to work with here without people stretching out to play in as many things they can. That's how people burn out.

That being said, I missed Hope Falls the first go around so I wouldn't make that mistake a second time, should it be rebooted.

Regading the current state of the RP forum, i kinda don't want to can my DA RP but if the forum does end up with burning people out due to too many RPs, it may be best if i delay it until a few RPs either finish(Most likely be WOD that'll finish) or suffer the sad fate of dying. That said, DA is popular around here so it may even be worth me risking it. Then hating myself for doing so if it fails.

As well, I'm trying to get my ASOIAF OP finished soon but once that is done it may be any amount of time before the actual sign-up process begins. After all, I am still not 100% on myself DMing it - and if I do, I might choose to delay it until Christmas break, the end of my first term at university. (It's computer engineering, so it's not gonna be easy.)

I would volunteer my services as a DM but considering i'm 0-2 with roleplays, i best not touch anyone else's until i have one success or one that lasts long enough for me to call it a semi-success RP.
