Battlemage Armor mystery!
So for all Elder Scrolls games I am a Battlemage being the Battlemage i am i go with leather armor in Arena although for pure looks I wore no armor (Just my preference). Daggerfall i wear no armor as the default class states i have no armor skill! Battlespire, Battlemage class states i had no armor skill! Morrowind now this is were i get confused armor specialization is heavy.Oblivion back to no armor. So my topic being completely related to Elder Scrolls i have not worn armor as a Battlemage but i have read numerous threads conflicting this argument i believe i am correct in saying that Battlemages wear no armor a one handed weapon in conjunction with offensive (but not limited to) spells. The only real game conflicting this is Morrowind.Arena is arguable but seeing as a number of other Mage classes wore leather (and more)armors i think we can rule Arena out.
I Basically Just want opinions but not personal ones i mean from a Lore and (or)game play experience.I believe i am right to say Battlemages wear no armor.

Re: Battlemage Armor mystery!
Battlemages rely on combined arms tactics and needs lots of schmucks in tin can suits to keep the bad people away while they let loose the sparkle motion so they don't need to wear armor themselves though they may like filigree or sequins and maybe even an owl perched on their arm in case they get hungry or somesuch
Baurus: Our job is to get the Emperor out of situations like this. Though I'll admit, things aren't going exactly to plan.
Casandra: At the moment, the deadliest weapon at my disposal is a goblin's head on a stick. I'd be worried if this was the plan.

Re: Battlemage Armor mystery!
A Battlemage is a master of Destruction who has also had some training in melee weapons. Other than that, they vary widely in the games and in the lore. It's no less lore-friendly for a Battlemage to be wearing Iron Plate than Mithril. It depends on the individual and what kind of situation he's in. In his palace or academy he'd wear robes, but on the battlefield anything goes. Abnur Tharn tends to favor Medium Armor in the Imperial style. I'm guessing that's not a bad assumption to make for other Imperial Battlemages.
Monsters are bred in labyrinths, labyrinths are bred from walls. There is a reason the Giants choose to remain nomadic rather than follow their shield kin the Nords in building permanent settlements. The Tower is the beginning of all walls.

1) Battlemage similar to Spellsword?
2) Topic (you linked to) was started in Jul 14, last posted Sep 14.
3) How is necroposting a topic, that is not similar helpful?
4) This topic last posted in two weeks ago, so was basically dying out.

If you read the thread I linked, you'll find that there was lots of helpful discussion on what defines a battlemage. Not exactly unrelated.

Those are two different statements. They do not have the same meaning. In fact, I did read it, that is how I knew the topics was about Spellswords, and noticed that the mentions of Battlemages came about when you mistakenly linked to a picture of a Battlemage... in a discussion about Spellswords. It is just a habit of yours to attempt to make a topic about Spellswords, a topic about Battlemages... and then attempt to make a topic about Battlemages about Spellswords? ...two weeks after people decided to not talk about it anymore?legoless wrote:If you read the thread I linked, you'll find that there was lots of helpful discussion on what defines a battlemage. Both you guys have points. It's on the first page, but it's a different topic and it's months-old. Spellswords and Battlemages aren't the same thing, exactly. I think this thread is fine, since it's asking something very specific about a specific class. Anyway, I stand by what I said already. The answer to "what does a battlemage wear?" is "it depends."

I'd like to say that it is, if that wasn't a 0/10 bait.Jeff wrote:It is just a habit of yours to attempt to make a topic about Spellswords, a topic about Battlemages... and then attempt to make a topic about Battlemages about Spellswords? ...two weeks after people decided to not talk about it anymore?
