So I know I've already told a good bit of my story, but I was recently reminded about how I would feel if someone encouraged me at the start of my journey. I'll hide everything so this post doesn't take up the whole page.

So I posted a month or so ago that I had lost a bit of weight since the beginning of this year. At that time it was almost 40 pounds. As of today I have lost over 50.

It started at the beginning of February. I went to the doctor for a cold, and was told that I was quite a bit out of shape. I had made a goal back before I turned 30 to wear a Medium shirt and 34 inch waist pants. That did not happen. By that doctor's visit I wore an XL shirt, 42 inch pants, and weighed 238 pounds. I made up my mind that day to get in shape.

I started off walking a mile every night. No matter what, I walked that mile. I also started to cut back on the amount of food I was eating, as well as cleaning up my diet from processed stuff and fried foods. I also cut out sweets entirely.

After a week of walking I started jogging. Very very little at first. Like a third of a tenth of a mile. Every few days I'd try to jog a little more. Then my neighbors, who are also my best friends, and my awesome wife decided that they too wanted to get in shape. So we started walking and jogging as a group. A month of that later I added in weight training and we staggered running and weight training (dumbbells and pushups).

Well, we've cut the regimen back to three times a week now, and things continue to progress. I now weigh 185 pounds, fit comfortably into a Medium, and just bought two new pairs of jeans that were 34 inches at the waist.

If you're not happy with yourself, do something about it! You can do it! I know because I did!

I went go see a favorite childhood band of mine, Bowling for Soup, and my friend got some meet and greet passes so we got to chill with the band and take a picture. I'm the dude in the Black Mage shirt. Love that shirt.
