Where are the vampires?

I have been playing Daggerfall for a couple of years now and I have only every come across two vampires. That was before Irealized I could become a vampire. Now that I want to get infected, I can't find a vampire anywhere. I have tried looking it up but All I find is a description of "the change". So, anybody know where I can get bit?


I just cheated to raise my characters level and now I have no trouble with finding vamps, so now the question is What level must you be to encounter Vampires?

Actually, if you want to become a Vampire, it doesn't matter at what level you first encounter them - since each hit from one has only a very small chance of infecting you with vampirism, you need to be high enough level to survive several hits and/or have sufficient magic/enchanted items to regenerate fast enough.

Take a look at the bestiary and decide for your character, then try it. Vampirism is fun, at least once, but it can take several attempts.

Well like I said My issue is not surviving the encounter, it's finding a vampire to fight.

The first time I played the game I ran into a vampire ancient in Castle Necromoghan, (and got my but kicked) ,but that was a long time ago and now I'm playing a new character. Since I first ran into a vampire in Necromoghan I looked there first but I found nothing but ghosts. On a hunch I cheated to shoot my character up to LV 26 and now Necromoghan is full of vampires. ( I trashed the character after cheating, and started over)
