You should. Black Isle/Obsidian have made some pretty great RPGs over the years. Fallout: New Vegas is excellent I'd highly recommend it, it's in similar style to The Elder Scrolls series. As a side note if you haven't played Fallout 3, do. It was made by the people who made The Elder Scrolls games.

Then the older games hold up pretty well too, only played Fallout 2 and Planescape: Torment for the first time this year and I loved them both. Still they have aged and have some questionable design decisions so I'd understand if it put you off or if you just had other reasons for disliking them.

Now before Linkuya lynches me for heresy I love a number of the games Howard worked on, I'm on an Elder Scrolls Forum so that isn't surprising. Although I imagine saying Avellone is better is still grounds for execution.

I have no reason to hate them as I've never played any of them. I have wanted to play the older Fallout games though but don't know where to legally find them other than eBay but I don't like eBay. I have played Fallout 3 a few years ago on the Xbox 360 and I loved it. Actually finished it. I don't have it though, I borrowed it from a friend.

What's Planescape: Torment? First time hearing of it. :s

Sorry but I don't know of many games. Just never payed any attention. :s

Hell, I didn't even know a game called Elder Scrolls even existed till about 2007 when my friend was talking about Oblivion one day at my old job at Walmart. That's when I brought Oblivion then fell in love with the Elder Scrolls games.

I've been playing a game for my Gameboy Pocket called "Desert Strike: Return to the Gulf". It's a Original Gameboy game. I can't even make it past the damn 2nd stage. I keep running out of fuel and fuel pickups to finish all 5 or 6 missions in the 2nd stage.
And there's no cheats for it unless you're using the Gameshark for the Gameboy.

Gonna have to try to buy that one as that's the only one I've seen.

So, the school board in the county I go to school at made changes to the history curriculum taught in schools. Basically, anything that would somehow paint the US in a bad light would be censored from history classes. This would mean that things like Martin Luther King and the Civil Rights movement wouldn't be taught in schools. Many of the high schools (Including the one I go to) are taking to the streets to protest the changes.

I just found out that the issue has made national news, which is great.

The sad fact is that watching a bunch of historical movies from Hollywood gets most people to think they've earned college credit for a history class.
Baurus: Our job is to get the Emperor out of situations like this. Though I'll admit, things aren't going exactly to plan.

Casandra: At the moment, the deadliest weapon at my disposal is a goblin's head on a stick. I'd be worried if this was the plan.

Its an awesome game. Agreed, right up there with TES in terms of its setup. If you're into post-apocalyptic worlds, this game is a must to try out. Freaking love it.

Sadly, you can't get the older Fallout games in an easier fashion anymore to my knowledge. They used to have the games on GOG.com, but not anymore for some vague reason by Bethesda.

As for Planescape: Torment, it's one of the classic great CRPG's like Fallout. If you can overlook the graphics, you'll find a gem in there.

I didn't think I was gonna be able to find it. Would love to play them all though. :,(

I found a site that's like GOG.com called old-games.com but I don't know if it's legit.

Fallout 3 and New Vegas bored me to tears. It's like the devs set out to make the most boring game they could.

Though that's a super unpopular opinion so pretend I said something else instead, like bananas are evil. Then again, I'm probably pretty biased since I really don't like the setting those games are set in. Like, I had no incentive to explore or anything because it's all just brown and broken, everywhere you'd go. I mean, I could go to Detroit if I really wanted to experience that. Shots fired

As a man who has had his foot run over by a cart holding approximately 600lbs of them, I don't find them very apeeling either.

Well, that's just crate, I slipped up once and now I'm surrounded by little but oxygen and potassium. At least that means that I'm OK.

Yes, well...TOTALLY unrelated, a couple weeks back, I stole Donkey Kong's private banana stash, and he's been tracking me ever since. Those bananas you are now covered in may or may not be his. And I'm afraid he gets very violent when he finds his bananas, like he did to that one poor crocodile.

Like I said, totally unrelated. Now if you don't mind me, I have an urgent train out-of-town I MUST catch.

*exits stage left.

Yeah, it's useful as hell. Definitely gonna use it once I ever start on Elder Scrolls again. Hopefully it'll be soon. Just haven't been feeling right lately. :(

Got a doctors appointment at 9:15 in the morning though. Hopefully they'll figure out what's wrong with me.

Of course, I was thinking of writing an ES name generator for UESP. Theirs is a lot better than I think I could do. xP

I'm sure you can make a great name generator since your a programmer. :)

Do you think this will be helpful to the UESPers here?
