How To Make Mods That Are Compatible But Not Dependent?
After the whole thing about free mods being dependent on paid mods I have became rather paranoid about my future mods. I want to know: Is it possible to make mods that are compatible with, but not dependent on, other mods. Ideally I want my mod to work with many of the major mods and all DLC but also be able to function without any of them, in case they become unavailable for whatever reason. Is this possible, or is this just a pipe-dream?

It is possible through multiple different methods. You can either create a "X Mod" version, which is designed specifically to work with that mod, or you just design it to not touch areas that mod would.
