You know things have gone to [&@%!] when he's saying totally random [&@%!] like 'You need to stop being like your friends and be your own person' which I guess is his way of trying to 'make fun' of the fact that I have friends..

Gah. To be honest I'm glad it's over, he was so friggin' high maintenance.

This weekend I went out-of-state with my family to my cousin's wedding. Spent part of yesterday resting at home, and then today I came to a waterpark resort for a conference for work. I've really been enjoying myself - saw quite a few speakers, an adorable playful tiger cub, and had lots of delicious food and drinks. :D

Why is that work conferences I go to are lucky to be catered? Alarra, high roller in society.

Alarra is very lucky and i may or may not be a bit jealous that she is being paid to go to a waterpark.

Speaking of work, the damn college locking system is still down and someone blocked the damn men's toilet. Because we are based in the college, there is nothing i can do about it apart from wait for them to resolve it and hope that i can get into the damn hub every day. But the worst thing is, we have been denied access to our kitchen meaning no tea or coffee :hate: :hate: !

I lost $50! I last had it at lunch today and placed the wad of cash inside my purse so it wouldn't fall out, but it DID. Argh! That was my gas money for the week. I'm so sad! :'(

Got my leaving cert results back today. I managed to get 5 points off (<5% in 1 of 6 subjects off) my course. Though, I'm going to get economics rechecked - because there's literally no way I could have only got a B1; my worst econ score, like, ever - so that might change. On the brightside, I got a surprise A1 in history, which probably means that the supposed-to-be-year-long research project I crammed into two weeks, on the development of woman's rights in Leninist Russia (I choose that, yes), got an A1 too.

I plan on going out later tonight to celebrate.

I didn't understand any of that first part, but since you're celebrating I assume that means you did well. good job! :P

Anyways, today I start school. Yay. And that's not entirely sarcasm - I actually go to a school with decent people in it, somehow, so I'm kind of looking forward to it.

I meant to be up and about at around 11 today. It is now 15:30 and I'm still in my pajamas. I'm going to meet friends later tho, so it's alright. The only trouble is, I am very short on cash. I also got a call from an unknown (to me) German number yesterday but I missed the call. I'm afraid to call back.

I really don't like the heat... Or smoke. It's so hot in here that I feel like I'm melting and, to add to the fun, there's a ton of smoke around here again. From the various wildfires. There was enough smoke in the atmosphere earlier that the sun was a dull red.

Anyway... I have spent most of the past few days caring for the animals, writing, working out, and making random crap in Spore. Mostly because there's absolutely nothing else to do. Though I did notice that my PC was running hotter than it should (despite the weather), so I pulled the GPU out to clean it. Getting it back in was a problem because I couldn't line up the screws for some stupid reason. I did eventually get it back in without breaking anything.

I've also noticed that there are wasps swarming on the deck now. The dog refuses to eat inside, but the wasps are chasing her away from her food outside.
I'm fairly certain they're attracted to the dried fish stuck to the barbeque grill. From a few months ago. It's disgusting, but nobody ever bothered to clean it. Wasps. What you get from that is wasps. My father was supposed to fix the barbeque a while ago, too, and he never did that. Bah. Might as well get a new one... Except the dog would eat that as well.

Eh. I think I might just go to bed soon. I'm tired. Not that I can actually sleep at night considering it's 30 degrees in here. With high humidity, so it's feeling closer to 40. Best time for sleeping would probably be the morning when it's the coolest, but that isn't possible.
All hail!

I finally finished writing the story I was working on... All thirty pages of it. I didn't think it was going to go on for quite that long. At least it's done now so I can type it. Well... Maybe after I do a few more related things.

Anyway, I didn't really do much today beyond writing and watching the Lord of the Rings films again. I did clean the fish tanks (a little overdue) and that convinced the catfish in the oldest tank to spawn (eggs got eaten). Something tells me I'm going to have to mop the floors tomorrow, too. My feet were black after wandering around inside all day. It's either I mop the floors or wear socks.

Eh. Tomorrow is shopping day, though. My mother is staying out in BC for another week, so I've had to make a list of required items that I'll have to pick up tomorrow. My father is coming with me and he's going to spend most of his time in his vehicle with the dog. Knowing him, he'll have a nap and leave me stranded in a store with no way of paying for the groceries. I wouldn't be getting anything if it wasn't necessary, but we're almost out of cat food. I'll have enough to last until Monday morning and that's it. Not much left for food during the week, too. I'm going to have to come up with something because having eggs every night for dinner would not go well.

As far as I know, the list has everything on it. Including a new can opener because the old one has finally given in. It's starting to rust. I couldn't open a can of dog food earlier. Neither could my father. The gears were doing more damage to the can than the actual cutting disc. Methinks it's a little dull.

For now, though, it's bed time. Things are slightly cooler in here so I might actually be able to sleep tonight. Might. If that person will kindly stop lighting fireworks.

So yesterday I ended up spending my time at the school practicing some skills prior to my externship within the lab and clinic<_< spent 3 hours doing mostly injections, namely IM's, SC's and a few ID's  All the while I was explaining and prepping my younger peers the procedure and what they have to look forward to during their training. One of the peers who's a fellow classmate that just joined this Mod, I helped him catch up on a few proficiencies since he missed so much time in class(Father died, so it's a reasonible excuse). Ended up doing just EKG's and taking my BP. I gotta say though, from just how little he's been there and how few proficiencies he's done, it's no doubt he knows these skills and has them down. Pure natural, even if he underestimates his own skill :wat: May lack on the knowledge side seeing as he's missed on so many lectures, but he's certainly one of the best when it comes down to clinical skills thus far.

Anyways, next week my classes end and my externship begins and continues on till Oct. Going to be working at a Internal Med. & Ped. site, so while it may not be an Urgent Care.. it has 4 M.D's and a NP, so things are going to be very busy. I guess on the plus side my friend Thomas has his wife working there>_> so at least I have somebody who can show be the ropes that's dealth with externs before. Wish me luck :P bc I'm going to need it Image

The dog is really starting to annoy me. Whenever I go to call her inside, she takes ages. Every time I open the door to try and call her in, at least a hundred mosquitoes fly inside the house. Holding the door open to scream at the dog? Yeah. The walls are covered in mosquitoes. The fact that I feel like I have to wear mosquito spray inside is annoying. Those bloody bugs are swarming around the door and around the lights. Can't get away from them.

Anyway... I did pick up a new can opener yesterday and I tested it out today when I went to open another can of dog food. Unlike the other can opener (which had a 15 minute struggle involving two people just to open one can), this one cut through the top like... Well... A knife cuts through soft butter. Huge difference.

Eh. I had to spend a good chunk of my day lying on the couch because of another massive headache. Once it went away, I switched to playing Oblivion until it got too hot in here again. After that, I did the usual routine of making dinner, feeding the animals, lifting weights and whatnot... I watched TV for about an hour (new season of Don't Drive Here). Once that was over, I tried to make the Avatar of Akatosh in Spore. It didn't work. Got the body where I wanted it, but that let no complexity for wings. So my Avatar of Akatosh has really lame "wings" that just consist of an arm, a false claw, and an ear part that happens to resemble a portion of a bat wing. No flame, either, but that's not possible with Spore.

I would try to fix those wings, but I already spent 10 or 15 minutes fussing over them (trying different ways to make them look like wings - nothing worked). It's too late to do anything now. I'm just going to go to bed.

Ugh, I'm writing a paper for a course in ethics but I misread the instructions to start with. I thought you had to answer 1 of 3 questions but actually you had to answer all 3.
Whelp, time to [&@%!] 3-4 pages of ethics before noon tomorrow.

I took my laptop out earlier with the intention of typing some more of the story I was working on, but for whatever reason, I wound up spending most of the day playing Black and White... Well, not really playing. I was just trying to get my creature up to full size... I left the game open all day on the custom Extreme Growth map. At least the tiger was smart enough not to eat his own dung. Unlike the turtle I have here on my desktop. The only real playing I did was a few scrolls on the first land and that was after my tiger finally reached full size. Now I just have to do the tedious supply gathering before I advance the story.

Anyway... I didn't really do much else today. Accidentally slept in this morning so I had to rush the last bag of garbage down. Caught the guy who was collecting the trash just as he was about to leave. Wound up starting to watch the Lord of the Rings films again (mostly because there is absolutely nothing good on TV) while I was teaching my creature to feed himself on Black and White.

After dinner, I messed around on my PC for a while. I was going to play some Oblivion, but it decided to crash and I gave up. Besides, I had found a mod for Black and White 2 that fixes the broken wolf creature model. The person who made it didn't leave any install instructions, so I had to guess and now I'm waiting for my wolf to age so I can see if the fix worked.

I got bored after a while and found some Lord of the Rings behind the scenes stuff to watch on Youtube. Spent the last half hour chuckling about some of that. Now I'm going to bed. Mostly because I just realized that it's 12:30am and I don't really want to sleep in again. That messes up the older cat's insulin timing.
