I have a question. Is the giant in Blackreach there for any reason?

@All Hail! Haha. I don't know. I ran into him though and was like what the hell?
Does anyone know where I can get unenchanted hooded black robes? I read you can only get one during a certain quest. Is this correct?

I have found them in wardrobes, on occasion same as childrens and other clothes. You might also try Solitude with the two elves Radiant Rainment i think they have some.Evol wrote:@All Hail! Haha. I don't know. I ran into him though and was like what the hell?

Re: Skyrim General Discussion
Yeah I don't have dawnguard yet.
I've looked in radiant rainment too. I once spent about a month and a half game time in and around solitude just to see if it would show up there and I have never seen any. I'm want a build that I'd call the voldemort of skyrim, a dual wielding master conjure/destro mage with some illusion and alteration. Maybe light armor too.

You can find the robes in Fellglow Keep.

He's there to kill Centurions. All hail! wrote:I have a question. Is the giant in Blackreach there for any reason?
The only time my main character has used a fear spell was against the first Centurion you find in Blackreach. There was no good reason for using the spell, other than having fun with the Master of the Mind perk. The Centurion ran off in the direction of the giant and was never seen again. I assume the giant killed it.
Correction: She has used a fear spell twice. I forgot about the time she was mean to a Boethiah cultist.

I hate it so much when necromancers and vampires resurrect dead NPC's! In fact when it happens I die a bit inside because I know there will be yet another ash pile.

Yeah I hate the ash piles but sometimes they do go away after a long time. At one time I had 8 of the ash piles built up around my house in Falkreath from killing Vamps who keep raising each other till there all dead.Travalanche wrote:I hate it so much when necromancers and vampires resurrect dead NPC's! Also (Evol) on the Black robes you could use the regular black robes without the hood till you go to fellglow keep.

Re: Skyrim General Discussion
I have just been in the Soul Cairn and went to the Reaper's Liar. There is a teleport station in the middle of the room with bars across that make it inaccessible. What is the point in it? Can you ever get access to it?

Re: Skyrim General Discussion
I have a thought on Dwemer metal which has been discussed before. It might be created with Moonestone and Corundum. If you go into Blackreach there is more Corundun than anything else to mine giving the dwemer large amounts of it, then figure elves use moonstone alot in there works and you have dwemer metal. This makes sense if combined similar to Iron and Corundum creating steel. Yes I have been in Blackreach for quite while. As far as I can tell the giant is the only living thing still in there besides me.

I got those but they release the big reaper guardian and his bonemen minions, nothing happens to the bars over the teleporter.rcbecker123 wrote:You must have the reaper gem stones there are three to collect.
I thought you maybe had to fuse the floating fragments together with lightning or fire but this didn't work. Maybe it's just there for show and does nothing.

Re: Skyrim General Discussion
So this might have been addressed already but I just thought about this on my walk home and discussion I had with my cousin about the placement of the stars and my ability to tell the time to within 30 mins at any given moment. Or to tell the day of the month (roughly) by the phase of the moon. Anyway, do the moons in skyrim go thru any kind of phases or are they always full? I don't think I've ever spent much time looking at the moons in skyrim enough to tell a difference.

Re: Skyrim General Discussion
Yes, both the moons go through separate phases. Sometimes they are both at the same phase and other times they are different.

Re: Skyrim General Discussion
That's cool. Do you know if they are a 28 day phase or some other tamrielic phase? I know it might not matter much but it could be something useful for a RP maybe. Plus I like knowing the little details.

Re: Skyrim General Discussion
I'm not sure about their cycles. It's a bit confusing, as it says that the smaller moon, Secunda, is actually orbiting the larger moon, Masser, and is therefore actually Masser's moon. However, this would mean that you would occasionally see the smaller moon 'infront' of the larger, but I have never seen this.
It's also odd that a moon is orbiting a moon in the first place. The gravity of Nirn would have surely pulled Secunda into it's own orbit, or Masser would have pulled it into itself. But I suppose we are on a mythical planet, so..
But I digress.

I haven't played in awhile, but when did Draugr Deathlords start spawning at level 2? I've been to six dungeons and it's happened everytime.

Just think if you did play on the high levels then what. There are some places with Deathlords no matter the lvl but it is rare.

Re: Skyrim General Discussion
Ok Im working on a typical Dungeon and Dragons old style Cleric Which is similar to a Viligant of Stendar. I have chosen Mara as my chosen goddess to serve. In keeping with her faith I did honor to marraige and have taken a warrior wife. I have created a temple with Maras shrine in my cellar as allowed in Hearthfire Exp. I have two daughters to pass on my lineage.
I see this character as a hunter of undead and healer of the sick. I wear traditional heavy armor with mixed light armor for travel.
1. First problem is theres no chainmail or Norman sytle platemail my choice in armors so I must decide what will work. Maybe Dawnguard and Imperial mixed. Any ideas?
2.Weapons, I will weild a mace and sheild or Two Handed Warhammer no bows or edged weapons.
3. No magic except Restoration, Enchanting maybe Alteration.
4. I will seek out shrines to Mara and pay homage and offer time in the temples as sevitude to Mara.
5. Similar to VoStendar The peolpe who support the evil Deadric lords would be considered enemies of good and I must offer to convert them to good before they are to be judged by the gods of good and be destroyed.
6. I see Meridia and Azura as allies even if deadric lords being they are not considerd evil by most and have similar themes on time and the undead.
If anyone has any ideas let me know.

The armor of the various city/hold guards are chainmail (or atleast in part). As to platemail, Steel Plate or Ebony would be my suggestion.rcbecker123 wrote:Ok Im working on a typical Dungeon and Dragons old style Cleric Which is similar to a Viligant of Stendar. Yeah steel plate may work thats a good idea then use an imperial helmet.
As I play I just realized how important Illusion may be to a cleric with the calm and pacify abilities.

Re: Skyrim General Discussion
Im working on a concept for a wizard of the type that I dont know what you would call him. Maybe a tinker wizard. He cant cast any spells all his magic comes from items such as staffs scrolls or weapons. Example he cant cast runes so he uses the dawnguard rune hammer for his runes. For summoning it must come from a staff same as destruction magic. For dealing with undead it comes for Dawn breaker or the Rune axe or Auriels bow or scrolls. He can use enchanting since this isnt a spell. but there is an item for almost anything you want to do with magic but Alteration which has very limited scolls and staffs.
If anybody has any ideas it would help. Im hoping I can make this playable, I dont want to be a fighter that just uses magic items.

There's always explosive/poisoned bolts. Are you considering alchemy or no?
