I must be doing SOMETHING stupid

Got my Orc Knight all ready to enter the Gate of Oblivion at the Siege of Kvach but when I walk through the Gate, I only get to the city doors of Kvach. How do I actually enter the Oblivion Gate? PC version if that helps

When you are outside the city gate, walk up to that big glowing orange thing that's right in front of the gate, that's the Oblivion Gate. When you walk up to it you'll notice the cursor change, when it does that press the action button or key if your playing on the keyboard.

I believe it is the space bar on a pc keyboard.

Watch out for glowing blue gates created by Boethia and Peryite. Instead of clicking on the glowing "plasma" You have to click on the door frames to activate those portals.

You can "walk" through the physical gate without going to Oblivion. You have to click on the gate to activate it to go there.

It happens to all of us. It happened to me, and there are at least two of us here. The Oblivion Gate is a portal that you click on in order to travel through, like any other door in the game. I figured that simply walking through the energy field would have some effect, but you simply pass on through and end up at the Kvatch city gates instead.

When I did it, I was actually wondering why Oblivion looked just like any other town in Cyrodiil, except it was burning.

Thanks all, last time I played it it was on Xbox and I just couldn't remember... I was trying to figure out how to shut the gate from inside Kvatch and not getting anywhere.

Reverse for me, I crept up to the gate fully expecting more scamps to pour out, and when somewhat startled that something did appear on my screen, accidentally teleported. I then spent a foolish amount of time jumping back and forth through the portal on the Oblivion side trying to get out, ignorant of having to activate the annoying icon that fluttered before me...

"Yes, I know it's a door! How does it open?!"
