Monitor is so white and bright.

Post by Linkuya »

Got an Acer G226HQL 1080p monitor pretty cheaply, looks and runs real nicely but it's so darn bright. Lowering the brightness the whole way down makes it way too dark so see, but anything less than the extremes makes the monitor so bright and white washed. For example, I'll be sitting and I'll finally tweak it to looking alright, but if my head moves pretty much at all, or if my head gets too high, the whiteness comes in full force. Makes it hard to watch stuff while working and moving around. Anyone heard of issues like this before that brightness/contrast/gamma doesn't fix?

Here are my specs, keep in mind I'm not using that monitor anymore though.

Honestly, if contrast, gamma, and brightness can't fix the problem, you might have just bought a bad monitor. If it's super new, I'd say return it.
If it's not new, well... [&@%!] out of luck, I guess. :\

It is new, by the way.

I actually pushed the monitor back a bit and that seems to have alleviated the issue. Maybe it was just too close to my face; this is a bigger one than I'm used to.
