Thing is, it really did improve the combat, and it hung onto the good old acrobatic fun and puzzles. Plus it has a reasonably enjoyable storyline here and there. Anyways, this is what I'm playing at the moment.

Re: What are you playing at the moment?
At the moment, I'm replaying the PoP trilogy on the PS2. I'm at Warrior Within right now. They really seemed to miss the point on this one; the whole atmosphere of the game feels wrong a lot of the time, with silly electric-guitar music that doesn't fit with the game and that refuses to stop playing, the weird Prince who's all dark'n'stuff, losing out on all the old ''Oud'' music and Iranian singers, and other stuff. Also, you can tell they took a whole lot of inspiration from DMC, even having similar sound effects in the menus and similar cut away screens upon obtaining an ability, even the loading and death screens seem to be taken right from DMC.
Thing is, it really did improve the combat, and it hung onto the good old acrobatic fun and puzzles. Plus it has a reasonably enjoyable storyline here and there. Anyways, this is what I'm playing at the moment.

Re: What are you playing at the moment?
I'm playing through the Fallout Series. 1, 2, Tactics (sort of canon), Brotherhood of Steel (non-canon), 3 and New Vegas. On Fallout 2 at the moment, just found the GECK. This is the first time I've played Fallout 2 and it's really good so far. It starts out first off worse than Fallout 1 because the Temple of Trials is an awful tutorial but also harder because you don't really have anything when you leave Arroyo. It is annoying as I tagged Small Guns and took Good Natured and I had to fight foes with nothing but my fists. The first few hours were hard and it was a happy day when I found a 10mm Pistol. I was really struggling to survive at first even after I found a gun, reminded me of when I first played Fallout 3. Have much better equipment now though. The music that plays when you drive your car is sweet, I'll put it in a hide tag below. Have a full party of Sulik, Vic, Cassidy, Marcus and Goris and using the Bozar which is awesome. Hopefully one day I'll get some power armour to go with it. But yeah, loving it so far.

I'm really surprised that you of all people wouldn't have played Fallout 2 before, Kerr. I assumed you'd played it before New Vegas.

Re: What are you playing at the moment?
I've revealed my hidden shame. I got the Fallout collection with 1, 2 and Tactics after I played Fallout 3 and the Fallout 2 on it didn't work. I bought the series off GOG a while back so now I have a Fallout 2 that actually works. Then a couple of weeks after I bought them they were given away for free.
I have a pretty strong feeling that Brotherhood of Steel is going to suck. I've played Tactics before and it's just meh. Although at least after I play Brotherhood of Steel I'll get to play Fallout 3.

Sniper Elite V2. We got this game for free a few days ago, and up till now I'm enjoying it. I'm still pretty crap at the sniping itself, but I like to think I'm improving.

Skies of Arcadia and a bit of Viking:Battle for Asgard, I really need to 100% Fable 3 still but that game is just so blah compared to Fable 1/2...

Re: What are you playing at the moment?
Still playing Dragon Age. Just killed Uldred and am about to save Connor without killing him or resorting to blood magic. Am level 10 and will do the urn of sacred ashes but will do the chantry side quests from redcliffe. I will get Shale and hopefully, i'm strong enough to take on the damn darkspawn at it's village. Last time i tried with my previous characters, i got my arse kicked but that was mainly due to me trying to do it at level 5. Unsure if i should do Warden's Keep afterwards or do that after curing Eamon. I'm almost 20 hours in and haven't even gotten to teh halfway point yet.

Re: What are you playing at the moment?
I just started the last chapter of Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel. It's an awful, awful game. Gameplay is terrible, it looks ugly, really linear, no way to not be an [&@%!] in dialogue, story is terrible, music is bad and out of place, it defiles lore (remember Rhombus, oh yeah he's white now, and did you know ghoul body parts come on and off like lego and that they're hurt radiation?) and the attempts at humour are dreadful. [&@%!] jokes, jokes about people's testicles falling off, a prostitute naming her cat "Mr [&@%!]" the interface thinking it is hip by calling enemies [&@%!] and [&@%!], none of it has been funny. You can make funny crude jokes, but this game doesn't, instead the humour is obnoxious and cringe worthy. I'm honestly surprised that it hasn't had a fart joke yet, then again I still haven't finished it. It is also really sexist and racist, as in the game is sexist and racist not just those things exist in the universe. The outfit the leader of the raiders uses in the first chapter and then the promotional artwork for the female characters, ugh. Hell the lowest difficulty is called pansy. I despise this game. The only thing I don't hate is the main menu music and the Vault Boys look pretty nice, even if almost all of them are just reused art assets from better games.
Good thing it's non-canon.

I'm addicted to Tomodachi Life right now. It's beautiful and I love it. After all, there's noplace else I can have Bigby Wolf rap about how he's the sheriff and is going to arrest literally everyone just because he can. Did I mention he's doing all of this as a child? Because he asked me to turn him into a kid with some Kid-o-matic spray because he wanted life to be carefree again. He's the child sheriff of my island and he's going to [&@%!] you up if you [&@%!] with him. He'll also [&@%!] you up if you [&@%!] with his friends Tyler, the Creator or Jesse Pinkman. You shouldn't doubt in his abilities to [&@%!] you up, because I presented him with a punching bag with which to practice his [&@%!]-up. His only weakness appears to be fish patties, as he hated them so much that he literally melted the last time I fed them to him.
Seriously though, it's a really fun, cute little game and you should all buy it right now and play it.

Re: What are you playing at the moment?
I'm doing a playthrough for all of the main Fallout games. I already bought and completed 1 and 2 recently, and now I've moved on to Fallout 3. Then eventually I'll shift into New Vegas when the other one is done.
I must have got the idea from Kerr. Though I chose not to play through the ones that weren't part of the main series/main genre. This is pretty much what got me posting in the Fallout discussion topic again.

Re: What are you playing at the moment?
I took a break from Fallout and decided to give this new mod my brother got for CK 2. It's the GoT mod. Well, the mod makes big improvements to the original game, in addition to the cool stuff it adds in.
But anyways, it's all meaningless because now I keep encountering the same damned problem with every game I try. I start up with my dynasty (been playing as pirate kings and queens) during whichever time period, and play with them for a while. I go through about 4 or 5 characters, usually about 180 or 200 years. And then, just as my large empire is starting to form up, the stupid thing starts crashing. The same thing has happened in about 3 different games in different locations. I get on the computer one day, load my game, game loads fine, then I unpause time and everything starts shuffling along, but after 5 or 6 seconds it just stops, gives me ''Crusader Kings 2 has stopped working'' message and exits to the desktop.
And it just keeps happening. I load the game, it goes for 5 seconds, it crashes. I look up the problem on the internet, but I can't find any cases that match my own; people say their games crash on start-up, or during load/at the end of load, or when they make a certain choice. With me, the game actually goes for a little while before it stops, so I don't know what's up with it.
Eugh....

I picked up South Park:The Stick of Truth on Friday and it is the [&@%!] [&@%!]! This is the best game based on a show that i've ever played! It looks, sounds and is South Park! It's pretty much another South Park film only in a game format so if you are a fan, get it! I'm taking a small break from DAO as i'm starting to burn out from it.

Re: What are you playing at the moment?
I might play Stick of Truth eventually because Obsidian made it. However I'm not a South Park fan, that said I don't dislike it and I have seen a few episodes.
I finished Fallout: New Vegas and now it looks like my PS3 is about to give up the ghost so I'll have to get a new one before I play the Dragon Age games. Fun. If only the PS4 could play PS3 games, then I wouldn't have to get both. Still interesting how when I got a PS3, biggest hard drive you could get was for a monolith of a console and only had 80GB, now you can get one much smaller, for less than half the price and with 500GB.
Anyway seeing as I won't be playing Dragon Age for a while I've started playing Planescape: Torment which I've never played before. I got it on sale a while back on GOG along with a tonne of other D&D games. Not that far into the game, just had Annah join my party but I'm really liking it so far. Going for INT, WIS, CHA, not putting points into anything else. I'm glad making your character is Point Buy, I hated rolling my character in Baldur's Gate. I won't lie, in BG2 I just used CTRL 8. Planescape still has you roll for how much HP party members get when they level up though which I don't like.

The Remastered Edition of The Last of Us.... it's awesome.
I've not played the single player DLC yet because I want to get thru at least one playthrough, even though I've played it all before and remember everything about the story.

I was about to say the same thing, beat me to it. It's a fantastic card game that's really easy to get sucked into. The only thing I don't like about it is that starting off is tough when you don't have solid advanced level cards yet, and your opponents have spent a lot more time in the game, henceforth having higher level cards.Fiar wrote:Hearthstone
