FOT: It's amazing how many words those two can get in, while people are being thrown around and having the [&@%!] beaten out of them. Heh.

Poke: Will do! God, everyone is going to be obliterated by my pokemon. Ain't no Salamence, ain't no Wailord or Blissey or Victini. 1000 times better and stronger than any living pokemon. Which is it? Y'all'll just have to wait and see. Mwahahahahaaaa.

Pokémon:I'm happy to wait for Velvet. :) Kalia, Terry and erm.... [&@%!], i've forgotten Alarra's character's name, are together and it wouldn't make sense for any of us to go ahead without the other.

WOD:I'm assuming Justice is busy with life again or Shadow has him in his dungeon again.

That being said once you start reading it I wouldn't mind your opinion on the book. There's a pretty strong camp out there that believe that this isn't so much a fantasy story as it was a story about a man going insane. While there's strong support for that argument I think that there were some good hints in the book that wasn't the case and personally I don't think that the narrative structure supported it either. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the read as well as the remainder of your trip.
Well, I've finished the book (actually I finished it yesterday morning but the site was down, and I was busy for most of today) and it was a good one! I can definitely see why you got inspired to do a RP based on the idea. Tyson actually having living family may have screwed up the idea of him having to go through the same thing as Richard, but all the same, I'm glad that you've decided that he won't have to. That would be a living nightmare for anybody. Of course, I won't exhale deeply yet, because I'm sure you've still got quite the little adventure planned out.
Spoiler:
As for the overall theme of the book, I can't see how one could conclusively say that it was about Richard going insane. Of course, I did notice the things that would support that theory (to not notice them, I'd have to not be reading the book), but given all the contradictory evidence (including, as you said, the narrative structure), it would just be unnecessary to try and make that theory work, and it's much easier to do what Richard did: just take things at face value. My edition had a Q&A with Gaiman after the end, and nothing he said about his themes or inspiration hinted anything towards that idea.

Not to mention, given the ending, it's much nicer to imagine him leaving a boring life for an engaging fantasy world than abandoning actual reality to give into insanity.
Either way, loved the book, and I'm looking forward to the RP beginning!
Start the groove.

Cog and Gear: I feel pretty bad saying this again, but i'm really sorry for anyone who was enjoying my RP before I made a sudden dissapearance...again. It seems my ability to DM story driven RPs is pretty bad and I may leave that window shut.

I have to admit one of the things that gets me down about Gaiman is his emphatic refusal to do book series. As much as I enjoy his books I also find myself wanting to see more of his characters once the story is done. If you're looking for more reading though American Gods is similar to Neverwhere, though for the most part with a softer tone and with a world much better explained. I did borrow a couple ideas from American Gods but I wouldn't call this roleplay a mashup of the two simply because one or two aspects of Neverwhere Toronto seem like they would be in direct contradiction with the lore laid out by American Gods.

I've thought about it and I also really like the idea doing an American Gods roleplay but I have to admit as hard as I've tried I can't come up with a decent plot for it. Suppose it could simply be done as a free form but that's a roleplay idea for a different day. At the moment I have to drag myself to come up with NPC names. Character design is easy but for some reason I always get stuck on names. Anyway, NT should probably start once Mars posts his sheet or Velvet comes back, whichever happens first.

Lauda: Looking at Unionhack's character makes me wonder what it would be like to make a PC or NPC who speaks entirely in rhyme.

L: ^ I've always been one fond for those who speak in riddles over those in rhyme. I don't know why, could simply be the mystery and misdirection one may lead<_< tempting you with all the questions but never the answers that follow suite

Still, Kerr playing as a rhyming chap, this I must see

Luada: It's pretty fun! I wanted to make her cast her spells entirely in iambic pentameter but that'd be more trouble than it's worth. So any rhyming will do but I will go for iambic whenever I can, because Shakespeare and etc.

I would love to see Kerr do something to that effect. xD

L:Do it, Kerr! It'll be very interesting to see how everyone will interact with him/her. Looks like Kúter will have a chance to show the others what a real Dzarg warrior is made of. Or get his arse kicked.

SHY:Lord Music, i think we require a timeskip.

FOT:I've got nothing to post at the moment. I can't think of any questions and the only post that i ca post is a filler one. :-/

TA2:I hope i won't need a new character.

WoN:So what's happening with this?
