Are there any birds in Vvardenfell?

Post by NorskMaelstrom »

Are there any birds in Vvardenfell? There's none in the game, but in the lore.

I'm installing MGSO for Morrowind, and I don't want to enable the extra ambient sounds if they aren't lore-friendly. MGSO videos I've seen have bird sounds in the outdoor ambience, and while it adds to the game and sounds nice, I'm having a hard time accepting it. Just because it might not be lore-friendly. XD This is why I barely mod games. It's stupid of me, but this is how I think.

So yeah, do any birds inhabit Vvardenfell?

I read that a nightingale seduced barenziah once. Since she was not alarned by a bird i can imagine there are others birds in morrowind.

In ESO they have weird lizard birds. Not cliff racers, more like vultures with teeth. That said, the Telvanni apparently keep cats now, so Morrowind isn't quite so alien anymore. Bitter Coast Sounds also featured some vaguely avian-sounding ambience so I guess it's ok lorewise.

I swear I've heard in the unmodded GOTY ambiance the occasional bleating of a sheep or goat.

Isn't there some reference to some kind of bird in one of the 36 Lessons?
His name was Emer Dareloth.

The bleating noise actually comes from betty netch, took me forever to figure out where it was coming from but I'm pretty sure they are the source.

with the amount of top predators and crawling things, I could easily imagine there might not be any birds on Vvardenfell. You might also argue that an active volcano which belches blight storms would drive the birds away. Check out a natural world site and see if any types of birds tolerate volcanic activity, that might give you something to

I saw some lovely birds at the House of Earthly Delights.

Oh, wait. You mean avian fauna.

Cliffracers ate 'em.
Monsters are bred in labyrinths, labyrinths are bred from walls. There is a reason the Giants choose to remain nomadic rather than follow their shield kin the Nords in building permanent settlements. The Tower is the beginning of all walls.
