I think all the races are pretty standard "medieval fantasy" characters. And I think I would like them all a bit more if the character creation was a bit more refined.

Either way, I'm not a big medieval fantasy person, so I'd prefer characters that look more "kawaii". But that's just me. Give me a japanese elf over a western elf any day.

The ideas aren't bad though. Like, I like that they put reptile and cat creatures in; though I just woulda liked them to look less "real" I suppose.

Personally though, I chose dunmer. I don't really like standard humans in any game; humans are just so plain. And like I said, the cat and reptile races here are not my cup 'o milk, so I choose dunmer.

I'm not one for Nords myself but my best friend plays one. Cracks me up when people call her 'Snowman'. I love it!
I just get called 'Redguard' like it's a filthy name :D

Morrowind hooked me on dark elves. They are dark and intriguing. They always seem to be mixed up in trouble, and always seem to find a way out. Out of the races in Tamriel, I think they are the most unique as well.

wood elves and high elves have been present in fantasy forever, as have orcs. Khajit are basically thundercats, and "cat-people" have existed in fiction for quite some time as well. Argonians are fairly original, though they are much like liazrd folk from Dungeons and Dragons and other such games.

You could argue that they resemble the Drow of the Forgotten Realms, though a closer look displays few similarities in both appearance and culture.

Dunmer all the way! My first playthrough on Morrowind I was an Argonian and hated that I couldn't wear boots or closed helms. Then when I played as a Dark Elf, it changed my life. I am a better muthsera now that I've become a Dunmer.

Sorry, but i can resist it.
It is spelled "Khajiit"

Somone posted on the forums that it's so hard to pronounce, unless you have played for 100 hours or more.
I figured out how to pronounce it, the first time i played.

Ditto. Why would you have to play for 100 hours to pronounce it? Even if you couldn't work it out from the spelling you soon would once you heard someone say it in-game. Which doesn't take 100 hours.

How bizarre, how bizarre.

1. Dunmer
- Morrowind got me hooked on them
2. Breton
- My favorite Min/Max race
3. Argonians and Khajiit
- they both look awesome, but Khajiit might be higher up because my first charater was a khajiit
4. Orcs
- my first WoW character was an orc and I like their lore
5. Redguards
- great racials for melee classes
6. Nord
- see Redguards and gotta love feeling like a viking
7. Imperials
- I don't hate them, but I don't like them either
8. Bosmer
- hate them and I have yet to find out why, too sneaky and short maybe
9. Altmer
- as a race too arrogant and bad racial drawbacks, but I love taking down a peg or two
