It is near the end of the age of Heroes in Albion, and you are one of them. Part of a group of men and women, soon to graduate from the prestigious Heroes' Guild. But what sort of Hero will you become? A noble knight, or a powerful wizard? Or perhaps an evil warrior? What is certain is that you all have the means to shape your destiny, and you will shape many lives, perhaps even the future of Albion. Your adventure is your own. This is your Fable.
Be forewarned, this roleplay may contain descriptions of gore and gratuitous silliness. Any romance beyond kissing must fade to black. (In classic Fable style, though without the...audio.)
Setting
Hidden:
Fable takes place in the world of Albion, which is essentially a medieval fantasy version of the UK.
Spoiler:
There are monsters, magic, and a large amount of the population needs your help either picking apples for a pie, or rescuing their wife from Really Horrible Death Cave. You may choose from a few quests to follow, and players may choose either to stick together or branch out on their own, as and when they can, though all paths will eventually converge. Albion is pre-industrial--sorry, no guns. Swords, hammers, longbows, crossbows and the like are fair game.
In terms of history, there's not much to say; there was the Old Kingdom, ruled by the Hero William Black and the Archons. It was mysteriously destroyed--some say it was just as well, for the kingdom became corrupt beyond redemption--and only ruins remain.
The RP is set some time before the rise of the Hero of Oakvale. How long before, you ask? Well, I'm not telling you!
Bestiary
Hidden:
There are minor pests and major beasts across Albion, some of which I will briefly describe.
Balverines are wolf-people, cursed and savage. Weak to silver weapons. Very dangerous creatures who tend to hunt in packs, their bite can be deadly. Those few who manage to survive a bite are said to become a Balverine themselves...
Hobbes are squat, pig-like creatures, who wield makeshift weapons and armour. It's said that lost children are turned into Hobbes. It's also said that they eat human flesh. Squishy individually, but dangerous as a group.
Hollow Men are skeletal undead. Immune to pain, though dusty rags ensure a weakness to fire. Fairly brittle one-on-one, but very dangerous in groups.
Nymphs are fairy-like creatures, fairly rare, and fairly powerful. They wield magic and have the ability to summon creatures of varying strength to fight for them.
Screamers are said to be tortured souls who wander the countryside, stealing life from whoever is unfortunate to come across them. A threat to any, should they even truly exist.
Trolls are lumbering creatures born of the earth, and they use the earth as their weapon. They hurl massive boulders at those intruding on their territory. Extremely dangerous.
Game Mechanics
Hidden:
No dice. There isn't much to say on this; I will determine if certain actions are possible. A fresh faced Hero will be unable to single handedly defeat a troll. Someone with no Skill practice won't headshot a hobbe from across the battlefield. One who has invested very little practice into Will won't be able to weave complex spells. On the note of spells, you can cast pretty much whatever you like, but again, don't expect to be able to summon a firestorm of death and tigers if you haven't previously made any use of Will. Throwaway enemies such as bandits or hobbes you can write your own kills, just be sure to save some for others.
As for Will powers...you can do pretty much what you like with it, but more complex stuff will not be possible until you've had more practice. For the beginning, try simple kinetic stuff like lightning or fireballs.
And quests themselves? There will be a couple quests available from the start, which you will be able to share--some will be too difficult not to share. Or if your character is truly determined to quest alone, we can do that, but keep in mind it will be very difficult and you can very well die if the forces you're up against are too great. If you die in the RP, you can create another character if you wish--they will be a previously graduated Hero, no more or less powerful than the one you got killed.
Not that it's terribly likely you'll be killed, no. Throwaway enemies like individual hobbes or bandits, you can kill as you like. As a group, team up. A quest to kill some balverines, you need a team. To kill a troll, everybody should be present.
Character Sheet
For talents, briefly describe your character's proficiency in Strength (combat with melee weapons and general physical fitness), Skill (combat with ranged weapons and overall precision and agility), and Will (use of magic). All Heroes have basic training in all three disciplines. Your effectiveness in each will improve as you use them throughout the RP. For backstory, you need only describe the circumstances which brought you to the Heroes' Guild. (Hero trainees may either have been recruited by a Hero, or signed up of their own accord.)
You will receive starting gear when you graduate, so your appearance needn't include armour or weapons.
As said earlier, this is pre-industrial Albion. No factories or guns. Sorry.
For "other", you may wish to add pre existing relationships; any relationship your character has with fellow PC's, be it friendship or rivalry, as well as any other oddities you wish to mention.
Name: Billy Truncheon
Age: 18
Talents: Strength and Skill in equal measure, Billy is a fairly quick and strong young man.
Starting alignment: Neutral
Backstory: Billy Truncheon was quite tired of his life on the family farm, and constantly being called "Chicken Chaser" by his neighbours. One day, he decided to become a Hero, to rid the world of evil creatures and make a name for himself--not before taking a truncheon and bopping on the bonce anyone who ever insulted him.
Appearance: 5'9, lean and fairly muscled, lightly tanned skin. A patchy shirt and trousers.
Other: Loves blueberry pie, hates chickens.
Anyone. As long as you live up to the training and become an able warrior. Young man or old fart, as long as you can fight well.
Oh, Bob is perfectly fine. Bofur is better, but Bob's fine. Could even say, "his name is Bofur, but everybody calls him Bob." My only limitations would be no Bob1290380s, and no gibberish names like Asdnszj, I guess.
Absolutely not! You needn't have any knowledge of Fable at all to get any enjoyment out of this RP. Swords and sorcery, monsters and manliness. This RP is wholly accessible.
Name:Bonny the [&@%!].
Age:26
Talents: Basic magical abilities, Bonny is fairly agile and is quite skilled with a sword, only she is a liar and possesses basic swordsmanship abilities. Oh and she knows how to please a man or woman.
Starting alignment (Good/Neutral/Evil):Good
Backstory: Bonny was born into a rather wealthy family and endured a happy childhood but we can't have a hero with a happy background, can we? No, instead, her family was murdered by some rather rude bandits during a family outing when she turned 19 and the poor lass resorted to becoming a practitioner of arts in the field of sex. She was rather good at it and over time, she enjoyed her job. It paid well and despite the high death rate via pesky STDs or other things, she managed to form some kind of life untill she met a hero who needed some much R&R. She was known for incorporating magic into her art and that hero became a regular. A few years later, he recruited her into the guild and that's how Bonny the [&@%!] joined the guild. Bit anticlimatic, i know but even prostitutes can become heroes. Oh and Farmboys but let's not talk about that farmboy, shall we
Appearance:
Other: Bonny possesses a fair amount of coin and seems willing to do anything to get the job done. She was given a rather fancy sword by the man that recruited her but he never gave her his name. What a shame. The sword is a curved sword and unlike most people, she is not obessessed with having a curved. Sword. I mean, really? It's a curved sword but if it was a circled sword, then that would be impressive. Oh and the whole dress like a hero thing? Yay, she ain't doing that. Instead, she keeps dressing like a prositute and well, you get the drift.
Hope this is ok, Baloth. I was trying to emulate some fable humour and hope the sheet is ok. If not, i will have my manservant rewrite it and have him flogged if he gets it wrong.
RANDOM SILLY STATEMENT AS SIGNATURE! Praise Sheogorath!
It's perfectly fine, though three things--one, I'm going to limit your starting gold tooo...100. Can't have you lording over everyone else. Two, are you sure you want to start with that weapon? It's okay, but I'm offering everyone a selection of weapons from the beginning. Including, for whoever wants it, Hero Weapons...that can morph as you use them. (As you desire/as makes sense.) And of course you can buy new weapons, if you so desire, later in the RP.
And three, could you please specify for me--your character is equally skilled in Strength, Skill, and Will, or are they just -passable- at Strength and Will, and she's focused mainly on Skill?
I'm gonna be bringing in the scrawniest kid this side of Herodom.

Name: Ephraim Blackwood Age: 19 Talents: Strong focus in Will, Lesser focus in Skill, passable ability in strength. Not so much frail as simply lean, Ephraim is simply more inclined to use magic and a crossbow than a sword. They offer more 'finesse', as he would have it, and he likes to use the two in conjunction; a flaming crossbow bolt is deadlier than a normal one, after all. Starting alignment: (Lawful) Neutral Backstory: Beloved only son of a well-to-do noble, Ephraim was to inherit his father's position as head of his mercantile shipping company and was raised to know how to act in both courts and in contract dealings.
At the age of 6, however, his father was lost at sea, the victim of a pirate attack during one of his trade ventures. His mother passed away of heartbreak not long after, and Ephraim was forever embittered towards criminals of all sorts. When the time came to learn more about his father's former job, the young Ephraim declined and told his father's regent-boss to run the company instead. At age 7, Ephraim slipped away quietly in the night and was able to make his way to the Heroes' Guild, where he has spent the last 12 years of his life studying to become a hero and put criminals and brigands to justice. Appearance: Ephraim shows many signs of stress in his immediate appearance, including a rather messy goatee, unkempt short black hair (with a few grey ones hidden throughout), and a constant scowl. He looks much older than he actually is. Ephraim stands at 6'1" and is rather lean. He typically wears breathable, but not overly long, mage robes. He dislikes long sleeves on his robes and either cuts them short or rolls them up. This allows him to remain nimble in combat yet still gain the benefits of magical robes. Other: Ephraim has a handsome look that is accentuated (or in other opinions, lessened) by his increasingly scraggly look. Some have taken to calling him 'the Handsome' as a joke around the guild, but it is far from an official title.
Despite whatever his morals become over time, Ephraim adheres strongly to his belief in the law and will likely not sway from his firmness unless given no other choice.
Name: Ionbe Lesterkid
Age: 18
Talents: Ionbe is not much of a physical person thus his strength is just basic for a person of his age, only able to carry light armour and perhaps use a bow or a knife. His Will and Skill are on the same level, used in conjunction with one another.
Starting alignment (Good/Neutral/Evil): ….Neutral? possibly Chaotic. (I don't like sticking alignments on people..)
Backstory: Ionbe was a simple child growing up in quite frankly a simple family, he never talked much especially when he got into scuffles with other children, he’d always lose as such he’d developed the power to out run and manoeuvre them from a young age. When he grew up he witnessed a Hero and as such as soon as he could he signed up for the guild showing remarkable progress in the use of magic and agility.
Appearance: He's slight
:
:
(without the skull on the hood obviously)
Other: He often has a scarf pulled over his mouth, silence is often his thing.
I spent a bit of time on those appearance things.

I'm not familiar with Fable, so hope things fit ok.

Name: Tarian Snow
Age: 28
Talents: High Strength and medium Skill
Starting alignment: Neutral
Backstory: Tarian is from a family of merchants and spent a good deal of her childhood travelling to various cities and towns to sell their wares. Her family specialized in gold and silverware, from jewellery to tableware and trinkets. As such, she is skilled in trading and in assessing people from first impressions and is good at seeming friendly and trustworthy. In her teenage years, she used this skill to coerce folk to buy all sorts of cheap bric-a-brac that she 'found', often selling them for a good profit and pocketing the money for herself.
After countless words of disapproval from her parents over her dishonest ways, at the age of 17, Tarian decided to go off on her own.
She did not fare too bad for a while, however, her over-confidence soon landed her in trouble, when her dodgy dealings started a dispute with a few random travellers on the road. When weapons started being drawn, she was lucky to soon receive the assistance of a female hero, who made an impression on Tarian that led her to join the Heroes Guild for herself.
Appearance: 5ft 5in tall, average weight with medium brown hair that is cut into a bob that falls just below the chin with a short blunt fringe. Grey eyes that are quite small.
She wears brown trousers and a burgundy top, with a dark navy hooded cloak over the top. A small gold necklace with a star pendant is worn, but is kept under clothes out of sight. Carries a brown cross-body satchel.
Other: Has a habit of stealing small worthless items, Likes animals except dogs
Perfectly acceptable, and thus--accepted! No familiarity with the setting is required. Just imagine your standard fantasy affair, plus a dash of humour here and there, a bit dark here and there.
Name: Kieran O'Donnel
Age: 22
Talents: Will and Strength in equal measure, negligible skill
Starting alignment (Good/Neutral/Evil): Neutral
Backstory: Kieran was born to a middle class family of merchants and traders that spent their time traversing the high seas and exploring new lands for trade. They adored one another and led a happy life in large part, but when they crash landed on an island Kieran was the only survivor. The island was luckily a hold out for a band of pirates that had settled in, the took in the eight year old boy and raised him to a man, with all the swagger and brashness that comes with it. His taken father, the captain, taught him to read and how to speak properly as a captain, and thus has some idea of eloquence. He came to the guild at the age of fifteen and was found to be extremely gifted in will for one who had no idea of it properly, a good thing too because he could not shoot a bottle if his life depended on it.
Appearance: 6ft exactly, around 165 lbs, he has striking features that are only further accented by his copious amounts of eyeliner/shadow.
Spoiler:
Other: Left handed, social standing middle class, orientation bisexual...
