Dawnguard and the main quest (Need roleplay advice).

Post by WillieMakeit »

Hey guys. I'm starting another game and I would really like to get into a more long term character with Dawnguard installed, but I've always had trouble fitting it into the main quest so I usually leave it uninstalled until later on due to roleplaying purposes. This time I'm doing things a bit different from what I normally do and starting it right off the bat. I just have a few restrictions,

1.) Dawnguard has to at least fit in with the main quest (obviously), Dragonborn, and the civil war (either side). The rest of the guilds I'll work in myself.

2.) I have issues with the random Vampire attacks that kill vital NPC's (Namely merchants), so I would probably have to avoid towns/cities until I finish the Dawnguard quest.

3.) I've been a Vampire once, and I'd really like to be a Werewolf this time, but there's a problem. Due to spoilers I won't say what that is, but it involves a quest in Whiterun (I'm sure most of you know which one though). Vampire attacks might screw with this one.

4.) I want to play a Mage this time (No crafting/enchanting though. I usually play a sneaky archer).

5.) No exploits (Hidden merchant chests, glitches, etc. I've never done a playthrough like this, so it should be interesting.)

6.) I'm not starting the main quest right away (At least until the Vampires are dealt with), so going to Riverwood at the beginning is out of the question.

7.) Thinking of being either an Orc, Dark Elf, or an Argonian (I usually just play a Nord or Khajiit, but I wanna try something different).

8.) Not sure if I'm gonna be good or evil this time, but I'm leaning toward good. (No more playing it safe with neutral characters).

9.) I'm probably gonna join the Dawnguard from what I've written so far.

10.) Helping me name my character would be great. I suck with names.

Any other advice would be helpful too. Also, I'm playing the PS3 version atm, so mods are out.

Thanks.

Edit: nevermind. You guys were too slow. I already made a character. Another wasted topic.

First dawnguard and the vamps dont start till level 10.
Second there is normaly only one attack in town after talking to DG but then seem to stop like the dragons at a certain point if you dont continue the quest. plan your city.
Then go after the quest with a passion if your worried about people.
also you can arm the npcs to protect them selves if pick pocket is good.. I usualy give a sheild and better mace to blacksmiths. also only go into towns during the day they attack at dawn, or night,
