Oh, if it's names you want, here's few suggestion:

Bladed weapons:
Crimson blade, Crimson Edge, Doombreaker (opposite of Dawnbreaker ;) ) Grimreaper, Swift (good for dagger), Kalmankalpa (okay, I can't translate that), Slicer (I didn't say these are _good_ suggestions), Excaliburn, Snowbite, Elucerion, Anduril, Gurthang and Guthwine (Yes, I'm borrowing Lords of the Ring)...anything with Fang in the name (Doomfang, Fangbane, Deathfang etc), Carnwennan

Blunt weapons:
Skullcrusher, Skullbasher, Skullshatter (You could go on and on with Skullsomething), Boneshatter, Crusher, Mjöllnir (what's wrong with borrowing from mythology)

Bows:
Quiga, True (as in my aim is true and I never miss), Merlin, Falcon, Peregrin, Kestrel, Swallow, Wind's Kiss,

oh, heck, you can just go to this wiki-page and pick a name there: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_my ... al_objects

Thanks for the list reference, but just for the record, the opposite of Dawnbreaker would be Duskbreaker (although I'm more partial to Duskbringer).

Duskfall, actually (Break of Dawn, Fall of Dusk)
Baurus: Our job is to get the Emperor out of situations like this. Though I'll admit, things aren't going exactly to plan.

Casandra: At the moment, the deadliest weapon at my disposal is a goblin's head on a stick. I'd be worried if this was the plan.

Darkfall has a certain ring to it as well. Dawnbringer? Might work for something that repels undead, and Fiery Soul Trap would be a cool addition to boot with the Extra Effect enchanting perk.

Mix and match or add appropriate prefixes or suffixes to things like "tooth" and "nail", "claw", "fang", "blood", "bone", etc.

Edit: I guess it really boils down to how personal do you want it?

If you want to keep it casual and moving along, then plenty of the more generic naming conventions already suggested should suffice.

If you want a more personal feel, then take more time and put some more thought into it. Pick something personal to you or your character. Maybe something including the character's name (again, as already suggested) or chosen "profession" (along the lines of class). Maybe something about the setting where the base weapon was acquired, the soul being used, the enemies being faced at the time, your most hated "enemy" ("Spiderbite", "Dragonrend", etc.), something relating to being "Dragonborn" or "Dovahkiin" (pretty unique and personal title in and of itself), something unique to your race (as suggested, like the Argonian Ring with Water Breathing). Anything along these lines help give a more personal feel.

I've enchanted a Copper-Onyx Circlet with Fortify Alchemy/Archery and named it the "Eyes of Nimhe". I couldn't use the actual soul energy trapped from Nimhe to enchant it (not big enough), but I did take pains to create the circlet after slaying her. I figured, with those many eyes now on your forehead, your aim gets better. And Nimhe's natural aptitude with poison would give the wearer an insight to crafting such things.

My character Larawen has that same circlet, right down to the copper and onyx. I called it "Larawen's Circlet." I figured a circlet fortifying Alchemy and Archery was a good combo, since her main use of Alchemy is making poisons for her bow.

When it comes to weapons I vote for mace, because of the Armor penetration. So I usually name them Avon Care Face Mace.

I just made a Glass sword of fire called "foeburner" (stolen from the curiously unique yet unenchanted weapon in morrowind) I also used to have a Claymore called "foehammer" Ive considered making an Absorb health dagger called "wicked wither"

I had a sneaky crossbow-wielding illusionist once that had a dwarven crossbow named Ullrsönd. Ullr being the Norse god of archery and önd being the Norse word for "divine breath," creating a compound word meaning "the divine breath of the lord of archery," roughly.

I once had a sword named Iron Sword. the best part was I didn't need to name it, it had the name when I found it.

I typically name my weapons after a deed I committ when using it. Using a sword to slay Ulfric, the sword's now called "Kingslayer". That kinda thing.

That or I take 2 words that sound neat and make a name. Darkstar is a favorite.

I've really only named two memorable blades. I've named countless others, but the ones that have remained permanent in my mind (and in-game) as trusty, legendary weapons, are Kusanagi and Draconarius.
That is to say, one of these days I'll have an archer with a bow named Jaqspur, but that's another day.

My brother had a Daedric Longsword in Morrowind named "Dragonbane". It was a [&@%!] god, and the fire damage alone could one-hit most anything. But that doesn't count as mine.

A recently created character of mine is going to play through the whole Companions storyline (furries, ugh), and so I came up with an idea for his personal sword: he's kept the very first Ancient Nord Sword prized off a slain Draugr and is using it unenchanted. When comes the day that sword gets "cleaned up" at the Skyforge, I'll enchant it with the name 'Meridian' as a division between death and life (as it is a weapon of the undead "crossing over" to become a weapon to fight them).

Ok, did you "borrow" that from "Meridia", or do you think that's where the whole concept behind Meridia and her disdain for the undead came from in the first place?

The word "meridian" is a geographic term referring to a line that cuts the Earth in half vertically. The "Prime Meridian" is the vertical equivalent of the Equator. I believe that's what Dark Spark means, and I love the idea.

I'm well aware of the technical details of "meridian". I was asking in terms of TES lore, but thanks for the geography lesson review, anyways.

Necromancy's just a very specific form of Restoration magic.

'Meridian' as in a dividing line. A sword's blade is very much that in both a figurative (life and death between the wielder and the one he wields it against) and a literal sense (it divides things, too!).

If I pursue the anti-undead aspect, only then does it refer to Meridia. Without that aspect, it's still a nice little name for a blade.

PS: "Anti-Undead" :wat: that's pretty much "Dead", correct? It's like that idea that fire is effective at stopping the undead. Helloooooo, fire works pretty good against the living as well!

All my heros have only had uniquely named equipment, if they already came with names. The only exception to this would be Kara, my dragonborn. Mainly because of the whole words have power theme with the dragonborn character. Her two earliest enchanted weapons have names in the common language, but after she starts learning the dragon language, she starts naming them like that. It helps with the whole "cliche" thing, since they're in another language so it sounds more unique. Also it allows for word combinations that just plain don't sound that great in english.

So, early on she enchanted a silver sword with fire damage, and named it Silver Sun. I would love for her to rename it later, but unfortunately there is no dragon word for silver that has been revealed. Also early on she enchanted an ancient nord bow with fire as well, and named it Emberspit.

As for the dragon language names, she has her glass shield named Kaaniviingge(Kyne's Wings). It has fortify health and resist magic.
She has a nord style waraxe named Shannah(inspire fury), with absorb health and fatigue.
She has a nord style bow named Vennin(wind sting), with fire and shock damage.
She has (modded in) dragonbone waraxe named Paalkren(foebreaker), with Dragonbane's extra damage to dragons effect. In my head she gets a hold of Dragonbane, and wonders at how a sword of this shape wouldn't shatter on a dragon's scales, and disenchants it, much to the chagrin of Esbern and Delphine.
She has a dragonbone shortsword named Malvith(little serpent). In game it's actually a dragonbone sword enchanted with soul trap, and a dragonbone dagger enchanted with paralyze. In my head Malvith is the hard to place length in between dagger and shortsword.

Lastly there's Bruniikah(savage hunter). This name was leftover from my brainstorming, and even though I don't have a weapon for her to attach it to, I really like it. So I think I'll eventually get around to modding in a war dog and use this name for her.

Magic, of course, duh. Just kidding.

:P

But seriously, using the dragon tongue as a naming convention is an excellent idea.
