Is there any set rate at which magic items degrade? Do all enchantments with continual effects progressively degrade the items? Is using a 'repair item' item with my damaged gear on sufficient to repair degraded magical items?
Thanks!

Re: Magic Item Degradation
Items have a certain amount of durability, each spell has a cost and drains the items durability, so a magic item has a limited number of charges.
A sword with a bunch of cast when strikes spells on it won't last very long, even if it is daedric.
Some magic items don't drain very fast though, they are items that don't cast a spell when equipped, used or when it strikes, like "strengthens armor", "enhances skill" and others.
A daedric tower shield with a bunch of skill enhancements will last a very long time.
You can't repair magic items unless you modify your z.cfg file to include "magicrepair 1" at the bottom (without the quotation marks).
If you add that line, and enchant ALL your gear with a "repairs item" spell, then your gear will never wear out, even with a load of skill enhancements and so on.

Thanks, exactly what I wanted in an answer.
Skill and armor enhancements is exactly what I prefer, Daggerfall really caters to my Western RPG instincts.

Those enchantments will make you a god if you are a caster and/or use hand-to-hand, especially if you are a Haarvenu vampire with spell absorption.
