Hmm. Ill check...

Ok, she is in Arellius' room. But that just means you swap around, after all, he and everyone else isn't going to stay in there...

Fixed.

On Deck

Valentia sighed. "Oh, lovely... You may have to talk to Niralie about that. Don't want you to go the entire voyage without getting your shoulder healed. It looks quite painful. I'd help if I could, but I doubt I'd do anything but dull the pain for a while. Which, I could do, if you'd like." she suggested, lowering the blade.

"But, as you said, basics first."

Arellius Afer III - Above Deck

Arellius gave a slight, almost-disparaging shake of his head as Niralie was mentioned: there was no chance of him going pleading to her over his shoulder, he wasn't even going to consider it. He'd rather tough it out: broken bones was something he'd dealt with before, and could deal with again. His reluctance to go begging to the High Elf however didn't stop him from accepting help from her much more amiable companion, and it was with no reluctance that he accepted the Breton's offer. "If y'think y'can help, then I'd appreciate't; and then we can get t'the trainin'."

"perhaps but it is unlikely." Psyfalia told Sinyail and hoped that she would be capable of walking soon. She wondered if Niralie had any spare parchment because she could write about her awful or rather, soon to be awful experience of skooma withdrawal. She knew how limited the knowledge of skooma was and prehaps she could do something useful with her addiction for once.

Valentia Rumare - On Deck

The breton nodded and focused on Arellius' hurt arm. "Alright, then, just a moment. Hold still." she said, lifting her free hand as it began to glow with a soft orange light. She brought the glowing hand close to the shoulder and focuses, putting her spell into full effect to do the very best she could to dull the pain.

Below deck.

"Maybe. Maybe not. Many decades ago I was on an expedition to High Rock, and our party accidently drank water from a yellow fever bearing stream. I was fine, the rest of the group was comprised mostly of Colovian humans, who took to varying degrees of illness. No one died thankfully, we sourced enough cures to go around. And yet just a week later I knocked a lit candle onto my hand, the slight burn scar lasted for over twenty years..."

Sinyail realised he was just wittering on and stopped.

Arellius Afer III - Above Deck

There was several moments when Arellius thought that nothing was going to happen: a bring orange glow encompassed his entire shoulder, but not for a moment did anything about it feel different. The change in that regard came slowly, leaving him barely even sure when it had started, but satisfied that something had happened when it had ended: he wasn't sure what until the woman had stepped away and he flexed his shoulder.

He'd almost gasped, but managed to suppress it: it still hurt, but nowhere near as it had before; before he would have been unable to even make the move.

"It work'd." He allowed a small, appreciative purse-lipped smile to follow the exclamation, before returning to his usual look of stern aloofness. He passed the blade to his right hand, raised it slightly, and then passed it back "Guess we can move on then." He took a stance himself; pointing the blade diagonally towards the ground, inclined half-way across his body. "Copy't. That's th'stance y'take when yer waitin' on'em t'make a move."

It should be noted again that I don't know much about swordfighting, or anything.

I'd even suggest just skipping this bit, and doing some sort of aftermath.

Posted with Velv's permission!
After the better part of an hour, Arellius had successfully passed off a few basics of swordplay and the act of defending oneself with a weapon. Despite his injury, Arellius did a good job passing off what he knew through almost words alone.

"I think I understand." Valentia told her impromptu-teacher, handing his sword back to him and then bowing in thanks. "Thank you, Arellius. Maybe this trip won't be so awful after all."

Raylis - On Deck

"I see," he said to Niralie. "I'd like to say that she will at least be safe now that we're almost on open sea but that would be a blatant lie." He sighed and turned, looking over at the landscape passing them by. His eyes looked sharp as if they were scanning the land. "Our pursuers have surprisingly left us alone thus far but nothing says they will not attack us on sea. There might also be pirates, not to mention storms. We have to be prepared for everything."

The ship had moved a decent distance upriver now. Vivec was becoming smaller.

"I will talk to the fighters about fighting at sea; try to set up some defense protocols." He turned back to the Altmer. "Do you think you could do the same with the mages? Speak to Sinyail, he's been very quiet so far but I have it on good authority that he is our prime magical asset."

Llevana

The Dunmer had been trying to find Llela, but she was nowhere to be seen. Instead, she approached Per and boxed him in the shoulder.

"Ey."

Nu-elven hammock room.

As time flowed onwards, Sinyail managed to finally contact Mavon Drenim by means aetherial. The news was only partially good, for Psyfalia. Sinyail wandered to her hammock.

"Well, there is good and bad news. Bad news is Mavon has nothing he wishes to share with a skooma addict, but I am at least free to adventure for as long as I deem necessary..."

Psyfalia remained silent and had no idea who Mavon was. She started to mentally go over the laws of magic to keep her mind distracted from the Skooma.

On deck

Raylis unwittingly cured Sees-In-Shade's hiccups, as rattling off the dangers they might face made the Argonian's breath get caught in his throat. His tail began rattling back and forth again as his eyes darted around again, looking for any danger. He had begun to relax for the first time in a long time when the boat started moving. He thought he could be free on the sea, just for a while. He sliced at the potatoes even faster as the clanging of the sword training at the bow put him further and further on edge.

Eventually, he figured they had more than enough, and urgently sought out Raylis. "What mussst I do if we are attacked?" he asked quickly.
Spoiler:
Technically, aren't we on the Inner Sea?

Niralie - On deck

Niralie was about to retort to the Argonian's "pain to forget pain" comment, saying that Psyfalia would have dealt with the withdrawal well enough with healing potions and spells and didn't have to be in pain, but Raylis spoke before she got the chance.

She bit her lip nervously as he covered the possible dangers. She'd only been on a ship once before, traveling to Vvardenfell, and it had been an uneventful voyage - a relaxing one, even. She hadn't really considered back then what could happen - and that voyage hadn't involved a group of mysterious enemies pursuing them. Despite her uncertainty, she nodded. "I will." Not sure what else to say, she walked to the rail of the ship and stood there for a while, staring out at the landscape around them, considering what a mage could do in a sea battle. Eventually she decided that just thinking about it was getting her nowhere. She started to look for the others, beginning with Valentia, who she had last seen on deck.

She found the Breton at the bow with Arellius. "Hey there," she greeted Valentia, ignoring the Imperial. "Raylis wants the mages to talk about possible defense strategies. Do you want to go with me to find Sinyail and discuss it with him?"

Valentia Rumare - On Deck

Valentia spun around upon hearing Niralie's voice, a little startled. She didn't know how much time had passed in her short training session, but she had plenty in her head to consider and she didn't exactly want to immediately jump to something else that would push it all out of her mind.

Still, defense was important. She had never defended a ship before. Combat in general was a rare occasion for her.

"Alright." the Breton said. "That sounds fair. Any idea where Sinyail is?"

On deck

"Eygh," Per replied through a mouthful of apple. As he felt the ship sway beneath him, he burped uneasily.

"Y'know... Less than, eh... fourtyeight-something hours 'go I swore to myself on my honor as a Nord that I'd never travel by ship again." He gestured melodramatically towards the mast. "Goes ta' show what my word is worth, eh?"

N-EHR.

Sinyail noted the glazing over as she clearly didn't understand who Mavon Drenim was.

"Look, I should probably inform Raylis about my conversation with House Telvanni's Vivec based Spellwright. Ill be back at some point."

With that, he left, and went upstairs, and as he exited onto the deck he asked, "Raylis, do you have a moment?"

Arellius Afer III - Above Deck

Arellius had only just finished his 'lesson' when the High Elf approached, butting in before he could formulate a response for Valentia. He listened carefully at first, the immediate mention of Raylis spiking his interest, though as the conversation turned to magic he quickly lost interest; lacking something to do, he began to re-sheath both his blades. It was then he noticed how stiff his shoulder had become, or returned to being; he grimaced as the blade in his right hand was plunged back into his sheath.

Niralie - On Deck

Niralie shrugged in response to Valentia. "I'm not sure. I haven't seen him since earlier. There's only so many places he can be around here, though." She noticed Arellius' grimace, but didn't comment on it. At least, until she had begun walking away with Valentia.

"I'd be nervous around him with unsheathed blades," Niralie remarked in an undertone to the Breton. "But to each her own, I suppose. What's his problem, anyway? He was making faces back there."

Llevana

"Everything seems to be worth precisely nothing these days," Llevana said and nodded. "I really have to wonder how we managed to get into this mess. It's like years have passed, even though we've only been in this case of affairs for a couple of weeks."

Raylis

The Dunmer heard Sinyail and stopped.

"Yes, I do. What is it?"

Sethesi

Sethesi was sitting on a barrel in the cabin in which Psyfalia lay. It was Arellius' cabin, right? It would be a lot of fun to get him to sleep somewhere else, she was sure.

"Someone once told me that if you want to die all you have to do is poke a dragon in the eye. Guess you're lucky that Arellius is just a lizard."

Per and 'Vana

"Aye," replied Per, throwing the apple core over his shoulder, letting it hit the water with a satisfying splash. He stood up and stared longingly back to Vivec before turning back to Llevana. "Speakin' of the time... You got any idea how long this trip'll take?" His blue eyes darted towards his sack. "I ain't exactly got... much to go on. Eh, strength an' energy wise, I mean."
