"For sssmoothssskinsss, perhapsss..." Sees-In-Shade replied distractedly as he leaned over the railing, scanning the sea. Seeing no pursuers, he took a deep breath and scrutinized the water itself. "Hmm, maybe dreugh ... at leassst they do not sssuck blood ..."

Raylis
Raylis took a moment before replying to the Altmer's question. He looked out at the water, though he wasn't searching for anything.
"They are the enemies of the organization I serve. The truth is, we don't know much about them, only their leaders. You saw them yourself, they all wore identical armor, and had their faces concealed. It is assumed that they are man or mer, and that they, just like us are recruited from...a number of places. That does not explain their quantity though. There are many more of them than there are of us. If they attack they will do so by boat. They are bound by the laws of this world just as we are. However they are not the only threat. Though they may not be ghostly-" he glanced over at Valentia, not entirely pleased with the sarcasm, "-pirates are very real and may think us a good target, should they spot us. In all cases, what we will be fighting, if we are going to be fighting at all that is, are people."
With that he hoped the more pressing questions were answered.

Sees-In-Shade shifted his weight from foot to foot nervously, thinking a moment as he turned back to Raylis. "Yesss ... it isss my wish that you do not have to fight anything."

Re: Tamrielic Adventures: Vol. 2
TAMRIELIC ADVENTURES
Vol. 2
Act 2
It was peaceful that first two nights. Largely. Psyfalia, if she had not been already regretting that first sup of skooma, must have been as her condition worsened. It started with sweating - but soon the Altmer found herself feeling nauseous, and within an hour of that she entered full-fledged withdrawal. Fever, stomach pain, vomiting, a sharp headache, insomnia and general restlessness: it wasn't a pretty sight, or a pretty smell, or a pretty anything really. A bucket was dropped in, and Psyfalia received some amount of the crew's water-stores, though otherwise she was mostly left alone; naturally.---
It could not be said that the same peace that pervaded the ship the first couple of nights happened to be so present on the third.
Open-sea had been reached in the late evening - when the crew was but the bare essentials. The ship remained close to the coastline afterwards. The ever-frigid Sea of Ghosts was no place to head out onto any more than one had to, and in the middle of the night where the dangers that lurked in its waters where concealed by night's cloak, any such notions opposed to this went from "incompetent" to "downright moronic". Hugging the coast didn't exclude you from all dangers however: the ship lurched with the onset of storms about 2am, with those below deck being suddenly awakened by a loud thump, and several with a sudden feeling of weightlessness as they where thrown from their hammocks.
It didn't stop there, with the ship continuing to rock as those below deck caught their bearings.
Psyfalia, from the room she'd understandably been left to herself, could hear the commotion coming from the room across: specifically, Sethesi's tone loudly question what was happening around her. If she listened carefully however, the soft gushing of water entering the ship would soon become apparent: and, if she ever decided to glance in the direction of the noise's source, she would have caught the dual-fist sized hole punctured into the ship's hull, from which seawater was rapidly entering. If she ever had an excuse to panic near-manically, this was probably her most legitimate.

Valentia Rumare -a Below Deck
Valentia, having been flung from her hammock in the commotion, hit the deck with a loud thud and a groan. She was never one to wake up with a smile on her face, and were it not for the tense air and apparent abruptness of the situation, she surely would have begun to complain.
"What's... what's happening?" she asked, heaving herself off of the floor.

Sethesi - Below Deck
The young Dunmer awoke on her hammock. It was one of the rare occasions in her life on which she woke feeling terrible; no energy, no will to fight the unfair life given to her. She groaned and closed her eyes again, hoping to forget.
Llevana
The other young Dunmer had barely slept at all; she was simply staring at the ceiling, waiting for the current troubles to pass by. It wasn't like there was much else to do.

Below deck.
Sinyail, his hammock, being as it was the most comfortable hammock as A) unlike basically everyone else he had finest quality elven enchanted pillows and duvet, and B) somewhat more relevantly had used magicka to inertially dampen any movements of the hammock, slept somewhat soundly.
Until the groaning started - His collection of magicka infused sleeping equipment may be many things, but soundproof was not among them. He moved to an upright position, and cast a mage light spell to enable everyone to see, and more importantly, provide enough light to assess whether the groaners upon the floor were hurt from their fall.
No one looked hurt, but he still felt a desire to check. "Anyone injured?"

A small squeak then another thump came from Katien, half awoken whenever she left her hammock, now gathering herself and pulling herself up, glancing around nervously. "W..what was that?" She asked, trying to steady herself upon the rolling floor. Even now she wasn't used to things such as this.

"Yesss..." came the reply to Sinyail. The muffled, pained hissing came from a large chest nearby.
All the hammocks having been taken before his arrival, Sees-In-Shade had laid claim to a large chest full of old dirty rags as his bed. He had slept well, until the great lurching of the ship slammed the chest shut. Startled awake, Sees-In-Shade tried to jump to his feet, and instead found himself in remarkable pain.
"Sssithisss hasss taken my sssight," the Argonian groaned inside the dark chest. "I am passsing down the river ... I can hear it flowing, calling me."

Below Deck
Per let out a startled shout as he was thrown from his hammock, knocking his head hard on the floor. He'd been excruciatingly sober for a couple of days now, and so he was amazed at the fact that he'd managed to fall asleep to begin with. He did not have time to be amazed for long, however. Laying sprawled on the floor he shouted out the hallway: "The Oblivion's that?!"

Below deck, elves' room
Niralie groaned as she pushed herself off the ground, having been startled awake as she tumbled out of her own hammock. "Unnh. ...No, I'm fine," she answered Sinyail. Niralie was was glad she'd had the last few days to heal her shoulder, so that it wasn't re-injured in the fall. The muscles were still a bit stiff yet, but thanks to frequent healing spells, the wound was mended and pain-free, with just a nasty scar as the only evidence of the incident.
She brushed herself off and rubbed her bleary eyes as she rose, gazing around in confusion as she heard what sounded like a muffled voice coming from a chest on the side of the room. "What's going on?"

Re: Tamrielic Adventures: Vol. 2
Psyfalia had been in a right state for the past 72 hour and stank of vomit, poop and sweat. She had been up for 48 hours and had gone a bit insane. The crew members may have heard her speaking to herself as a result of her seeing things. It felt like someone had casted a thunderstorm inside of her head and her stomach felt like it was ripping itself to pieces.
"The t-trick to... oh what was it? Yes, i'll t-t-teach her. S-she ha.." She had tried to focus on her teaching methods but sadly, the skooma thoughts had overwhelmed her but she was planning on using the experience to study the field of skooma addiction to help further the healing arts.
She was thrown off the hammock and hit the wooden floor. It wasn't good for her condition and felt something wet. She looked up and saw that there was a hole in her cabin. She felt panic set in. "SINKING!" She yelled before throwing up and attempted to make her way out of her cabin but for her, she may as well been fighting Molag Bal with a fishstick.

Below Deck - "Elf's" Room
Arellius had awoke with the start of the lurching, torn from his sleep by the sudden commotion. His hand, instinctively, reached for a blade, and he turned in sharply to face the cabin's interior. That was when he gasped, his un-woken mind having forgotten his injury: it felt like the injury was being wrought-over with each substantial movement. It was slower than the rest then that the Imperial began to gather himself.
In the moments it had taken for those in the cabin to refocus, the harsh myriad of noise about them had become more individualised and distinguishable. Most apparent was the sound of wind clattering against wood, overwhelmed momentarily by the clap of thunder the broke through every few seconds. Incomprehensible and hurried shouting from above deck could soon be made out however at a pitch below this: just a noise, with no distinct words or sentiments being evident. It was was people had begun to pick up on the voices upstairs that a female voice broke through the discordant mess:

Valentia Rumare
The moment she heard the word 'sinking', Valentia grabbed her bag and made a beeline for the deck. Anywhere would be better than below-deck with water pouring it.

Below Deck - "Elf's" Room
Arellius was quickly after Valentia, shedding his grogginess at Psyfalia's cries. Of course, if there hadn't been such a panic about him he might have stopped for a moment to doubt the shouts from the other room: Psyfalia was an idiot and withdrawal had made her crazier, but at that moment the only thoughts that passed through his mind concerned getting out of there. Both the Imperial and the Breton did not catch sight of Psyfalia, who remained inside her own room, clawing largely unsuccessfully out into the halls, and reached the door which opened out to above deck about the same time as each other.
Here, the shouting from above was much more distinguishable, with the Captain's tone clearly directing people to get the sails back up.

"Arellius!" Valentia shouted as she heard the Imperial following behind her. "What's going on?" she asked as she looked around. She had never been on a ship in such a situation before, so she wasn't exactly sure what to look at.

Niralie - Below Deck
Niralie forgot the voice in the chest as soon as she heard Psyfalia's shout. She hastened to the other Altmer's room, nearly gagging at the stench that wafted out as she reached it. She found Psyfalia on the floor and water pouring in through a hole in the wall. She tensed and stood at the door for a moment, torn briefly between which to attend to first, and went for Psyfalia, readying a healing spell as she rushed to her aid. "This should ease the withdrawal enough to help you get out," she explained quickly as she applied it. Without waiting for a response, she rose and turned to the hole in the wall.
She aimed a frigid, wind-like frost spell at it, hoping to flash-freeze some water around the hole. She didn't know if it would do anything - more than likely, it would just cause frost to form on the wood around it, not affecting it in any way - but if she managed it, perhaps she could slow or stop the flow. Even if she failed to stop it, at least Psyfalia would have about as much of a chance as the others to survive.

Elf Room.
Sinyail had gone across and opened up the chest to let the Argonian out, before moving and acquiring his things. Once done, he moved away to join Niralie.
"Good plan." Before casting an Restoration spell to simply reform and heal the wood surrounding the breach.

Re: Tamrielic Adventures: Vol. 2
Below deck
Sees-In-Shade sat up in the chest and nodded his thanks to the elf's retreating back. While most of the crew panicked and fled, the Argonian took stock of the situation and became uncharacteristically serene. Though his head throbbed, he had his sight back, and he was reasonably sure his soul wasn't an imminent risk from the wrath of Sithis. A sinking ship was one of the few things which caused the water-breather no anxiety at all.
He got up slowly and made sure he had his sword. As he began to follow the crowd, he saw the two mages attempting to fix the hull breach in Psyfalia's room while the sick elf languished on the floor. Having no way to help them, Sees-In-Shade began to gingerly pick up the stinky elf and make his way to the deck.

Re: Tamrielic Adventures: Vol. 2
Below Deck - Stairway
Arellius, to-the-point as always, didn't offer much by-way of a verbal response: a short grunt was the only indication that he'd even heard the woman's question. He marched hurriedly forward by her and threw open the door. It was not an encouraging scene. The dark shapes of bodies could be made out and their identities slowly realised through shouts just audible above the howling wind - The captain was nowhere to be seen with rather Raylis shouting order at those around him despite his presumed lack of sea-faring experience.
"Get the mast back up! No chance of getting to shore without it."
As their eyes became adjusted to the darkness the blown-over mast became more and more distinguishable. The boat was hurtling forward with the harsh wind - directionless.
Below Deck -Arellius' Psyfalia's Room
Psyfalia felt some improvement in her condition with the spell. It still hurt to breath and she still felt somewhat nauseous and a slight buzzing in her head continued - but it was nowhere near as debilitating as it should have been given her condition. She'd barely begun to realise this however as the Argonian bent down to whisk her up off the ground ... and promptly fell onto his back from the weight of the 7ft woman in his arms.
Meanwhile Niralie and Sinyail persevered fruitlessly with their magic. Sinyail soon realised that trying to "grow" wood required a serious amount of energy and was left exhausted before even a fifth of the breach could be covered - it closed the gap but to no significant level. Niralie herself found that gushing water was exactly as difficult to freeze as previously imagined and she found herself unable to freeze anything to a thickness sufficient enough to close the breach - the damp wood surrounding it however did itself become covered in an icy sheen as also expected.
Below Deck -
Psyfalia felt some improvement in her condition with the spell.

Valentia Rumare - On Deck
Valentia's lack of seafaring experience was much more definite than Raylis', and couldn't hazard a guess at which part of the ship the 'mast' was; even then, she doubted she could assist with what physical strength she had.
"Can you help them?" she asked Arellius, grabbing hold of the nearest support structure she could to steady herself.

Psyfalia's room.
Sinyail attempted to hide the unexpected difficulty of healing the wood by joining Niralie in just freezing the breach. "Hmm, the freezing isn't helping the wood to grow, let's use your method."

Niralie's hands dropped to her sides as she realized how futile their efforts were. "It's no use," she said to Sinyail. "The water's moving far too fast, and there's too much of it. I'll try it if you wish... but I fear it would be a waste of magicka and time."

"Perhaps. If the water is moving too fast and in too great a quantity we need to convince it to flow less and flow slower. Illusion or Alteration would serve for that. Or would simply just fill the hole with something else, that would probably be easier."
Sinyail looked around for something that would do.
