Valentia shrugged, lacking much knowledge on boats and nautical navigation. "Not from there specifically... Your arms will get tired, anyway. You have to get down eventually."

Per's laugh had worn off, and he was coming to his senses. He looked teasingly at Valentia. "Eh, don't crush the fella's dreams. He can be the lookout."

Valentia huffed, making a strand of hair blow out her face and then gently lower back to the same place. "Then maybe we should tie him there with a rope?"

"Good plan," Llevana remarked, looking up at Sees-in-Shade embracing the mast of the ship. "Except; who's going to climb up there to tie him up?"

Valentia looked to Llevana with a look of surprise. "Are we actually considering this?" she asked. "Because, I mean, I'm pretty good at tying knots, someone could give me a boost."
She always had trouble telling if people were joking or not and hoped that she hadn't embarrassed herself yet again. Valentia hated when that happened.

Valentia huffed again, grumbling under her breath. "I'm a woman, thank you very much." she said, putting emphasis on the word woman. True, she was only eighteen years of age, but she didn't like being called 'little' anything, particularly 'little boy'.
"Now are you getting down, or not?"

"Okay, thank you." Niralie noted how worn down Raylis looked. "Oh... and thanks for that, too," she added, bowing her head slightly. "Some of us probably would have died yesterday if it hadn't been for you, back in Suran."
The others' voices drew her attention away for a few moments. She watched the antics of the Argonian on the mast, wondering briefly what was going on, but figured that there were enough of the others there to deal with the situation, whatever it was.
She looked back at Raylis. "Well, I suppose we won't get moving until we start working. Is there anything I can help with?"

Sinyail, resisting the urge to perform the ancient art of pressing one's hand to one's face to describe the situation when words fail to describe just how dumb something is, decided to try to change the subject. "a wise man once said that when you are in a hole, you stop digging. Well, right now, we have our own little mining operation... I suggest we start making this hulk of wood actually move, and start again."

Sinyail glances around, wondering if the Argonian still didn't get the difference between men and women and meant him, or was actually talking about the lady next to Raylis. Either way, it was easily solved.
He walked over to Niralie, and stood beside her. "Argonian - for future reference, this lady is an example of a young Altmeri woman, and I'm... vaguely representative of an average younger side of middle-aged Altmeri man. Point is, do you see the major physical differences? Then good, glad we've settled it."

As Sees-In-Shade dropped down to the deck, he was taken aback. Scrutinizing the Altmer more closely, the biggest the difference he could notice was their hair. "Yesss, I sssee," he nervously lied. "Sssorry. From the bird'sss eye, you all look the sssame. Well... where can I help?"

Arellius Afer III - Below Deck
Arellius towered over the downed-Elf, adrenaline coursing through his veins; his fingers fidgeted by his blade. It took him a moment to realise that she was not moving; that was mildly worrying: he'd only ever wanted to scare her; inflicting pain might have played on his mind a bit, but scaring her had been the ultimate priority. If she was dead then there would be trouble with Raylis for sure, and he didn't want that. But ... he had a show to continue: this was as much about sending a message to the others on the ship as warning the Elf, and so he maintained a stern edge to his manner as he mockingly shock his head.
"It mi'be tha'best idea t'stay down," he growled menacingly, turning away.
The Imperial didn't comment again as he strode out of the room and began to make his towards top deck: he was hyped up enough now that he doubted sleep would find him even if he wanted it.

Raylis and Llevana both turned as Arellius' heavy step sounded on the boards of the deck. They said nothing, and faced away from the glum figure; if he wanted something he'd come for it.

Niralie followed their gaze, glancing toward Arellius as well. He looked a bit on edge, she thought, but she didn't know why, and wasn't interested enough to pay it any more heed. She turned back to Raylis, waiting for his response.

Arellius Afer III - Below Deck -> Above Deck
It was as the Imperial strode off, adrenaline levels declining, that he became acutely aware of how bad an idea the shoulder-barge had really been: pain seared up Arellius' shoulder, the one he had damaged in the fall; and the one he'd stupidly, and he could admit that to himself, had decided to hit the Elf with. If it hadn't been broken from the fall then it was certainly broken now: an attempt to shrug his shoulder all but confirmed that.
The pain he was in wasn't obvious however as he stepped up top-deck; he made sure to give no outward sign of it. He stopped, analysing the scene, on reaching his destination.

Avoiding eye contact, Per nervously glanced up from the back-busting work as Arellius stepped on deck. He might have been a bit too brazen with his gloating yesterday, and he guessed the Imperial was exactly the kind of man who would hold grudges.

"Okay, I will, then," Niralie replied, nodding. "Thank you."
She approached the Argonian. She was a bit unsure what to think of him, but Raylis at least seemed to trust him. "Good morning," she greeted him. "Raylis said that you would be able to tell me what I can do to help out. I won't be able to do anything strenuous, mind; I have a healing injury."

"Potatoes," said the Argonian nonchalantly, pointing at Valentia. "With her." Then he turned back to the men on the deck and shouted "Right, let's get to hoisting that sail. Each of you grab one of those ropes."

"Right..." Valentia muttered, looking to Niralie with a sullen look. She really just wanted a nice and simple trip. "At least it's someone I know."

Niralie shrugged slightly, inwardly somewhat disappointed, but she didn't refuse the job either. It wasn't her favorite of tasks, but she'd rather do that than work with the sail or be accused of slacking off while others did all the work. "Well, someone has to do it," she pointed out to Valentia. "And we might as well get to it, then. Shall we?" She began to make her way back belowdeck to look for the galley.

Sees-In-Shade, who had been distracted by the many strangers on the deck, flinched at his fellow Argonian's shout. He studied the ropes a moment, not entire sure how the network was supposed to function. Muttering a prayer in Jel, he stepped forward and got to work.

Re: Tamrielic Adventures: Vol. 2

After some missteps, the combined efforts of Per, Aenar, Sees-in-Shade, (somewhat begrudgingly) Maurzol, and Llevana, the sail was hoisted, and the ship began to move slowly. The deaf and senile captain was happily manhandling the steering wheel, something he was seemingly still able to do. Llevana retired from the ropes and put her hands on the brow of the deck, looking at the amber City slowly passing by her.
Below Deck.
"[&@%!]!" The yell was audible throughout the entire hull. It had come from Sethesi, who had just fully realised what had transpired. She looked at Katien, panic in her eyes.
"What do we do?!"
