What's the point of making a topic if you don't even have anything to contribute to it? There is absolutely no reason to make topics telling other people to discuss something if you don't even open with your own opinion or question. And yes, this should be in General.
I'd lock this, but since Lars has already responded with actual content, I'll keep it up.

I think it should be set in Valenwood and Eleswyr or The Black Marsh.
They should include an online feature such as Arena fights where you choose a premade character instead of your 100% chameleon character.
The arena should have 1v1, 2v2, 3v3 and 4v4 that would be sweet
Some other stuff they should include:
Dual Wield,
Necromancy,
Fist Weapons,
Unarmored (Dunno why its not in Oblivion)
That would be sweet

Well, if you look at the gap between TES:II and TES:III it could be a decade.LarsBM wrote:Oh, I see. So we're talking several years then.
But if this is a wishlist thread, I would really like a more detailed economy. e.g. buy some tomatoes from Bravil for 2 gold each, transport them up to Bruma and sell them for 5 gold each, depending on supply and demand. A sort of merchants guild would work well with this. More non-violent content like this would be nice. (Not that I don't like taking a sword to a bad guy, it's just options are nice too.)
Also, transport like Morrowind but expanded more, and more then 13 voice actors would be nice.
Removed due to size.

I hated the voice acting in Oblivion, I would love if they axed that all together and just gave us lots and lots of lore-loaded text. Text filesize < audio filesize, so it would open up a lot of space for anythign else they want to include in the game as well. Also, they need to bring back seperate pauldrons, guantlets, and all that nice stuff that was in Morrowind. And I've always felt that stealth was never done right. Real assasinations would be A+, I don't know how many times I've wished I could sneak up on someone with a small shortblade and just slit their throat a la GTASA. And location damage would be pretty cool too.
If you're on PC, there's a few mods out there that adds locational damage, also another one that lets you slit throats, decipicate, wrist cut, shield slam, mounted combat, elemental effects..that mod is called Deadly Reflex.jedimario wrote:I hated the voice acting in Oblivion, I would love if they axed that all together and just gave us lots and lots of lore-loaded text. Note: They both require OBSE, which can be found here.

However,
As a main plot, I still like the idea of the Khajiit and Argonians uniting and invading south Cyrodiil. I have always thought the cats and lizards were a bit overlooked, and since the other races are sort of based on more familiar cultures, you could really get stuck in imagination-wise making up things about what their countries and customs are.
I'd like to see the plot able to change more profoundly based on your characters actions. Maybe you won/lost a significant fight and because of that, something has happened to the plot. Losing such a fight at a plot crossroads won't kill you, instead you might be unconcious and left for dead, or even captured and your equipment looted.
The ai will improve enough for you to have followers which can do more. Set guards to patrol outside your fort, send people away to give messages and do deeds, etc. We can do these to a limited extent already.
Horses in Oblivion look like a work in progress. Being able to fight from horseback will be great. You could introduce a riding skill and there could be jousting and so on. Dare I say it - dragons? having a flying dragon mount? Maybe not next game, but I don't see them resisting the temptation forever. Depends on how they want flying and levitation to be used in the next game.
But I think we're talking about the next generation of consoles. They probably won't write another game for the 360 and current pcs. It's likely the next Elder Scrolls game will be an MMORPG so a lot of the detail we enjoy in MW and OB could be lost.
I would like magic to be rarer / harder to do but more powerful. There are still some effects I still don't see the point of despite making characters specifically to try them out. But admittedly that could be my playing style. Anyone out there use telekinesis much in Oblivion? (it was brilliant in MW) or drain stat? It would be nice to see real effects of the more subtle magic - maybe if you drain personality on the Mayor during his big speech and he looks uglier and people start to heckle him? Or damage someone's agility enough and they trip over their own feet or drop their swords.

Thanks for the links. My list:
Dual-Wield. With a working off-hand.
Spears.
Throwing weapons.
Crossbows.
More mounts to pick between.
Movable furniture(like Imperial Furniture mod)
You choose your destiny, and your choices affects the game/ending.
More weapon styles.
More unique looking weapons.
I'll post more later.

Stuff to add to my list:
Claws for Khajiit/Argonian.
Bigger battles.
More classes.
Everything that Vargon said.
Talents(like WoW and various others).
Diffrent spells for diffrent class, e.g Restoration spells for 'Healer', mixed for sorceror and mage, etc.
More factions, like those from Daggerfall.
More artifacts.
Actually get a reward, and not a punishment when you have beat the game.
That you can go the provinces, or atleast some of them.
More will come..

I'd like to see...
-Spears/Throwing weapons
-More Spell Animations
-More Types of Spell, i.e. Dark Magic etc.
-Larger Cities/More Towns
-Larger Variety of Armor/Weapons
-More Pieces of Armor, i.e. Pauldrons
-Be able to Ugrade Armor and Weapons, i.e. If I don't like how Daedric Armor looks but I'm level 30, I should be able to wear equally strong Steel Armor.

So understand
Don't waste your time always searching for those wasted years
Face up...make your stand
And realize you're living in the golden years

I would love it if Bethesda did a Black Marsh theme for ESV. I haven't heard any rumors or hints about V. With them finishing up Fallout 3, they will still have to make expansions for it too I presume. So it could be a while. There is one thing I love and hate about Bethesda... they don't get in a hurry. They take their time and make a good game, but that can be torturous for those of who can't get enough of TES.
I would also love to see dual-wielding weapons, horseback fighting, and a world where you have to keep yourself well rested and fed. It would add a touch of reality to a fantasy game. Haha

Yes, that would be a good setting. This way you could play the game as either faction in the war, making two main quests available when you play (but only one choice per character of course, depending on your race maybe?)Mattbott wrote:However,

No. NO!Mattbott wrote:It's likely the next Elder Scrolls game will be an MMORPG so a lot of the detail we enjoy in MW and OB could be lost.
If the vikings didnt do it, it aint worth doing!
If that happens i'm gonna create a Dark Brotherhood and kill the deveplopers who were responsible for the idea.LarsBM wrote:No. NO!Mattbott wrote:It's likely the next Elder Scrolls game will be an MMORPG so a lot of the detail we enjoy in MW and OB could be lost.
But anyway:
We need a new Morrowind with Daggerfall factions but with improved OB graphics.
Of course with alot of new quests, items, npc's, cities/towns, farms, etc. etc.
