Niralie - On Deck
"Yeah," Niralie replied. "Well, I'm not going to try and guess what's going on in his mind." They continued around the deck of the ship until they came upon Sinyail and Raylis talking. "Oh, there he is," Niralie said, pointing, when she noticed them. She approached, waiting back slightly to give them time to finish their conversation.

Re: Tamrielic Adventures: Vol. 2
"More like a boar." Psyfalia told Sethesi as she slowly rocked from side to side whilst the ship was in motion and let out a gasp as the pain flared up for a second. "Nasty creatures when provoked. Common hunting injuries." She informed the Dunmer as the hammock swung gently from side to side. She let out another painful gasp and knew she was being stupid by talking but it was distracting her from her situation.

On deck
Sees-In-Shade plaintively looked back and forth between Raylis and Sinyail several times and rapidly shifted his weight from foot to foot in high anxiety while his tail trembled. He wanted to butt in and scream his question at Raylis again until he got an answer, but he was far too timid.

Raylis
"I see," Raylis said and nodded. Ten years seemed a little excessive, and didn't sound like any sort of payed holiday he'd ever heard of, but he didn't know too much about the wizards. "I assume that will be quite enough, yes."
Sethesi
"Huh-hum," Sethesi said, nodding slowly. "Kinda like Kagouti, then. They made a right mess of old Suran."
Llevana
"About as long as it took you to get here, I'd wager," she replied to the Nord with a sympathetic smile.

"Good. Still, regardless of duration, it is nice to have a break from the in-fighting and the politics."
Sinyail sat down on the deck.

Niralie - On Deck
Niralie, seeing Sinyail sit, assumed that the conversation was done, and approached the older Altmer. "Good morning," she said in greeting. "Raylis had wanted us mages to talk about defense strategies. Would you like to join us?" She paused for a moment, and added, slightly hesitantly, "We'd probably better rejoin Psyfalia for the conversation; she'll hopefully be healed enough to help by the time we might need it."

"Eh, right, so that's where we're going," Per mumbled, scratching his chin. "Back to the Imperial City, I mean. To join up with some... Org'nization? Am I in the loop?"

"I suppose." Psyfalia said to Sethesi as she rocked from side to side in her hammock and felt the pain flare up in her chest. She flinched for a few seconds before the pain subsided and started to feel more queasy. "Where are you from?" She asked the Dunmer whilst slowly looking up at her.

Sinyail stood up, before addressing Niralie as they began to walk to the lower deck.
"Of course. There are a myriad of ways to defend this ship; First we need to work out what we want to defend against."

Valentia Rumare - On Deck
Tia looked out to the sea as they spoke with Sinyail, thinking about whatever might assail them. "Well... logically someone would have to sail at us to get to us. So, fire, yes? It's the bane of the wooden ship, after all. Nice and simple."

"Don't be so sure of a mundane attack, whatever is after us is not that. And besides, one inclination from me and any inbound hostile ship will rapidly become a sinking hostile ship. No, the shifting waters upon which we walk are stirred by others, and the mixing intents of these others is what we mages must define."
Sinyail thoughtfully looked out across the waters.

Valentia Rumare - On Deck
"Well, what else are you expecting, Sinyail?" Valentia asked aloud, with more annoyance in her tone than she had intended. "Vampires again, appearing out of nowhere? Fire. Massive enemy ship? Fire. Pink winged trolls from the uncharted reaches of Oblivion itself? Fire. We don't exactly have the time to put up a detailed defense plan, do we?"
Her outburst was less an objection and more of a spew fueled by the realization that she had little idea how to fight. In the few fights Valentia had been in, she had either ran, made herself invisible and then ran, or got to a safe place and threw fire at everything in sight.

Sees-In-Shade, about to tap Raylis and repeat his question, lost his voice again as he listened to Valentia list the hazards they may face.
"Vampires?" he finally croaked. "Again?!"

Niralie - On Deck
Niralie looked to the side toward the Argonian. "Yes, we ran into one back in Suran," she explained, speaking as casually as if she were talking about going on a shopping trip. Plenty had happened within the last day; a vampire stood out no more than the other events. "We killed it."
She turned back to her companions. "We'll have to be careful with fire, though, if we're fighting in close quarters." she pointed out to Valentia. "Ice or lightning might be less dangerous to us, in that case." She paused and focused on Sinyail. "What did you have in mind, though?"

Sinyail faced the women. "As mages, our best defence and our best weapon is our knowledge. At this point in time, it is also what we lack. So, our first course of action is to establish exactly what we are dealing with, and our second should be act upon what we learn. To be more precise, we need Raylis, as he, logically, must know more than we do."
Sinyail turned back to the waters. "And then we concern ourselves with what is out there."

Re: Tamrielic Adventures: Vol. 2
Still on deck & still Maurzol
The orc, little was his interest from the scenes and conflict. Where as others bickered or guided aimlessly, he kept at work atop the ship being one of the few to value a fair amount of work. Even the scaled addition drew not his concern, only as proof as how little he cared of not just he but many amongst this failed pack of misfits. Even atop the deck where sails should be made, gossip and drama were dealed instead. Pariah he be, proud Maurzol was, but to belittle himself to stand amongst these pups and their excessive barking, even he needed a pause to bring himself calm. His thoughts were clouded in swears and curses, turning toxic they were.
Upon the planks and their withered wood, right amongst the center of deck, he took his seat with his ever grumpy tone. To do nothing was far from acceptable, but neither did he wish to 'befriend' any of these pathetic welps. Instead he just bared his axe, prefering to sharpen and shine so that his next kill may be fresh. Maurzol needs no help from any, he is strong, they are not. The sooner he gets to land the quicker he may return to the snow, and maybe bring with him a prize or two to boast.

Valentia Rumare - On Deck
"My thoughts?" Valentia asked, her eyebrow arcing at Sinyail. "You already heard my thoughts. I don't know very much about actual combat; truthfully I'll be more likely to just throw fireballs at everything anyway. I'm skilled enough to tell it to not burn our own ship."

Sees-In-Shade's tail shivered more and more as he listened to this talk. The sound of the Orc sharpening his axe made him flinch with each swipe, and he was petrified by thoughts of big boats full of flying vampire pirate troll ghosts bearing down upon them.
Sinyail's comment was the last straw. "What!? Sssomething chasssesss usss?!" He frantically scanned the waters aft of the ship. "Are they pink? Where can I hide?"

"No idea Argonian, in all probability there is nowhere to hide." Sinyail delivered the phrase in an entirely serious way, curious about how he would react.
