Valentia nodded and nudged a finger in Arellius' direction. "What he said. She's a skooma junkie." she clarified. "Frankly she's been rather inept at hiding it, if I might say so myself. So, she's not high, just... very, very sober."

Re: Tamrielic Adventures: Vol. 2
"It hurts to breath." Psyfalia told her friend as she looked at the woman with the same pained expression on her face. "I-i'm..." She said before drinking the health potion that she had been given. She had feared that this day would come but a part of her wanted for her secret to be revealed to get herself some much needed help with overcoming the addiction. "I'm suffering from a Skooma addiction and suffering from withdrawals." She told everyone gathered around her hammock. "Over the next few days, i will start vomiting a lot and have diarrahea." She told Niralie. There was a lot of shame in her voice and she hoped that a few people would remain at her side. She knew what society thought of skooma addicts and knew what addicts were like without their fix. Prehaps it was ironic, that she was now suffering from withdrawal.

Re: Tamrielic Adventures: Vol. 2
Cabin
Niralie tried to avoid visibly cringing at Psyfalia's comment, especially when she got to the part about her bodily functions. I'd forgotten about the skooma. This isn't good - for her or us. She took the potion from Psyfalia and took a sip herself, deciding that using it would be more convenient than repeatedly applying healing spells.
She set it down and stood for a moment, thinking. "I don't know much about skooma withdrawal, but I would think you could probably relieve some of the physical symptoms with healing spells and potions... I still think you're going to be in for a rough voyage, though." Somewhat uncomfortably, not knowing what else to say, she moved to the door. "Well, if your ribs are the only thing that's sore, I think we've done as much as we can for now. Just try and rest, and avoid speaking until you've recovered a bit."

Re: Tamrielic Adventures: Vol. 2
Psyfalia gave Niralie a small nod to confirm that it would be possible to relieve some of her symptoms with potions and healing spells. She assumed that her friend had taken a sip of the potion to help her shoulder. She knew that her mind would be lost to thoughts about the drug when the worst of the withdrawal hit her and hoped that she would be able to keep herself distracted during that period.
Whilst she did know a few potions that were aimed to help addicts deal with skooma withdrawal, she was in no position to tell her fellow altmer the receipe and how to make them. "If i get through this, i'll teach you some potions and spells if you're interested in pursuing a career in the healing arts." She told Niralie before letting out a long gasp after the pain in her chest flared up. You fool, just shut up and remain quiet or have you forgotten that you're a healer?

On Deck
"A skooma what?" Raylis' voice sounded. He had been eavesdropping, evidently, and now he turned towards the growing group of people, with a frown deep enough to match Llevana's. "Just great," he said, pressing the tips of his fingers against his temples. "Is someone down there with her?"
Llevana herself sighed deeply and threw her hands up. "Just great. Just what we all need. Whatever, sort your own stuff out. I don't care who beats up who and why as long as you don't drag me or my friends into it. I'm not resonsible for anyone anymore." With that, she turned around and left, back to scowling over the board of the deck, watching Vivec city pass by her.

"Thank you." Niralie nodded, pausing before exiting through the door. She frowned at the pained noise Psyfalia was making. "Just... rest now, okay?"
She left the cabin and began to head back to the deck. As she emerged once again into the morning, she spotted Valentia, Arellius, Llevana, and Raylis talking nearby. A chill ran down her spine as she pictured the Imperial causing that sort of damage to Psyfalia and just walking calmly away. She made her way toward the small group, pausing a short distance away to watch the conversation and wait for her chance to confront him.

"I completely agree!" Valentia told Llevana before she walked away. "I didn't ask to be acquainted with a junkie. Ugh. The sooner I get off this boat, the better." she mumbled, looking up at Arellius. "So, ah... feel like shirking our duties and going somewhere where we won't have to hear Psyfalia? Perhaps start on that sword practice you talked about?"

Arellius Afer III - Above Deck
Arellius gave a bemused shake of his head as the Dunmer trod off; considering her words no further as she faded into immediate irrelevance.
Raylis' inquiry was met with much less enthusiasm: there was no fun to be gotten in winding up their regularly irritable leader. "No idea." The Imperial shrugged. "I'd think there'd be'a few: Sethesi and that other Breton 'r'down there at least, an' Nir -" he stopped as Niralie herself drew near. "Y'know wha'?" he nodded in her direction. "Ye'd be better off just askin' th'Elf yerself."
It was as he closed that the Valentia chirped in about the lessons he'd promised. One hand reached up to almost subconsciously rub his shoulder, though he caught the movement mid-way and clenched the open palm into a fist instead. It wasn't that bad anyway, he could still move it ... sort of. "Bett'r than dealin' wi'this [&@%!]". He gave a slight nod. "I can show ye'some basic technique."

"Basic is fine." Valentia replied, nodding. "Ugh, this is going to be the longest boat ride I've ever been on. I'm sleeping in the room where you and the others are, by the way. Once again, to get away from the junkie. Anyway, where shall we go?"

"They're saying there was a ruckus downstairs," Raylis said to the Altmer. "That Psyfalia was aggressive as a result of a drug addiction and provoked Arellius into attacking her."

Arellius shrugged. "Bow works, I guess; 'r at least it doesn't look as pack'd as th'rest'o'tha' ship."
He gave a last passing glance to Raylis before beginning to move away. "Yer also right t'stay 'way from th'Elf," he added as they walked; "Seen people go through withdrawal before: noh'pretty; really noh'pretty." He gave a slightly disgruntled shake of his head. "Yer all gonna be in my room before th'end o'tha'week is my guess."

Niralie frowned. "I don't know what started it," she admitted. "Psyfalia did tell me that she's going to be going through skooma withdrawal, so we all have that to look forward to, but I don't think that caused the situation belowdeck. I saw Psyfalia minutes before, and she was calm and seemed normal, so I would assume that Arellius provoked her first somehow. According to Sethesi and Katien, who witnessed it, Psyfalia cut the supports holding Arellius' hammock... and he retaliated by attacking her." Her voice shook a bit as she remembered seeing the older elf laying there. "When I got to her, she was unconscious and barely breathing. She'll survive - she has several broken ribs - but it will take her a while to recover."

Valentia nodded as they walked to the bow. "I've seen it as well. It is not something I enjoy being around."
Looking behind her as they walked to check to see if anyone was watching, Valentia continued to speak. "As for the room filling up, I'm going to hope for the 'first come, first serve' rule to be in effect. I'm going to take advantage of it while I can."

"It isss for the-hic!-good," Sees-In-Shade spoke up nearby, clearly having been listening in on the discussions with Raylis. He kept his eyes on the potatoes and continued working. Arellius Afer III - Above Deck
Arellius raised as eyebrow at the girls casual revelation; she didn't seem one to hang around skooma-junkies. He didn't consider it further however, citing it a small, meaningless irregularity, as they stepped up onto the ships bow. As the girl stepped up behind him the Imperial withdrew the ebony shortsword from his right side with his left hand, before holding it out for her to take.
"We're gonna try some stances first, a'right?"

Now that the ship was finally moving, Per sat down out of the way for a rest. The wooden planks croaked meekly underneath the big man. His body still ached something furiously from spending the night on the deck, thus he repeatedly shifted his shoulders trying to relieve the tension. Grumbling quietly, the Nord looked through his tattered knapsack. Aside from what he had on his person, his inventory consisted of a pouch with about a hundred Septims, a brown-stained apple, and one measly bottle of Nordic Mead. While chomping down on the apple for breakfast, Per cursed himself for not having brought any Dunmeri liquor on board while he'd the chance. This'll be an Oblivion-damned long trip, he mused, glancing lazily at the doings of the rest of the crew.

Valentia took the blade from Arellius, surprised by its weight when she held it on her own. "Oh my, this blade is lovely." She observed, moving it about slowly to get a feel for it. "A tad heavy though. Ebony is rare outside Morrowind, is it not?"

On deck.
Sinyail finished up on deck, and wandered down stairs to see Psyfalia, deciding at least one person should at least not completely abandon her. First, he strode to his hammock, and waved his hand over his pillows and blanket, which promptly miniaturised into pocket able versions as he spoke to no one in particular. "Ah, good to see the enchantment still works, haven't needed to try it in decades..."
Upon arrival into the next cabin, he assessed her condition by sight, and while it was obvious she was in a bad way, time would heal her. He spoke to Psyfalia. "Hmm. Well, you wont die at least, something to be pleased with no? Well, someone needs to be around to look after you, and well everyone else will already decide to skip room, so I'm the only one left."
He turns towards Vivec, and begins setting up a spell, and speaks in a warm tone.
"Of course, if I can contact Mavon like I was planning to originally, I might be able to sort a bit of help out, so it may not be all bad. Depending on how far we travel of course..."
His voice trailed off, into a worried tone.

Arellius Afer III - Above Deck
Arellius gave a small shrug at the girls remarks; he'd never really considered the history behind his blade before.
"I've never'eard o'ebony bein' mined outside'a Vvardenfall b'fore anyway." As he spoke he awkwardly began to withdraw the steel tanto from his left side with his left hand. "But I go'that blade up near Bruma; owner was t'death mauled by'a troll. Few years back." It came out casual as anything as the Imperial began to flex his left wrist, getting a feel for the tanto in his 'wrong' hand.

Re: Tamrielic Adventures: Vol. 2
Psyfalia closed her eyes as Niralie left the room and was left with the pain in her chest. She knew that she would have no choice but to endure the withdrawal and knew that it was inevitable that she would turn into a right mess if she couldn't keep her mind focused on something. She felt a bit more queasy as the ship slowly departed Vivec's port and silently begged the nine to let them have a smooth journey.
"Don't blame them." She said to Sinyail. "Many addicts find themselves without anyone to stand by their side during the worst of the withdrawal and i am not surprised that the same has happened to me." She told him before letting out another gasp as the pain in her chest flared up as a result of her talking.

Valentia observed Arellius with the tanto; it'd do her some good to take notice of someone who was much more familiar with the blade than herself, even if he was only going through basic non-lethal motions. "You're left handed?" she asked. She wondered if that would cause a problem, her being right handed.

Re: Tamrielic Adventures: Vol. 2
New-elven hammock room.
Sinyail turned to face her, speaking as he did, in a concerned tone. "Easy, keep resting." Before returning to his magics. "You never know, with our race's natural strength against illness it might be easier than you anticipate."

Arellius Afer III - Above Deck
Arellius didn't see the point in making excuses; no shame in the truth, he decided.
"Uh, no: no'really, though I use bo'blades in combat." He glanced to his shoulder. "Th'Elf bust'd up me should'r bad durin' tha'ruckus: can't move't, or a'least I can't move't wi'out tearin' meself up." He made an attempt to demonstrate with a shrug of his shoulder, managing to barely lift it before retreating with a grimace. "Doesn't matter tha'much anyhow, does't? I'm not gonna try figh'ye or anythin' until I've taugh'ye the basics: ye'll be fine fer now."
