Re: Lore Trivia!
Scorned I was by infidelity / a marriage of woman and horkerbeast / though jaded in life and misunderstood / I forgive the fragility of men in cursed form / and lead them along gold coasts / back into the arms of their wives / the anvils of true mens' love.
Monsters are bred in labyrinths, labyrinths are bred from walls. There is a reason the Giants choose to remain nomadic rather than follow their shield kin the Nords in building permanent settlements. The Tower is the beginning of all walls.

Re: Lore Trivia!
The references to marriage, anvil, and the gold coast make me think it involves the Siren's Deception quest in Oblivion. I think the only person who was "scorned by infidelity" in that quest was Maelona.

Re: Lore Trivia!
It's the Lamia. The statue in Anvil. From Oblivion's official strategy guide:
A beautiful statue of Selkie of West Skerry landmarks the Guildgate district. The legend says that a sailor lover of the seal-maid, stole her skin, hoping for the seal-maid never leaving him back to the sea. However the sailor's wife knew this adultery, and secretly cut the skin in half and put it so that Selkie could find it. When Selkie donned the skin, she found that she neither seal nor maid, but half-seal and half-maid. Ashamed, she fled the land, but the legend has it that she guides lost mariners through the dense fogs of the Gold Coast.
Fiore's turn. Good guess though, metal man.

Re: Lore Trivia!
The following is a recipe that comes from Transmutation Alliteration: A Breton Witch's Guide by Verse. What potion will our witch craft by this rhyme?
Charter a wagon,
To the tail of the dragon,
Or else to hills of briar,
And if you're not yet dead,
Between weed colored gold and red,
You'll find the right colors for your design!
Though the Nords'll think you weak,
A fleet dam you must seek,
Billies need not apply,
For her endowment you'll need,
With the flowers above to proceed,
to concoct a potion quite divine!

Maybe a hint is in order? The first ingredients are black and white poppies. The second ingredient is goat's milk.

Re: Lore Trivia!
Since it's been over nine months, I'll take a whack at this:
For the sake of spirit and of sport,
Two pieces of rocky flesh cavort.
In this place the young are taught,
Then traded elsewhere, and enemies fought.

Re: Lore Trivia!
Um I think it's the arena. Fighting in the arena could be seen as a sport and spirit because people love watching it and cheer on their chosen gladiator. Trained combatants would probably have rocky skin from all the years of training. Young competitors are taught in the arena before fighting. The last one I'm not sure what it means. Was I right?Minor Edits wrote:Since it's been over nine months, I'll take a whack at this:

Not a bad guess, but I'm afraid not.
What else in the Elder Scrolls universe is "rocky flesh"?

Re: Lore Trivia!
This is a really good question. I honestly cannot think of the answer. My best guess was wrong, but I feel like it might have something to do with Skyrim. Skyrim's surface could be considered rocky flesh, but the rest wouldn't make sense with that. So I don't know. I can't wait till someone figures it out!Minor Edits wrote:Not a bad guess, but I'm afraid not.

Re: Lore Trivia!
Nothing to do with Skyrim actually. The answer is mentioned in Morrowind and Oblivion material, and I think it's touched upon again once or twice by ESO.
The last line contains a big hint.

Re: Lore Trivia!
The Hall of the Virtues of War?
Long has the Stormcrown languished, with no worthy brow to sit upon.
By our breath we bestow it now to you in the name of Kyne, in the name of Shor, and in the name of Atmora of old.
You are Ysmir now, the Dragon of the North, hearken to it.

Re: Lore Trivia!
To recap, it's a place, look to the last line for a hint on narrowing it down. The answer was mentioned in Morrowing and Oblivion material, and I think it's mentioned, at least, in ESO material.Minor Edits wrote:Since it's been over nine months, I'll take a whack at this:

Sorry, zero, that's not it.
