Why is everyone is saying "You don't look too good"?

Post by dedawen »

When I hit I think level 47 or so suddenly guards and even my house stewards (and my manor's bard, once) will stop and say something along the lines of, "No offense but you don't look so well." I haven't changed anything - I do have the werewolf form and am accustomed to the "wolfish grin" comments, but this is a first. I figured these comments would be more for a vampire who's appearance changes. Once when I was nekkid someone told me I would have better luck if I went and put some clothes on (that made me LOL) but being told I don't look so good is the only NPC remark I can't find a cause for.

Suggestions?

Thanks!

Edited to add: I know its nothing major or game-stopping, just curiosity.

You've probably picked up a disease. Activating any Shrine or using a Cure Disease potion should fix things.

Hmm but I have Lycanthropy. Doesn't that make me resistant to diseases?

I think you can still get infected by bear traps and the like.
Baurus: Our job is to get the Emperor out of situations like this. Though I'll admit, things aren't going exactly to plan.

Casandra: At the moment, the deadliest weapon at my disposal is a goblin's head on a stick. I'd be worried if this was the plan.

Werewolves are definitely vulnerable to infection from traps. Falmer traps seem to be the worst, in my experience. Their traps must be absolutely nasty with germs.

Nope, werewolf is 100% disease resistance. Maybe they randomly say it whilst you're a werewolf?

Otherwise, my advice would be to take your disc out occasionally, gently wipe it for a second, and put it back in. My disc sometimes decides to be glitchy without an occasional cleaning. NPCs would address me as being the wrong race, some are mute, and yes, I'd sometimes be addressed as if I were diseased. So you should probably just give your disc a quick wipedown and you'll be good.

Weird. I've never ever caught a single disease while being a werewolf, myself. --Still, it's probably a good idea to clean your disc. As well as a visit to a shrine or popping a cure disease potion, to be sure...

It might be that you were just more careful about not setting off traps. My lycanthrope character wasn't so careful where she stepped...

I was kinda making that up about the Falmer traps being worse than others, though. It probably just seemed that they transmitted diseases more frequently. I doubt there was really any difference.

It's easy to see why you'd think that, considering everything Falmer-related looks like it's made of snot.

Or simply is that your char hasn't had any sleep in two weeks ? :D

(I always felt this as a major "bug" in the game, that sleep isn't necessary and you don't just collapse from fatigue)

Set the game's timescale to 1 second, and then you'll be putting your character bed simply to pass the time until the shops re-open.

Personally, I'm glad the game doesn't require your character to sleep. That would be a game-breaker for me.
