Do i need Dragoborn?

So i'm going to start modding Skyrim soon. I have dawnguard and hearthfire but do i need dragonborn? Some mods require dragonborn But is it necessary to have it?

It isn't necessary, but as said, some mods wont work without it.

Most mods are made to work with vanilla, and then have extra parts for DLC related stuff - all the mods that use DB assets I use work on that basis.

Steam causes a slight issue for that, as they do not allow optional files, but TBH the Nexus is a better place to go for mods anyway.

Whether or not you need dragonborn depends on the mods you're using, and would likely be stated in the installation instructions of the mods you were looking at. If you wanted to try Perkus Maximus for example... you do need dragonborn. For much of the texture/model/armor mods, etc, you don't.

Not necessarily. Most mods don't require dragonborn, only if it d says so in the description of the mod.
