Hi everybody !
I am starting another daggerfall character and I am trying to optimise a bit my avantages / disavantages in order to have a lot of hit point but a normal dagger.
Is magic immunity protect against paralysis, poison and desease ?
=> can I take Critical weakness to paralysis and desease without worrying ?
Thanks !

Re: quick question about immunity to magic
I see your post is about a week old and you may know the answer now but I'll go ahead and help. Magic Immunity does NOT prevent paralysis, disease, or poison. Your best bet is probably just to take Paralysis immunity because paralysis WILL kill you!
Magic Immunity is mainly to prevent stat reductions (drains) and curses which are an annoyance but livable.
Poison immunity is pretty useful but niche because very few enemies that I've seen use poisons.
And finally, Disease Immunity can be the most potentially devastating (so can poison as it kills but it's more rare) Your going to deal with a LOT of rats and Bats which all carry diseases and diseases in Daggerfall are deadly unless you visit a temple or drink a fairly rare sure disease potion (unless you have access to the potion maker from one of the temples (I forgot which).
There have been a few occasions on my old character where I would get a disease and forget about it only to go on another quest and die when I reach the destination losing progress and having to reload.
So if your trying for a medium difficulty dagger setting here are my suggestions...
Advantages-
-Immunity to paralysis
-immunity to Disease
-Regeneration in darkness (efficient and cuts healing time)
-One of the Magery options (or you won't be able to cast more than 1-2 spells at a time)
Disadvantages-
-banned material Silver (silver is very rare and junk compared to Elven)
-darkness powered casting (you don't need to cast spells outdoors anyways unless you like levitating on buildings lol!)
-unable to use leather or chain (Iron plate is common in crypts after the first dungeon)
-unable to use bucklers, round, or kite shields (The only shields of any note are Towers such as spellbreaker).
That should have you fairly even I'm guessing but if you need one more phobia of animals isn't a bad disadvantage because the strongest animals are centaurs which are easy by level 5.
Side notes-
You could also add the berserker (forgot the name) advantage for almost no increase in the dagger bar and it can potentially save your life and make sure to have Mysticism as at least a Primary Skill or the open spell will get annoying fast.
I think that about covers everything. I would also get Immunity to Disease if I were you but that would probably put your difficulty higher than you'd like, same for Magic Immunity and neither are must-haves.
Also, make sure to have short blades as a Primary and long, blunt, or axe as a Main skill and pick the ebony dagger or imps will destroy you.

Re: quick question about immunity to magic
Immunity to Magic means immunity to disease and paralysis as well, maybe also poisoned weapons.

Re: quick question about immunity to magic
Yep. Paralysis and Disease also have SEPARATE immunities, but they are covered in Immunity to Magic. Only Fire, Shock and Frost are not covered by Immunity to Magic. I have been hit by hundreds of spells from every type of magic, Disease, Poison and Paralysis have zero effect with Immunity to Magic.Adda wrote:Immunity to Magic means immunity to disease and paralysis as well, maybe also poisoned weapons.
