Duplication with mannequins

I have been able to get armor duplicated from the mannequin in the cellar in one of the hearthfire homes. Not sure how I did it but every time I removed armor a duplicate would replace in when I returned. I just ignored it but now I want to outfit all my potential followers with a uniform and have the blades armor in mind. I can't get it to work. I have looked at the youtube videos and other place and all the info is out of date. Can this still be done? What is the exact current procedure. I am on xbox with updates thru 1.9 I have also tried the dropping on the ground and having your follower pick up items then leaving and re-entering the area and can't seem to make that work either. thx

It only on the first item you place there as far as I know so you cant change it once this happens and it only happens radomly it also happens to the ones in the armory but not all the time. its a random bug that does not always happen.

I have had it happen on a item that wasn't placed first. And I believe it works mostly on dragon priests masks and unique enchanted gear such as arch mage robes. I usually don't like using exploits but once I put on a dragon priest mask and arch mage robes and they duped so I ran in and out of my house for like an hour to stock up so I could use them to sell. Specifically the robes for mage merchants. But like dude said, I believe its mostly random. Though I wish I knew a sure fire way to get it to stop. I have one mannequin that always has a forsworn helmet on and I love it on females but I just find it ugly on males.

Me to but what can you do with more than one, but sell it? Maybe put it on your follower.

yeah i Just wanted all my followers, stewards, and housecarls to have a uniform. I moved ulfric's uniform from a house in the pale to my house in windhelm and the mannequin in the pale just duplicated it. I don't know what I did. it must take some time for the mannequin to do it.

if you wanna cheat, i'd suggest you just use the console - it seems like a waste of time to try to make a rare glitch happen
