So much for me being more active. >.>
With everyone across, Naomi and Varos crossed the makeshift bridge with the former behind the latter. Varos made it across and looked around, then turned suddenly when the sound of wood cracking rang through the spacious sewers. The wooden plank split in two, sending Naomi plummeting. She couldn't help but scream in surprise.

Varos, reacting quickly, dropped to his stomach and grasped Naomi by the ankle, holding her upside down from the perilous fall only barely.

"Grr... someone else get her other foot!" he grumbled as he kept his grip.

Ned rushed to grab Naomi's other foot and tried to pull her up.

With a bit of a heave with their combined strengths, Varos and Ned were able to pull Naomi from the edge and up to safety. Once safe, she caught her breath in the midst of panicked gasps, her hand on her breast as if to calm herself. "That... Not again. No no no." she mumbled, momentarily traumatized by the ordeal.

The sound of screeching metal rang out in the distance and a beam of light poured into the sewer. It was far enough as to not illuminate the Estean sewer team, but close enough to clearly see two men dressed in Ormican colors descend a ladder into the depths below. One of them had a war horn attached to his belt.

"Just a quick sweep and then we're done. Icthyus doesn't need us to check every nook and cranny." The man with the horn said. The other merely huffed in affirmation.

Varos looked at the others (at least those he could see in the dim lighting) and nodded, grabbing Naomi by the shoulder and making his way to hide behind a nearby corner. He placed a hand on the pommel of his sword while Naomi simply pressed up against the wall, trying to ease her breathing.

Ned quickly made an effort to get out of sight. He pressed up against a wall and hid from the guards in the darkness. Did the screaming attract them?

If Ned was a Nightblade I might actually try to kill the horn guy with an arrow.

Sewer Team

Naomi bit her lip as the footsteps of the Ormican soldiers resounded through the sewers. The sound of separate steps tipped off that the soldiers had split up, and one was approaching the hiding Esteans while one was walking further away, but it wasn't clear whether or not the nearer soldier was the one with the war horn unless someone were to look.

Front Lines

As Faye had warned, the Pegasus Knights of Ormica quickly began making deadly swoops upon the advancing Esteans. The city square was wide enough for them to do so, but their approaches all seemed to follow a pattern from the same northeastern direction.

Above, Alora swerved and ducked atop her flying pegasus. The only flying soldier on the side of the Esteans, she was relatively un-harassed in the air as the opposing Pegasi Knights were more concerned with the ground troops on the ground. An occasional arrow flew past her, but it was still clear that the focus was on the ground.

Important Announcement
Spoiler:
Well, interest is kinda dwindling, so I'm going ahead and pulling the plug on this RP. I'm going to continue the story (since I had it all written out in summarization anyway) as a story on Archive Of Our Own. I plan to write out any of your characters out of the story in the aftermath of the battle unless you want me to keep them in (and are okay with me writing them).

Thanks for participating, guys, it was fun and I'm sorry it kinda died out.
Though the early days of Isaac's campaign were not very well documented, the results of the siege of Bellhall and the revelation that occurred immediately afterward went down in legend.

As for the events that followed and the exploits of Isaac and his legendary Estean Brigade, they have been chronicled by the scholars of old and became cherished stories by the people, almost mythic in scale.

The only asbolute truth that remained was thus; throughout all of the chaos and strife, Isaac cared for his people and his friends above all else.

Well it was fun while it lasted. Shame the RP section has become a ghost town in general.

Chapter 3 is here.

Double posting is fun.

Daud aside, is there any particular direction you guys want me to steer your characters? I'm willing to accommodate and plan to highlight each of them.

Edit: Chapter 4 as well. More Ned this time, but it's a short one.

Cool, it was a good read. Are you planning on posting here everytime a new chapter goes up?

Last line of Chapter 4 made me think of Metal Gear, not sure if that's intentional or not. I had thought of the relationship between Ned and Ted as being similar to Solid Snake and Liquid Snake. They are twins who want each other dead afterall, Ned has shorter and darker hair and Ted lighter and longer. I wasn't just blatantly ripping them off though, there are plenty of differences but it was an influence.

If you end up having the character advance to the next classes then I would have had Ned become an Assassin and then a Nightblade.

The class advancement will happen down the line; just, not yet. But I do plan on doing so. Assassin it is.

Thanks for that, Kerr, it's good to hear you enjoy it so far. I do plan on posting here with each chapter being complete. I'm working on chapter 5 as we speak!

No, that wasn't intentional, but now that you mention it... Heh. I like it! The sibling dynamic is fun.

Have I told you guys that Esteos has a climate similar to Canada? Because it does.

I would be flattered if not for present Canadian weather. So, we're all presently trudging along (and occasionally wiping out on ice) through -30 degree weather? Ugh. And I thought your story might be an escape. :c

Chapter 5 is done, go me!

This one was REALLY fun to write!

And I dunno, it's probably not as extreme as Canada. It's Skyrimlike, plenty of grassland and farmland and stuff, but still cold. I just had a great picture in my head of the fortress among a bunch of tall trees like a beautiful boreal forest, you know?

EDIT: Have a chapter 6 too.

EDIT EDIT: And a seventh!

So a boreal climate then? Ah ha, studying geography in college is paying off. Look on the bright side Baloth, you don't live in Nunavut. Unless you do, in which case I'm surprised you haven't frozen to death.

Yeah, Boreal, thank you.

I'm interested in writing it, it's fun! So as a reward for the nice words and stuff, have an eighth, a ninth, a tenth, and an eleventh. 12 should be done tomorrow at some point.

I posted I'd be leaving, so go ahead and check up with my AO3 every once in a while. Updates should be approx. two weeks apart given my current schedule, at least until finals start.

Thanks for following this after the end. You've all been great.

So, bumping the ol' thread one last time to let you guys know that I just finished the story adaptation of the plot I had in mind for CotA. I updated the OP with a link and I'll provide one here as well.

I won't waste too much of your time here, but I just wanted to say for participating when the RP was a thing. I really enjoyed creating and maintaining the world of Castradea, and I hope you all enjoyed it too. Who knows, maybe I'll do something with this again sometime. It'll be a ways off, but we'll see.

Now, full speed ahead for a Silicon & Sorcery side-story.

Again, thank you. It wouldn't have gotten off the ground without you guys!
